@Katie: Totally agree with you, he does have a natural charm. He doesn’t try to be sexy, he’s already sexy. I’ve always loved his eyes. As for Tom Cruise the only thing I like about him he makes some decent movies, I likes the MI movies, other than that his laugh is just scary…Team Brad Pitt all the way for the oscars

I think that Brad is taking a lot of effort to appear on these shows not only because he wants to increase the BO and DVD sales of Moneyball and TOL, and of course, his own chances of an oscar, but also because frankly, it gives amazing publicity to Jonah Hill. It is true that Jonah does not appear in every interview with Brad. But it is also a reality that if Brad weren’t appearing in some of these interviews, I doubt if Jonah would have been invited to those interviews himself. Brad is generously ensuring that he is able to shine a light on his friend Jonah, just as he had done for Casey Afleck a few years ago.

JD did look bloated in The Tourist but I still liked the movie a lot. But had to wonder how much sexier their interaction could have been if he had looked better. After all he was starring next to Angelina. That in and of itself should have made him go on some of sort diet before he began shooting.

    JP Love Says:

Was reading this article about ITLOBAH and it struck me again how in love and supportive of each other Brad & Angie are- I recall all those pap photos with Brad diligently taking pictures & cuddling with Angie. After seeing this VERY well-done complex, intense movie it is even more touching how they were their usual love bird selves. For those (troll?) naysayers, who think Brad isn’t “good” enough for Angie- go see ITLOBAH and then re-look at the onset pics of the JPs. Not many (any?) of Brad’s peers would would pass on 20M pay days to hang with their kids and be onset photog/gaffer /financier of their SO’s passion project.
    __
    Excerpt:
That crew proved invaluable for the first-time director, who shot the film in Hungary on a limited budget. “I’ve got six kids, so I was used to multitasking,” she said, ” but I learned something new every day, starting with how to look through the camera. “I’ve had experiences on film sets where people worked together and were kind to each other, and I’ve had other experiences where it was hierarchical and people were rude to each other, so I was very careful in picking a crew that was not only talented but some of the nicest people in the business. They all took pay cuts because they wanted to tell this story.

I know this is not the subject of this thread, but just want to mention it now while I am here: Angie is a naturally slender woman. Right after she finished breast feeding Shiloh and then right after breast feeding the twins, she was thinner. Look at her breast in Salt. She is smaller than her normal dimensions. Breast feeding makes a woman lose weight. Why people make such a big case out of Angie’s slight decrease in weight after she has given birth and breast fed her children, is unfair and misguided.

But Angie was always considered a sexy woman because she is slender with natural curves and she carries herself well and has a beautiful face with mysterious, mischievous eyes.

I liked The Tourist.. Loved Angie of course and Paul was my favorite. Johnny was not the best part of the film. He is not sexy in that WORLDLY way.. He was the problem in the movie. Not Angie. She and Paul had great chemistry.. I wanted to see more of them. And less of Johnny.

I like Johnny as a person.. I think he is a sweet and kind man. Not of this world in way.. But I don’t find him the least bit sexy. Never ever have found him that that sexy. I think it maybe because the parts he is most known for are weird character roles with loads of makeup. I’m not use to seeing him as a normal guy. And that for me was the problem

But like I said I like Johnny.. just not interested in his films.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt coming to the premiere of her film ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’ in Zagreb, Croatia

The famous Hollywood couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, are expected in Zagreb, at the premiere of her film ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’, which will be screened on 17th February in CineStar Arena IMAX.

Supposedly they will stay in the presidential suite of the hotel Regent Esplanade, and will be welcomed by the specialties of local cuisine such as Zagorje stukli, fuzi, steak and salads that the actress usually eats.

The famous Oscar winner will present her directorial and screenwriting debut. Besides Angelina and Brad, the film crew led by the main actors Zanom Marjanovic, Goran Kostic and Radom Serbedzija, is also coming to the premiere.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the film will be screened from 16th February, and two days before, the famous actress will also present it at the gala premiere in Sarajevo.

‘In her directorial debut ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’ , Angelina Jolie has shown the state of war in this region better than most of our directors’ , says Danilo Serbedzija.

The center of action is a love story about Danijel and Ajla who found themselves on opposite sides of the ethnic conflict. Before the war they were together, however, as the violence is flooding the earth, their relationship changes..

The film was nominated for “Golden Globe” in the category of Best Foreign Film, and won the Stanley Kramer Award that the Producers Guild of America awards to producers of films, which in an accessible and enriching way contribute to the understanding of provocative social issues.

    .
I think Brad and Angelina have done things like this in so many places they have been but not all their good deeds are recorded. NOT that B&A are looking for recognition or praise in doing a good deed. Their hearts are big and generous and they naturally reach out to help if they are in a position to do so. So many people have told stories here and there of how they both have done something kind as they passed by. And whether it is ever recorded for posterity is irrelevant. The people who have been helped by them know it and are grateful for the help and that is all that matters.

PItt might have thought he flatlined in Meet Joe Black, but I actually liked the movie very much. Maybe he felt emotionally flatlined, as that was part of the time that he was a couch weed potato at home,, but whatever his emotional state, it worked for the movie IMO.
    -
I still have some of his movies and Jolie’s on DVD that I haven’t seen yet. I hope they do make a film together, it doesn’t matter to me if they are together as a team in the movie or at odds, they’re just good together.
    -
Oh, btw. My eyes almost bled, but I saw Rachel when she had dark hair on Friends. I never knew. Oh, I know she’s a natural brunette, but I didn’t know she had that color on Friends. I never even saw Friends until it was in syndication, 2007, and only because of Lisa Kudrow. I thought Cox was prettier than Aniston. Aniston’s character was whinny and too needy, much like life. Fortunately, I only saw a few episodes. Loved the part Pitt played for that one episode, saw that on youtube.

Another comment I like and think is very true in that same article/interview:
    .
” He waits a beat, unleashes a killer grin. “I’m so damn affable, it’s disgusting.”
    .
Brad IS affable, lovable and desirable. Period!
    .
Brad is affably winning over and impressively slaying all the interviewers and talk sow hosts with his natural friendliness, gift of gab, openness, and his good old boy, down home, down-to-earth humbleness. Of course, his amazing good looks are definitely NOT a handicap.
    .
It is obvious Jon Stewart has a major man crush now and is completely hooked.
    .
Not only are the women interviewers swooning over him (as AC did touching his face in one of her interviews with him). It is understandable, she was completely overcome by his goodness and his irresistible good looks.
    .
But he has the male talk show hosts literally begging for him to appear on their show.
    .
Witness Dave Letterman having an emotional, almost apoplectic, tearful meltdown in front of his TV audience because Brad would not make even just an “appearance” on his show. Dave was so distraught, Howard Stern had to come on the show and comfort him and counsel him to let it go and get over it. Sad.
    .
And witness the massive, frenzied, swooning crowds chomping at the bit waiting outside TAS and TDS and the Today Show, just to see Brad, hear his voice and and prayerfully get an autograph from him.
    .
Now THAT is powerful magnetism and charisma and Brad has it naturally by the boat loads.

If she have gioven them to People her mug would be in the pics. BTW I see People calls it “THEIR” home. Who gets the house when he dumps her. I was stuck in a long line at the store and read the NE Angie cheating story. that is the funniest Sh** I’ve read in months. Angie” cheated” on Brad by meeting a lover in a hotel room over a year BEFORE they go together. I guess I “cheated” on my hubby w/ the guys I dated in college before we met. LOL

Thank you for the article Dc. It is a reprint of an article Angelina did after her mother died. But it is just as relevant now as it was then with all the current comments about Angelina’s weight generated by the jealous Jen Hags whose eyes fell out when they beheld how beautiful Angelina is and looks at all the Award shows.
    .
You can bet your last dollar that if Angelina were heavier, they would be screaming about how fat she is compared to their less fat (in their eyes only) Aniston.
    .
I wonder how many more times will Aniston have to talk about how much and how often she exercises and what she eats, and what equipment she uses and blah, blah blah, to try and stay slender, before a light comes on in people’s heads and everybody finally gets it. -
    .
She is simply FAT and out of shape – NATURALLY.
    .
And unless she starves herself and virtually kills herself working out with yoga, running, and on machines, etc., she will always be FAT – NATURALLY!
    .
The old bought and paid for ads of “isn’t she pretty” and what a great shape she has that Huvy has spent tons of her money procuring for Aniston, nobody is buying as true. People have eyes and can see for themselves. There is nothing remotely beautiful or different physically about Aniston than any other average human being.
    .
And the other stupid game she plays…..Who wore it better? Copying Jolie’s style as soon as Jolie steps out of her last outfit.
    .
Only a silly, vain, vacuous, and needy woman would stoop to such nonsense.
    .
The comparisons will never cease as long as Aniston has money to pay.

Ticky and Huvsy are spinning the storyline that she and Squiggy bought that house together when everybody and their blind dog knows Squiggy hasn’t got that kind of money. He’s D- List actor and a C list writer. He’s not in the million dollar per screenplay category. I’d be surprised if he even got half of that. “They” paid $21MIL for the house and if Squiggy contributed more than $0 I’d be shocked. If she was dumb enough to put his name on the mortgage, which I doubt, then it’s gonna be hilarious when he dumps her and goes after the house.

    Passing Through Says:

BTW, the news US Lies Weakly is once again claiming that Lenny & Squiggy are trying to have a baby. I hope it’s true…cuz if she’s preggers she can’t foist anymore bad movies on the public. The bad news is that if she really has a kid, then she’ll be out and about playing her PR games – and using the baby for PR ops whenever Brad or Angie have a premiere or any other major event. However, I’m not really worried about that because I still maintain that Ticky won’t have any kids for fear of her original nose, brown hair and low hairline will be revealed to all the world. People will look at her, then look a the kid, then look at Squiggy, at the kid again, then back at her and say, “Uhhhhhh…okay. Guess nobody told you genetics will out, huh?”

    Q&A: Tom Darden

Make It Right remains an active construction site, the ultimate work in progress. Led here in New Orleans by Tom Darden, the organization has set an ambitious goal: to complete all 150 houses by 2014. (They plan to break ground on a Frank Gehry-designed house soon.) While working on the Game Changers profile of Tim Duggan, Make It Right’s landscape architect, I interviewed Darden. The 32-year-old executive director talked about the background of this seminal project, its unforeseen challenges, and its potential for global impact. An edited version of our talk, conducted at the Make It Right offices, follows.

    ——
Your goal is to build 150 homes and it looks like you’re going to do that. But there’s another legacy here, research and development.
It’s more than just the houses. One of the benefits of this effort is that there are a lot of folks who come to us and want to demonstrate their new products. It’s something that we try to encourage and cultivate. We host summits where we call in manufacturers and say, “Show us your newest and greatest innovation” and then we think about creative ways to integrate them into our buildings. We have a patent pending on a pervious concrete mix and this basalt road reinforcement. That’s one way we’re learning to go beyond the 150 houses and have an impact in the building industry, which we’re realizing is an important part of this effort.

    —-
What about initiatives in other cities?
One of the things that’s been really cool about this work is that we’ve been able to take some of what we’ve learned on the construction side and translate it to other efforts. We’re helping a non-profit in Newark, New Jersey right now construct a building that we expect will achieve LEED platinum with no added cost. In Kansas City, we’ve got a grant from the regional planning authority to work with the community to develop a plan for the redevelopment of a site in a transitional part of town. The next step will be to seek public funding, which we have submitted an application for. If we get the funding, the idea will be to build a LEED platinum, affordable project that helps to broaden our goals. In Newark it’s multi-family; in Kansas City, it’s mixed use. We’re trying to expand our expertise.

And in those two cities you have slightly different roles.
In Newark, we helped convene the funding and acted in an advisory capacity for a group that already had plans to build. Our role was to help them make it greener and more affordable, to take those strategies that we use at Make It Right and apply them there. Here in New Orleans, we’re fully project managing. Kansas City is somewhere in between. We’ll have more of a project management role than in Newark, but we still we won’t have as much of a presence as we do in New Orleans, where we manage every facet of the project.

It seems like Make It Right is going to have a life beyond the Lower Ninth Ward.
I hope so. Brad always had a much larger vision. Even at the time when we agreed on this 150 number—

Angelina Jolie tells Russ Carnahan to call her ‘Angie’

HACKING: When film superstar, human rights activist and director Angelina Jolie called Rep. Russ Carnahan last night in his Washington office, she told him to call her Angie, after thanking him for his efforts on behalf of her film about the horrors of the Bosnian war in the early 1990s.

The private phoner was prompted by work the congressman did for Jolie as she gathered information and sought interviews here with the Bosnian press and others. St. Louis has the largest population of Bosnians outside of their native country and Jolie wanted to let the community know what motivated her to make the film, “In the Land of Blood and Honey.”

Carnahan is a co-founder of the the bipartisan Congressional Bosnian Caucus, and has hosted multiple briefings and traveled with local Bosnians to Bosnia. He is also a Congressional Delegate to the General Assembly fo the United Nations.

A spokeswoman for Carnahan said today that the film originally was scheduled for a limited release but that the high level of social media chatter emanating from St. Louis prompted the studio to bring it here.

The film will open today at 4:45 p.m. at Wehrenberg Theatre’s Ronnies 20 Cine.

I do know Pitt is happy as can be to be nominated in the same category as Gary Oldman. His death scene in Fight Club is inspired by Oldman. Pitt says on that film’s commentary, “No one dies like Gary!” It should also be noted that Pitt gets a slight advantage in that his work in both Moneyball and The Tree of Life show how wide a range he truly has.

Wow! I just checked Box Office Mojo. TOL did $54,303,319 globally (41m international and 13.3m US market. Production budget 32m. Not sure if TOL will cover all costs, but I guess after DVD sales etc, it should come close to breaking even.
    .
Moneyball has as made US$31m internationally and $75.6m in the US for a total of $106.6m at 29/1. From what I can see, it’s not opened in some countries yet. I wonder if the foreign BO for Moneyball will exceed TOL. You’d think so given that Moneyball is far more accessible than TOL. I’ve seen Moneyball and I think it’s great. Moneyball did great in Japan – already more than 11m.
    .
Production budget of 50m, so, I think that means it’s profitable and will be more so in the DVD sales. Plan B is a producer so it gets a % of DVD sales and licenses I assume. And I also assume Brad gets a back end as he probably took a pay cut to do money ball.

Really? Questions and answers are prepared in advance? I don’t think so sweetie.
    .
But if they are, then at least Brad and Angelina answer their questions knowledgeably and intelligently. That’s quite unlike some other celebrities who manage to sound stupid and uninformed each time they are interviewed. Take Jennifer Aniston for example: For her turkey baster movie for example, she didn’t even know how artificial insemination is done – she’s that stupid and uninformed though it was a movie about a woman who goes for AI to get pregnant!!

    dawne Says:

Brad and Angie are so suited to having a large family. When they met, it must have been so clear they wanted the same things in life from humanitarianism, quality career choices and a tight family that stays together at all times despite the demands of their joint careers. Then when he also realized this empowered, smart woman was as gorgeous inside and she is on the outside, it is so apparent why he couldn’t go back to his unpurpose driven existence. It was clearly stale dated due to his personal growth as a man. A man who was raised by a woman who loved children. Men marry their mothers, and Ticky was as about as polarized from his mother as it gets. Needy, vain and neurotic didn’t do it for him. If she had the same abiities as Angie to chew gum and walk it might have been a different story; but fame for Angie was never a priority and it was the driving force for Ticky

Angie has achieved global fame because she focused on doing the right things despite all, where Ticky tried to manipulate fame while doing all the wrong things…Rachel still riding on her hair cut. So glad the universe unfolded as it should; big lesson here for Ticky, her hens and enablers and budding starlets. Angie and Brad are unquestionably the benchmark for all things good from career choices, to heart, to family. And they are humble. They are not imposters, they know from what they speak; they do the hard work, the research, the discipline it takes to excel.

It is no accident they are enjoying the fame they are. It has been earned.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s oldest son, Maddox, is following in his parents’ adventurous footsteps. Cambodian-born Maddox, whom Angelina adopted in 2002, is already learning how to fly!

“Our 10-year-old is taking pilot lessons,” Brad told host James Lipton during his taping of Inside the Actor’s Studio in NYC on Jan. 31.

Angelina got her pilot’s license in 2005, and Maddox joined her last September as she flew the friendly skies in England. But Maddox will have plenty of time to practice before he can fly solo: The minimum age to get a pilot’s license is 17.

While Brad says he loves the freedom of flying, his biggest thrill is being a dad. “It’s the greatest adventure I’ve been on,” he says during the interview.

I don’t think Brad’s going to win the Oscar either, but I don’t agree with the “why not”. Brad’s well-respected in the industry and I think people are genuinely happy for him that things have worked out with Angie and they’ve been able to create the family and the life that they have. I just don’t think he’s going to win because he doesn’t play the game to kill. He’s not behind the scenes wheeling and dealing like Harvey Weinstein – or schmoozing and boozing the old-timers the way Porgie does. He does the media work and the Q&A’s as requested by Sony…but he doesn’t have a publicist sitting around calling members and asking them if they’ve seen his film and if not to please consider watching it before voting – and yes, Porgie’s PR ho has done this in the past and is undoubtedly doing the same this year. Instead when not required to work – silly Brad is off enjoying time with Angie and their family or working on his charity projects. some of the old guard may interpret that as Brad doesn’t want to win badly enough to go all out in his campaign. What I think is going to happen is that, because it’s the entire Academy voting for the winners and not just the actors branch, Brad and Porgie are going to split the votes and Jean du Jardin is going to win with the Harvey push behind him. If not, Oldman is very well-respected outside of the actor’s branch and he could easily slip in there for the win – and people would be genuinely happy to see him win. And that’s really what the final push is about – the non-actors, ie, the technicians, producers, directors, cinematogrphers, etc. That’s where Harvey has the greatest influence – the people he can promise future work to in exchange for their vote.

I agree with Lylian he and Ange are fortunate ,they literally have it all and all those haters wont give Brad what he deserves but that doesnt matter cause Paul Newman , Gary Oldman have shamelessly not received one but Clooney and BRODY have ..
    .
    +++++++++++++++++++
    .
Paul Newman DID win a Best Actor Oscar. He won in 1986 for The Color of Money where he, and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. schooled Tiny Tom on acting. That’s one of the few Tiny Tim flicks I willingly paid money to see – only because Paul Newman was reprising his role of Fast Eddie Felson from The Hustler.
    .
As for Adrian Brody’s Best Actor win – have you seen The Pianist? He effin’ killed it. The year he won he beat out Academy faves Daniel Day-Lewis (Gangs of New York) and Jack Nicholson (About Schmidt), Michael Caine (The Quiet American) – and the last time Nicolas Cage could be bothered to even attempt to act (Adaptation). Personally I find Adrian Brody to be a disappointment. He’s got SO much talent…and his agent either sucks or he’s just not giving it all in his auditions because he hasn’t had a decent role since The Pianist. On a personal level he’s starting to look a little too douchey. Dude really needs to ease up on the smirking…

I really want Brad to win. I’m a fan and that is what fans want. But if he doesn’t win he is in a very talented group of actors that should have won but didn’t. It’s always interesting to me to see where actors and actresses are years after the win. Are they still relevant. Are they still making quality films. Are they still in their A game. You can be a ONE HIT wonder. I would rather if the choice was for Brad not win if the quality of his work continues to be on the path it is now; in front of the camera and behind.

I just see him getting better and better. I just think for many actors and we could all make a very long list.. the Oscar becomes the period on their work. Not for all of them obviously.. but for a vast number. Then you wonder if it was the Actor or the Role..

Brad is smart and makes amazing choices. I can’t wait to see what he does in the future.

Brad forgave Putrid a long time ago – as soon as she publicly admitted that SHE was the one who effed up their relationship. She’s a blip on his radar and has spoken to her for years so I’m not surprised he would mention her in reference to a movie he made with her. But…talk about their relationship? Never again – and she knows that. That’s why she’s forever bringing him up in HER interviews. Ticky gets similar treatment – he may reference his life during the time he was with her but he NEVER directly mentions Ticky’s name unless someone specifically asks about her because he’s obliquely called her a dullard and co-doughnut. The fact that Lamey is so happy about Brad saying Putrid’s name is really pretty pathetic. If Lamey’s that happy…can you just imagine who thrilled Putrid is? She’s probably doing the Happy Dance and taunting Christ Martin, “Brad said my name in public and we haven’t been together in 15 years…and there’s nothing you can do about it! NA NA NA NA NA NA NA!”

I’d love to see Brad win the Oscar, but I just don’t think Moneyball is an Academy-friendly movie. For one thing – it’s not showy enough and, as Brad pointed out, there’s no character arc, epiphany or big dramatic ending. The other thing I think is working against Brad is the fact that Sandra Bullock won 2 years ago for another movie based on a Michael Lewis book. That’s a silly thing but nobody ever said the Academy was above silliness.
    .
ITA with you about being interested in seeing where past winners are now. There have been so many one-offs – actors who came out of the blue and who’s previous body of work hasn’t exactly portended an Oscar win, ie, see Halle Berry, Reese Witherspoon, Adrian Brody, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, Natalie Portman, Sandra Bullock, Marion Cotillard, Hillary Swank’s first win, Helen Hunt and Putrid. Where are these people’s career’s today? Aside from Hillary Swank not one of them has even come close to another nomination and in the majority of their cases no hit movies either. Hillary Swank’s won 2 Oscars yet her career these days is a flat line because she’s hellbent on doing films that she thinks are Oscar-bait. Helen Hunt was a tv actress who made 2 good theatrical movies and got lucky. Reese Witherspoon was a romcom girl who got the dranatuc role of a lifetime and hasn’t been able to capture ligntning in a bottle since then – either with a drama or a comedy. Natalie Portman? Puh-leeze. Let’s not even go there. Foxx, Whitaker and Brody – all victins if the role of a lifetime fluke like RW. Until recently Halle was one of the winners who’d worked steadily and consistently but her opportunities have dried up due to being over 40 and being black.
    .
And, of course, a lot of the women have been stricken by the Best Actress Winner Bad Luck Curse – divorces, baby daddy dramas, husband caught up in a sex scandal, etc. Sometimes winning the Best Actress award is detrimental to your career AND personal life. Then there’s the fact that the opportunities for women in films just as a thick on the ground as they are for men. That’s why so many actors start their own production companies, but it’s harder for women to get funding than it is for men, so even if they’re developing their own projects, unless they’ve got a good box office track record, it’s an uphill battle that’s mostly unwinnable.

Your list PT was exactly mine. My meter of success if how your career goes after the nomination or the win. Just for example Angie won her’s very young. Before she really became a “STAR” I think the pressure or the desire to win was abated then. She knew what it felt like. But she has continued to grow. Whether some like her or not. She is still relevant. Brad has been in the business for over 20 years. Still relevant. In a business that throws actors and actresses away for the NEXT.. it is amazing that they both have been able to maintain the public fascination and frenzy for this long. there are not many that this can be said of.

I’m not a fan of Lamey.. but i will give her this.. She has noted that there is not a NEXT Brad Pitt. He is just a one of a life time happening. And I don’t see there being a NEXT Angelina Jolie. I think they have both cemented their place in history. Brad has been compared to Redford. But not in a way that has hindered his success. Angie.. well she is unique. She is like no one before. She has not to my knowledge been compared to anyone. Others are forever being held up as the next Jolie.. and all falling way way short. We see them all taking pieces of what they think she is and putting it out there for the public to bite. And the public is saying NOPE..not yet. not yet.

The fascinate me. The crazy around them. them as a couple and individually. If I was ever to go back to school for another degree.. I would so do research on the JPs.. They really are something that just won’ happen again for a long time.. we will be lucky in our lifetime to see.. but I doubt it..

If a judge finds out she’s deliberately tried to set Gabriel up, and make his life hell, we might witness a ruling that swings to custody for Gabriel. Her actions are so transparent to me, if I can see that, so can a judge. Poor nahla. She looks really happy when she’s with her daddy. Halle needs to chill the f out. I remember this really great afr amer actress on soaps, and later stage, tonya pinkins, who lost custody of twin baby boys back in the day, her husband was a hotshot connected person, and convinced the judge due to her lifestyle ( being an actress) he was the better custodial parent. It devastated her. I don’t think Halle would survive it. She’s a mess under the best circumstances.

Angelina cried out as she felt herself shudder and climax as Brad nibbled at the sensitive pink folds that concealed her entrance. Brad grinned as she tugged at his hair, trying to pull him up so they were face-to-face. Sliding his hands up her smooth back, he licked and kissed her lips and began to kiss every inch of her body, including the slight scar that marred the lower portion of her belly. She was so beautiful and Brad loved her more than she would ever know. He had been sleeping when he heard her moan in her sleep. He had turned to wake her when he realized his sexy lady love was having one of those hot and wet fantasies. As if that weren’t wonderful enough, he had heard her yell out the name “Achilles” and what better way to reprise his former role than like this? Deciding to mess things up a bit, Brad pretended that she was “Olympias,” mother of Alexander and also an indirect descendant of Achilles according to myth. So, while she had been sleeping, Brad proceeded to make love with her with his hands and mouth. But now it was time to use another tool. His rock-hard pen!s. Before she could say anything, Brad flipped Angelina onto her stomach and got up on his knees behind her. Pulling her hips back towards his erection, Brad inserted the tip of himself inside her and then thrust all the way in. Angelina cried out at the sharp and full sensation, but soon her cries became moans of pleasure as Brad grabbed hold of her hips and began to ram himself in and out of her at a steady pace. She grabbed onto the bedposts for support as Brad began to increase the length of his pace and thrusts, punishing her with his speed stick. She muffled her scream into the pillow, not wanting to wake anybody up. After a few minutes of building up the pinnacle of their sexual flight, Brad and Angelina climaxed together in a hot and beautiful mess. A few seconds later, it was Angelina’s turn to be the dominant one. Angelina watched as she lowered herself unto the Bradley pony, watching his **** disappear seemingly forever inside her. Bracing her palms on his chest for support, Angelina began to grind as Brad played with her big breasts. She was the hottest MILF he had ever seen. Soon after riding him for what seemed to be eternity, Angelina climaxed, unable to stop from screaming her powerful and intense 0rgasm into his face. Brad kissed her as she fell forward in a disheveled heap. He came soon after, for nice guys always finish last. After a few minutes of snuggling and some pillow talk, the lovers soon fell asleep once more, with their limbs entangled and melding into one another’s, just like their love. The End

GK Films, writer-director Angelina Jolie, and the distributors of In the Land of Blood and Honey are utilizing publicity, marketing, and new media devices to enhance the film’s role as a purveyor of education. The Center for the Study of Women recently cosponsored the premiere of the film, which centers on a relationship between a prisoner and her captor in wartime Bosnia, circa 1992 to 1995. The relationship becomes a crucible through which to explore the sociopolitical events that both surround and impact it. In addition to representing this time, place, and community with impressive accuracy, the producers of the film have used it as an opportunity to provide more historical and social context to viewers who explore its official website
    —-
It seems difficult to deny that, with In the Land of Blood of Honey and its publicity, the filmmakers and distributors have pushed the boundaries of what kinds of industry and independent films are possible, and what cultural functions they may serve. Let us hope that its success will allow the film and its surrounding discourse to serve as models for other Hollywood power players.

    Jolie-Pitt head to Bosnia

    (AFP)

    5 February 2012

Angelina Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt will visit Croatia and Bosnia this month for the launch of her directorial debut, a Bosnian wartime love story, a distributor said.

The movie In the Land of Blood and Honey will have its official debut in Sarajevo on February 14 and in the Croatian capital Zagreb three days later, the local distributor, Blitz Film, said in a statement.

The film has already had a preview screening in Bosnia in late December, as a number of victims’ organisations in Bosnia had expressed concern that the film would not correctly present their plight.
Most of them eventually hailed the movie as objective and sincere.

    —-
The international premiere of Jolie’s directorial debut, filmed in 2010 with a number of actors from the former Yugoslavia, took place on December 5 in New York and it will go on general release in Europe in early February.

    @Love the JoliePitts:

Oh jeepers, the pressure, the pressure to get a good story for you all.LOL.

On the Oscars debate here is my take: I went to the London film critics awards recently where the Artist won big. Jean Dujardin won best actor. In my opinion the win was wholly deserved. I think his performance is magnificent in a perfect film. (He’s also totally gorgeous)!!

Afterwards i spoke to a number of voters who also have the Bafta vote. They said they simply could not understand why Clooney was the Oscar front runner. They had good words for Brad, were loyal to Brit Oldman (but didn’t love the film or him in it) but were bowled over by Dujardin.
The Baftas have become a landmark point on the Oscar trail. Normally I’d say whoever wins the Bafta is on target for Oscar. However, this year, my feeling is, the voters feel Dujardin deserves it but they have a Brit who has been overlooked for many years in Oldman so may feel some pressure to vote for him.
So, imo the Bafta battle is between these 2.
Oscar, however, I think is a VERY tight battle between Dujardin and Clooney.
Brad’s time will come but not this year.
As for Lainey and her obsession with the ‘campaign’ by B & A – she is out of her depth in her useless Oscar analysis. Michael Caine once said, ‘EVERY actor wants an oscar, anyone who says he doesn’t is LYING!’
Does Brad want an Oscar, yes. So does every one of the other 4 men in the running. Do you think Damien Bichir wants it any less just because most people haven’t heard of him and he’s not Brad or George?
    Brad’s time will come.

Golddustwoman- thanks for sharing yr info- I’m still hoping for Brad! Even before Moneyball & TOL, he had one of the most diverse and most accomplished resumes of anyone. If Brad retired today, he would have already achieved his very admirable goal of leaving behind fine work for his children. As fans, we should cherish the next few weeks because it could be several years before we see the JPs at award shows….not that they won’t be making fabulous movies for us to see, it’s just that these upcoming movies don’t seem to be ones that attract award attention. If 12 yrs….is well -received, Brad could get nominated as a producer, unless, of course, they find a way to screw him out of that, too. Or maybe Angie will make her Afghanistan story.

  215. 215
    Golddustwoman Says:

Never say never Moneball – I get a feeling Angelina is looking hard for that killer script that will get her Oscar number 2. She could find it any time. Personally i’d prefer her to sweep the board with a best actress win than get acclaim for directing another film that doesn’t get a large audience.
Don’t get me wrong, kudos to her for that but female stars have a limited shelf life in Hollywood, whether we like it or not.
Angelina is at the peak of her fame and beauty. She needs to capitalize on that and secure her movie legacy with a few box office smash hits and the odd Oscar bait film in between. There will be time for directing etc later. I want to see her win a big slew of awards, be undisputed box office queen and slay the opposition over the next few years.
But, I totally agree with you, let’s enjoy them on the red carpet these next few weeks.

LOL.. someone posted a while back that one of the hags at IUC stole a post of a JP fan that went to one of Brad and Angie premiers and changed it to make it about Aniston. I think it was because we had said something on this site about how her fans never tweet or write accounts of meeting her. So this dumb twit took a JP fan account and wrote it like she had seen Aniston at some premier.. LOL.. funny how in all the years of premiers the woman has had that only one of her fans wrote about it.

Brad and Angie together is HOT.. and I get how they can inspire some creative writing. I wish I could write like some of the fans.. but.. I sure enjoy the fan fics I have read. And have not doubt the HAGS are at home locked in a room enjoying them too.. Such losers. ITAWY.. if you look at what she has been saying in interviews.. acting is not on her agenda. She doesn’t seem to have much passion for it right now. Look she has not worked in front of the camera for about 2 years. That is a long time. If she was about the acting right now she would have done a movie to just do a movie.. We see that all the time.. I miss seeing her, but like that she doesn’t feel the need to do a movie just because. I think she is at the point where for her to act it will have to be a great script that moves her.

but she has said she wants to be a Director now.. so I think the fans should prepare for seeing her less in front of the camera and more behind it. She and Brad have both said they were going to be acting less and less.. some people just didn’t listen.

But I miss her too.. I hope she does that film in April.. but we will have to wait and see.

I think doing several of these shows that he’s never done before is an experiment and a farewell. Also, CCOBB was premiering overseas during Jan-Feb when he would have be doing the shows he’s doing now. Angie has said even more about doing less/retiring. It will definitely be a treat if we do see her in front of the camera again. Yes, she is good at/liked directing, but she feels shy about it and knows it takes a lot of time. I’ve posted on and off for several years on different forums. I’ve fought horrendous battles on behalf of B + A against Aniston nutters but this is the first time I’ve been called out by a B + A fan!

How very rude of you to suggest I ‘make up stories’.
Please point to anything I’ve posted which is fanciful or untrue.

Other posters have been very gracious and if you look back at my posts I asked whether they might like me to report back from the Baftas. Several said they did. If they still want me to, I am still very happy to do so for them.
Your post is totally uncalled for.

@Golddustwoman: I think she has found it in Cleopatra. No doubt that if she gives a good performance she will win another Oscar. I don’t think she is really concerned about that, but this is her next award winning film. She is destined to become a great director in the future. People will give her the opportunity to direct again on something she didn’t write.
As for BP maybe he will do another role and get that Oscar but not this one. I think he should do something like Kalifornia and become a not so pretty bad guy in a movie to win the big O.

@IMO: Why do you say he”obviously not going to win”. How would you know that? I can say in my opinion he is going to win. The only people who knows who is going to win are the people counting the votes. From what I gathered, the voting has not been closed as yet. Also, people must remember this is business. There are many people who have invested millions of dollars to make this movie and they are looking for a profit on their investment.
Have you not seen all the happy fans going crazy to see BP in NY and everywhere he goes. BP is one of the most beloved HW star all over the world. When you read the gossip sites and the weekly rags you may think that he is not at the top of his game, but don’t believe everything you read in the rags and on some of the blogs. They say things to get hits, that’s how they pay their mortgage and car notes.
Also, he is not the only actor selling his movie, it’s their job to sell it. You hear more about Brad because he is the biggest star at this time and it would appear for a long time to come. There is only one BP and everyone is trying to be like him, believe that. #224

    Berlin Says:

Jolie, Streep join Arab Spring at Berlin film fest
    AFP
    Sunday, Feb 05, 2012

BERLIN – The Arab Spring uprisings and political turmoil in the West will dominate the 62nd Berlin film festival starting Thursday, as Hollywood royalty sprinkles stardust in the frigid German capital.

Angelina Jolie, Meryl Streep, Uma Thurman, Robert Pattinson, Antonio Banderas and Christian Bale are due in town to present new films at the first major European festival of the year, and arguably its most topical.

“Farewell My Queen”, a drama starring Diane Kruger as Marie Antoinette on the eve of the French Revolution and told from the point of view of the underclass – a kind of “Occupy Versailles” – will set the tone for 11 days of world premieres.

“There is a clear theme running through the Berlinale this year and that is upheaval,” festival director Dieter Kosslick told reporters as he unveiled the line-up featuring nearly 400 films.

“A lot of stories are seen from the perspective of the underdog and that theme of radical change and political awakening applies to our opening film too.”

“Farewell My Queen” by French director Benoit Jacquot is one of 18 pictures vying for the Golden Bear top prize, to be awarded by a jury led by British director Mike Leigh and including US actor Jake Gyllenhaal, Franco-British actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, Dutch photographer Anton Corbijn and French director Francois Ozon.

Also on the panel is Iran’s Asghar Farhadi, who took home the Golden Bear and swept the acting prizes last year for his wrenching drama “A Separation”, setting the film on a trajectory that has now seen it nominated for a foreign-language Oscar.

Berlin prides itself on being “edgier” than its chief competitors, Cannes and Venice, with a more overtly political programme.

This year’s event will spotlight the Arab Spring one year after the fall of Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak with documentaries shot on the ground, panel discussions and feature films dealing with the region’s history and cultures.

And three films in the festival’s Forum section will spotlight the nuclear disaster at Fukushima last March, including “No Man’s Zone” which takes viewers into the contaminated area around the stricken reactors.

Jolie is to present her directorial debut “In the Land of Blood and Honey”, a Bosnian wartime love story, and participate in an audience discussion after the screening.

Streep will pick up an honorary Golden Bear for her life’s work and the festival will show the top films of her career culminating in a gala screening of her new Margaret Thatcher biopic “The Iron Lady”.

In the competition, 2007 Golden Bear winner Wang Quan’an will unveil his sweeping Chinese epic, “White Deer Plain”, based on “one of the most controversial novels in modern Chinese literature,” Kosslick said.

Chen Zhongshi’s prize-winning bestseller depicts the hardscrabble lives of generations of families in the countryside before the rise of communism.

Filipino art-house star Brillante Mendoza’s will join the running with “Captive”, starring French screen icon Isabelle Huppert as an aid worker kidnapped by Islamic extremist group Abu Sayyaf.

US actor and film-maker Billy Bob Thornton, who won a screenwriting Oscar for his own first outing as a feature film director, 1996′s “Sling Blade”, will premiere the Vietnam War-era drama “Jayne Mansfield’s Car” in the competition.

Other entries in the main showcase include British drama “Bel Ami”, based on a Guy de Maupassant novel and starring Pattinson of “Twilight” fame as a young man who manipulates Paris’s wealthiest women to realise his ambitions.

Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci co-star in the picture, which will appear out of competition.

Bale will also appear out of competition in “The Flowers of War” by Chinese master Zhang Yimou.

British Oscar winner Kevin Macdonald will unveil his keenly anticipated documentary on the life of the late reggae superstar Bob Marley.

And Shah Rukh Khan will delight Bollywood fans at a screening of the German-India co-production “Don – The King is Back”.

I wish Brad and Angie would make more movies before they call it quits on acting. They can produce and direct but it would be an awful shame not to see them on screen from time to time. They have such a great presence that every time I see some movie write up or preview for a new film I keep wondering how Angie or Brad would have done if they had been in it.

The two are such beautiful actors and entertaining to watch. Look at Clint Eastwood. He directs, produces but still acts once in a while. So does the other greats like de NIro.

In these days where other actors are killing themselves trying to get roles or attention, the JPs seem to be the only ones reluctant to take advantage of their bargaining power. Wish they’d relent and take more roles cause their fans are really interested in seeing them. They don’t have to be Oscar bait or huge blockbusters…but they should be good ones and have legs.

***Maybe Brad would get nominated again for WWZ. It looks like it’s going to be good.

I love coming here because there’s a big fan base plus I get to learn more things about them.

I also wish that Angie would do more acting. I believe she is a a fantastic actor and I would love to see her win a best actress oscar. If she doesnt thats fine with me I just would love to see her more on screen. I too believe she doesn’t care about wards- she’s NOT a petty, materialistic or vain person. I believe if we all sat down with her we would love her even more beause she would be so down-to-earth and easy to be around. That’s my feeling on her. When I tell you I have NO interest in any other celebity but B&A – I really don’t – these two are the only ones I read about and check out. I am going through ANgie withdrawals :) because I haven’t seen any pics of her since the Sag awards. I am really going to miss seeing them after the award seasons because I think we won’t see much of them.

I am not one who likes to guess at who will win what and I try not go get my hopes up for Brad because I think there is a lot of politicking that goes on in Hollywood and in the movie industry period! So, for me, every award is up for grabs and I choose to wait and see what the outcome will be. Of course, if Brad wins, I will be ecstatic.
    .
What you have pointed out about Jean DuJardin is not surprising, and certainly not disloyal in any way as a fan of Brad and Angelina.
    .
That movie, The Artist, in which he stars, appears to be winning over many in Hollywood. And DuJardin, from the clips I have seen, has put on a fantastic performance. Again, I think it is anyone’s game. But then I know nothing of the behind the scenes wrangling that goes on in the “hallowed halls” of the movie industry.

Thanks SWEET for that Gary Oldman quote. I also just read it in the NYT article on Oldman this am (very last line of article).:
    NYT February 4, 2012
    Gary Oldman
    By KATE MURPHY

Gary Oldman is an English actor who first gained acclaim for playing Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols in the 1986 film “Sid and Nancy,” but he is perhaps more widely known for his roles as Sirius Black in the “Harry Potter” film series and Jim Gordon in the Batman movies. He received his first Oscar nomination this year for his portrayal of George Smiley in the film adaptation of John le Carré’s “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.”

READING Right now I’m reading the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson. I love when people have a singleness of purpose and don’t get dissuaded. I can connect with that. I can recognize it. I think a lot of artists have that. Art and commerce are not particularly happy bedfellows, but he was the exception.

I read quite a lot of biographies. I like nonfiction. The other book I’m carrying around with me at the moment is “River of Shadows: Eadweard Muybridge and the Technological Wild West” by Rebecca Solnit. It deals with the 19th century and the arrival of speed with the coming of the industrial age. We were very much governed by nature before; we were at the mercy of our own speed and horses and the like. It’s interesting to think of living at that pace.

LISTENING Eddie Vedder: “Ukulele Songs.” I’m trained as a pianist, and along the way I’ve picked up the guitar and bass. And about five years ago my mother asked me what I’d like for Christmas, and I’d had enough socks and slippers, so I asked for a ukulele. It’s such a beautiful little thing and has the sweetest sound. And also it’s very portable. You can throw it in an overhead bin in an airplane. And then Vedder’s “Ukulele Songs” came out. Sonically it’s a very challenging album and no worse for the fact that it’s on the ukulele. Some of the songs hold up as well as anything he’s written. The sound of the ukulele contrasts nicely to the voice. I like the combination of sweet and sour.

WATCHING All the Oscar contenders. I’m a fan of George Clooney. I think he has a very interesting range. I think audiences respond to emotional sincerity. And you can’t put a pin through an insincere moment in Christopher Plummer’s performance. And Brad Pitt, I could watch him read a phone directory.

Love the Jolie Pitts, no I don’t post often, I have a life outside this site. I post when I have time….sometimes I don’t post for a month. I enjoy reading A&B information and thoughts shared by fans. I don’t like reading information that does not have a source. As I wrote, a real journalist would be obliged to his/her media outlet and it would be unethical to post information outside that outlet. I have friends whose young daughters read blogs and believe much of what is written so I don’t think it is fair to them when people come on board and pretend to be something they are not. It is extremely unhealthy and immoral. I don’t encourage enabling fantasies. I noticed you just started using a new name, so look to the mirror before you start your rants. Don’t read my posts. The benefit of these blogs is once you see the true colors of posters you can then ignore them. Have a good day.

Pitt didn’t actually say he WOULD retire in 3 years. The questions was, “How much longer would you like to do your business?” His response was, “Three years.” Next question: “After that?” His answer: “I don’t know.
    -
Saying you’d like to retire in 3 years isn’t the same as saying you WILL retire. Anyone who’s smart and has a career, makes an exit plan and I’m sure he’s working on his.
    -
It’s better to chose your own fate rather than have the consensus be that you stayed too long at the table. I don’t ever see Pitt hanging around past his ‘sell by’ date. Like he says, he has a whole lot of other interests. Eventually, they both will stop making films and it won’t be when they’re in their 60′s, they’ll still be at the top of their game.

BP knows JH fan base is growing and he is loved by lots young people. Lets get this straight he knows this business well and politicking is a part of it.
He has been standoffish and not granting interviews to people on the red carpet in the past and I think he is going in a different direction now because most people don’t care if he speaks to them or not.
Because Angie will be the reason he doesn’t talk. Like she said in one interview she is the reason for the cane. She gets the blame for everything. Now it’s her fault he wants to bring up marriage all of a sudden and she doesn’t want to talk about it.
You see how much he brings her name and the kids up now in interviews. That use to be off limits. It’s all the same. Running a race.

He would have known this was a ‘bought’ title and I’m sure when he complimented Goopy on her ‘lifestyle’ ..i.e. family and kids……..a clean life or whatever…………..Clini was right, he was stealth in omitting any such reference to his mouldy ex. He is clearly aware that she has still not had kids, is still playing the fame game, clearly has not worked at her craft.

This is all reinforcing to him that he made the right decision at the right time. She is still living an unexplored, path of least resistance, self serving childless life.
Brad’s time will come but not this year.
    .
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    .
Eh…I’m gonna have to disagree with you, GWW. There aren’t enough cross-over members for the BAFTAs to have much impact on the Oscars or portend the outcome. They’re just just a blip on the Oscar radar and happen to be the last major award given out before the big show. Plus, the BAFTAs have tended to honor Brits over non-Brits (in all categories) regardless of whether or not they deserve the award. Because their awards happen after so many of the big awards have been given out in the US, the last few years the winners there have tended to fall in line with previous winners. The 4 exceptions in the last 10 years have been DD-L (Gangs of New York) over Adrien Brody, Bill Murray (Lost In Translation) over Sean Penn (Mystic River), Mickey Rourke over Sean Penn (Milk) and Colin Firth (A Single Man) over Jeff Bridges. otherwise they’re bang on with previous choices made by the CCAs, GGs or SAGs – DD-L, Colin Firth, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jamie Foxx and Forest Whitaker. If you go as far back as 2000 you’ll see the ridiculous choice of Jamie Bell in Billy Elliot over Russell Crow in Gladiator and in 2001 the make-up BAFTA to Russell Crowe for A Beautiful Mind instead of Denzel Washingtong for Training Day – and Denzel wasn’t even nominated for the BAFTA that year. Instead 3 Brits and Kevin Spacey were –
    .
Jim Broadbent as John Bayley – Iris
Ian McKellen as Gandalf – The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Kevin Spacey as Quoyle – The Shipping News
Tom Wilkinson as Matt Fowler – In the Bedroom
    .
As for this year’s front-runners – gotta disagree there, too, and stick with what I said yesterday – Porgie and Brad will split the votes and someone else will win – just like at the SAG awards. That doesn’t mean du Jardin is a front-runner in his own right – even with Harvey Weinstein blackmailing and bribing people behind the scenes (yeah, I said it). That means he or Oldman could win in a close race where he’s got just enough votes to out-distance the Brad-Porgie dogfight. Then again it could end up with Bechir winning simply because the other 4 cancelled each other out. I listed my reason Brad won’t win yesterday. I hope I’m wrong and he does win – but I think he’s enough of a factor in this race that his votes will cancel out Porgie in any race not being decided by the HFPA being bribed to give it to Porgie or movie critics splitting their votes for Brad between Moneyball and TOL.

I think Brad is more interested in making movies that stand the test of time. If it happens to bring him Oscar glory, then fine, but he’d rather have movies that people are still talking about in 20, 30, 40 years. Porgie is the one who makes Oscar-bait films. I’ve said it before – look how many roles Brad has played that people remember not just the movie but the character’s name. In 10 years even cinephiles won’t be blathering on about The Descendents…but Moneyball is going to stick out because it’s a true story, based on a real event about a real man and decisions he made that changed the course of a sport forever. Plus it’s a damned good movie. Brad wants to make movies that say something and last. He keeps referencing Gene Hackman’s role as Popeye Doyle in The French Connection. Hackman did win the Oscar for that role but how many people remember that over the movie or the character? Not that many. Or Pacino as “Sonny” in Dog Day Afternoon? Everybody remembers the movie (and WHY Sonny was robbing the bank)…nobody remembers that Pacino lost out to Nicholson’s Randle Pactrick McMurphy that year. I know people who swear Pacino won Best Actor for Dog Day and are surprised that he didn’t. Then again, people are always surprised to find out that Brad hand’t been nommed for Best Actor before CCOBB. People think he was nommed for Fight Club, Se7en or Snatch – and are suprised that he wasn’t.

Passing Through, I always enjoy reading your posts because you are very interesting and some of your posts are absolutely gut busting with humor.
    .
This one puzzling question I have and I know you can answer it.
    .
I have heard so many times that Harvey Weinstein is really broke and has very empty pockets in Hollywood. Well, maybe “broke” for Harvey is not the same as “broke” for me. That I can understand.
    .
But, if that is the case, how is this man able to finance and bribe and do so many deals in that industry? Why has he not gone away? And why is it he seems always to have so many movies up for Academy and GG Awards, and people calling him, “god.” So many stars referred to him and thanked him at the GGs. I am truly puzzled. This man must be the most amazing wheeler and dealer in all of Hollywood history.
    .
    Thanks for your reply.

I don’t dislike Wrestling Ho. She seems nice enough and she does have a great body and great legs. I just don’t respect her. A girl’s gotta eat, sure, but hot dogs are just as tasty as filet mignon – especially when you don’t have to ho yourself out for dinner. If you have so little respect for yourself that you’re willing to let a rich man use you for his own end, then fine…but don’t tweet dumb shite in support of him trying to front like you’re the love of his life, let yourself be pimped in Peeps getting ready for HIS award events or announce you’ve just signed wiht a major agency who wouldn’t give you the time of day prior to hooking up with him and him phoning them asking for a favor when you know your shelf life is slightly less than that of a brown banana at your local grocery store. And then at the end of your brief time as his arm candy start smack talking him and the “relationship” or desperately hooking up with any minor star who offers just to keep a tenuous hold on “fame” while the rest of the world snickers about you sold yourself to a man old enough to be your father and expect people to show you respect as a human being. That just ain’t gonna happen nor should she expect it to. God knows I certainly can’t be bothered to look deeper than that. If she was worried about people thinking well of her she’d never have hooked up with the 2nd most notorious “bachelor” on the planet. I’m sure Porgie thinks he’s above Hef…but he ain’t.

I KNOW you are fan. I have read your many posts. I know all the fans by their regular monikers on these threads and I know their post as they know mine. That comment was not a reference to you or to any known JP fan at any time.
    .
It was merely a reference to someone who comes on board, under an unfamiliar and unknown moniker solely for the purpose of verbally attacking a fan who is known by her moniker.
    .
As I said to Strange. I had not seen her name before and Strange explained it is because she does not post often. I am satisfied by what she said. And that is why I cannot say Strange is not a fan.

Just last year Matt Damon said he still couldn’t believe that Brad wasn’t nommed for Snatch and he thought what Brad did in that movie was unbelievably difficult – being funny without being understandable AND doing physical comedy in the fight scenes on top of it.
    .
Also, when it comes to Fight Club – at the time, people were just genuinely too appalled and freaked out by the movie to appreciate Brad’s performance or Ed Norton’s or Helena Bonham Carter’s. The critics slammed the movie pretty hard. I remember Brad telling the story about him and Ed Norton being at the Venice Film Festival, sitting in the very back laughing their asses off…and then realized they were the only 2 people in the whole theater who were laughing. Then they looked at each other and said, “Oh fvck! What have we done?” Or when he and Fincer read the British reviews and the one guy went on and on about the movie being “anarchic” and he and Fincher saying to each other, “Man, this is even better than we’d hoped for!” Needless to say – they’d have been shocked if they’d gotten any award attention at all – let alone the Oscars.

Harvey Weinstein has more lives than dozen cats. In 2008 Harvey, his brother Bob and Weinstein Company were circling the drain and people were cackling with glee. They were severely over-extended after having financed a bunch of box office duds. Around the same time Quentin Tarantino came to them with Inglorious ******** and said he wanted Brad for Aldo. Weinstein Brothers couldn’t afford to finance the entire movie so they shopped the movie around and Universal ended up winning the right to co-produce. The problem was – Brad was pissed at Uni for throwing him under the bus with State of Play. So Tarantino had to go to France and convince Brad to do the movie. Fastforward to 2009, Weinstein is barely hanging on waiting for IB (and the Friday the 13th reboot) to be released and save their bacon. Withouth IB the company probably would have had to file for bankruptcy. Also, in late 2010 they were able to secure an influx of cash from an investment company and that’s the other thing that’s put them back in the black. So Harvey lives to bribe and blackmail another day…
    .
As for why he has so many Oscar caliber films? Because Weinstein Company is the distributor, not the producer and financer, for a lot of independent films bought at film festivals like Cannes, Toronto & Venice. For instance – last year there was a lot of buzz on The King’s Speech but they didn’t have a U.S. distributor and Weinstein Company outbid the other distributors for the rights to distribute – and therefore market – the film. Same thing with The Artist this year. IIRC they bought those rights at Cannes. And they bought The Iron Lady at TIFF. Other producers will give Weinstein their movies to distribute because of Harvey’s rep of getting the job done at Oscar time. They don’t ask or care about the hows and whys of his methods as long as they win.

If Jean wins, it’s going to be another Bernini debacle. His accent is too French so he can only appear as a Frenchman in movies here in the US. Just like Roberto Bernini can only speak with an Italian accent. Did he ever have another memorable film after the Oscar’s? That’s just what’s going to happen with Dujardin. Unless he makes another silent movie…the sequeal to the Artist.

Getting the statuette isn’t what it’s all cracked up to be anyway. Sure, you get the prestige but if you aren’t a star with a fan base or you aren’t full of charisma to attract new ones, then you’re up the creek. Look at Resse’s pieces and Halle,Hillary and Charlize. I bet they’d had to lower the prices they set so high before just to get the romcoms and the Indies.

At least, the JPs still command high salaries (or backends) without all that houhah. OTOH, it would be nice for Brad to get another door stopper or a nutcracker for the kids.

I wouldn’t call Roberto Benigni’s win a “disaster”. He was never attempting to make an Oscar-friendly movie or to cross-over into American cinema. “Life Is Beautiful” was a personal movie based in part on Benigni’s own life. Foreign language films rarely cross-over in Academy voting but when they do the actors tend to be front-runners – see Marion Cotillard in La Vie en Rose, Gerard Depardieu in Cyrano de Bergerac. Plus the Academy has always had a special love for Italian films and actors – Massimo Troisi in Il Postino, Giancarlo Giannini, Marcello Mastroianni has been nommed a couple of times – and going way back, Sophia Loren in Two Women and Anna Magnani in The Rose Tattoo.

Miss Piggy to present BAFTA awards in Britain

    (AFP) – 1 hour ago

LONDON — The organisers of the BAFTA film awards in Britain have unveiled Miss Piggy as one of the show’s hosts, promising spiky questions for Hollywood luminaries George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

The glamorous pink star of “The Muppets” will be the red carpet host of the British Academy Film Awards 2012 on Sunday, the organisers said Monday.

She is honing her flirting skills as she prepares to meet Best Actor nominees Clooney, Pitt, Michael Fassbender, Gary Oldman and “The Artist” star Jean Dujardin at the Royal Opera House in London.

“Imagine the likes of Clooney, Dujardin, Fassbender, Oldman and Pitt achieving the very pinnacle of their careers by getting a chance to speak with the one and only moi — Miss Piggy,” she said.

“Naturally, I will be asking questions that only moi would dare to ask.”

The bejewelled pig even challenged “The Descendants” star Clooney — who is currently dating former wrestler Stacy Keibler — to a bout on the red carpet.

Miss Piggy declared: “I don’t wrestle girlfriends. However, if George wants to wrestle, bring it on. Best two out of three falls? Winner gets a dinner?”

Angelina Jolie, Meryl Streep Bring Political Movies to Berlin

Angelina Jolie on the set of her film “In the Land of Blood and Honey.” The movie, which marks her debut as director, will show at the Berlin

Angelina Jolie and Meryl Streep are among the stars flying in for this month’s Berlin Film Festival, bringing political movies to an event that promises to mix a dash of Hollywood glamour with hard-hitting, topical themes.

“There are a lot of films about revolutions and new dawns,” Dieter Kosslick, the festival’s director, said at a news conference to announce the program. “There’s a focus on people protesting to get rid of old, stale regimes.”

Jolie’s debut film as director, “In the Land of Blood and Honey,” is about the war in Bosnia and features actors who experienced it first-hand. Streep, who received her 17th Oscar nomination — she won twice — for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in “The Iron Lady,” will accept an honorary Golden Bear for her life’s work. The Thatcher biopic is one of seven movies showing in Streep’s honor.

Opening the festival is “Farewell My Queen,” a French drama featuring the last 24 hours in Marie Antoinette’s life, as she faces the guillotine. Starring Diane Kruger, it is one of 18 films competing for the Golden Bear for best film.

I agree that its bs tabloid fair….but I just wanted to post as a point of discussion, just as others post things about speculation on celebrity divorces, zee’s hair, chinny’s new paid escorts….all these things amount to tabloid bs as well, and yet they are posted here and discussed. On that basis, I will continue to post whatever I feel is relevant as a point of discussion or just to plain vent. Thanks!

    queenbee Says:

…Also,….wondering why my Billy-Bob post got thumbs down. Angelina and Billy-Bob are cordial, as I’m sure Brad and Billy-Bob are…..I’m sure we might see pictures of them together. He also said something nice about her in the article, so why the thumbing down? I’m as big a fan of Angellina and Brad as anybody on here…but are we so fanatic that we can’t even post a story of an Ex speaking KINDLY of them??? Some of you are as Loony as the hags!…and your meanspirited, irrational posts reflect that….get to thumbing down now… :)

    .

He doesn’t need to hire a publicist to even the score, he just has to speak about Angie in certain ways well knowing certain people ‘cringe’ at the laudatory talk about her. Love it.

    On Brad Pitt’s hair:

The true test of a man’s style is the haircut. There are some men who look good no matter how their hair is styled, whether it’s trendy or not. A man can change his haircut many times, but to pull off any haircut you have to be very chic. Like Brad Pitt.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Treat the Twins to a Movie

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took Vivienne and Knox to a screening of Lady and the Tramp at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theater yesterday. It was the latest fun outing for Brad and Angelina after they treated Shiloh, Zahara, and Knox to Cirque du Soleil’s OVO last Saturday. Brad’s been fitting family time in between promotional duties for Moneyball, with his latest stop on CBS This Morning, where he chatted about the movie and how his children have impacted his work. Brad talked more about the film and his home life, including Maddox’s love of flying lessons, last week when he taped an episode of Inside the Actors Studio, which will air this Friday.
