Madonna Covers 'The Advocate'

Madonna takes the cover of The Advocate‘s latest issue to chat about her new movie, W.E., and her upcoming album MDNA.

Here’s what the 53-year-old Material Girl had to share:

On relating to Wallis Simpson upon moving to England: “Like Wallis Simpson, I felt like an outsider. I thought, Life is so different here, and I’m used to being a New Yorker, and I have to learn how to drive on the other side of the road. Suddenly, I found myself living out in an English country house and trying to find my way in this world, so I decided to really take it on and do research and find out about English history and learn about the royal family.”

On Lady Gaga’s connection to her fans and whether it’s parallel to her own relationship with gay fans: “It seems natural, and I can see why she has a young gay following. I can see that they connect to her kind of not fitting into the conventional norm. I mean, she’s not Britney Spears. She’s not built like a brick s—house. She seems to have had a challenging upbringing, and so I can see where she would also have that kind of connection, a symbiotic relationship with gay men.”

On her daughter Lola: “I’m a strict mother. My daughter doesn’t know why I won’t allow her to get everything pierced or a tattoo or dye her hair blond on the tips and pink at the roots.”

id get real annoyed of being asked about gaga if i were her. as if gaga is on her same level. that’s like constantly asking angelina about megan fox or something.

“If you are threatened by me as a female or you think I’m doing too much or saying too much or being too much of a provocateur, then no matter how great of a song I write or how amazing of a film I make, you’re not going to allow yourself to enjoy it, because you’re going to be too entrenched in being angry with me or putting me in my place or punishing me.” Madonna

I see they are doing Everything to hide those wrinkles! Adding lots of colour and other imagery!

“strict” yet she leads by “example”. collective eye roll.

Sadly most girls were raised without enough supervision to be protected from the filth she peddled for decades cause their parents had to work one or two jobs to support them without nannies and body guards to protect them.

# 6

Gays are the only followers she has left aside from the Media/ Elites.

To be honest, I think she’s using Gaga to help maintain relevance. Before she had plans to release M.D.N.A. and do the Superbowl, she never even mentioned Gaga.

… now that she needs publicity, on the other hand, she’s talking about her in almost everything media outlet she is in.

challenging upbringing?!?!? Lady Gaga grew up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan!! PLEASE!

@Luke: Or she was focused on other projects like a full motion picture and wanted to let Gaga dig her own hole after snubbing Madonna in her Grammy speech. Did you ever think Madonna maybe doing the same thing she’s doing to Elton right now? She lets them talk talk talk. Lauri Ann Gibson (Gagas creative Director @ the time) – Are you inspired by dancers like Madonna? “Madonna hell no no no NO!” … this why the Alejandro & the Grammy dance moves look very Familiar. Gaga’s Grammy acceptance speech for the BTW single” I wanna thank Whitney Houston” . What?!?!? While wearing a cone bra and ponytail. Lauri Anna regarding Madonna Gaga comparisons ” WE copied Madonna and she should be bitter”. Elton on Madonna @ the Golden Globes ” she doest have a F****** chance of winning “. This is everything that went done with those clowns while Madonna sat back a laughed Im sure.

@Luke: I think you got it twisted Gaga has used Madonna not the other way around

im english. Her comments about moving here are so dumb. She felt like an outsider so she decided to read up about the royal family, as if that’s the key to fitting into british society. what a fool.

@shaboo: My husband is english although we never moved there I visited Norwich with his mom who was born there. Since then I became very interested in the Royal Family. So to you it may not make sense but it makes sense to me. Its not a big deal to you but I was blown away seeing the crown jewels, visiting Buckingham, Sandringham, hearing the stories on the tours. Its pretty impressive history and lineage.

@Luke: because she’s asked, r u really that stupid?

it might have interested you and that’s great. but the woman is acting as if knowledge of the royal family facilitates being accepted and its not. I’m just pointing out that she has a very idealised ‘oh this is so english…let’s shave tea and scones/ walk the corgis’ attitude.
