Daniel Craig Suits Up for 'Skyfall'

Daniel Craig looks dapper on the set of Skyfall on Friday (February 3) in London, England.

The 43-year-old actor got back to work shooting scenes for the latest James Bond action flick, which is being directed by Sam Mendes.

“The Bonds are very hard work in the sense of they take two years of your life. Also, I went from nought to 60 really rapidly and it’s a big change in your head,” Daniel recently said about taking on the role of iconic 007.

In case you missed it, check out the first official still from Skyfall!

Possible ‘Skyfall’ shooting at Brecon Beacons scrapped
Skyfall (Bond 23) – 31-01-12

As previously reported, permission was given last week for filming to take place at Brecon Beacons.

It was widely speculated to be the 23rd James Bond film “Skyfall” that had secured filming permission, but this press rumour was never confirmed.

Now, the BBC reports that the film company, still shrouded in mystery, has scrapped plans to shoot at the Welsh landmark.

“Logistical filming factors” have been blamed for the company pulling out.

The park authority, which had fast-tracked the planning request, said it was “incredibly disappointed”.

The crew was expected to number 200 and inject more than £1m into the local economy.

Troublefree Bond @ 02/03/2012 at 12:21 pm

I very am curious if producers will also cancel shooting in Bognor Regis for some funny reasons like “logistical filming factors.”
When producers cancelled shooting in six exotic countries so the problem was this: “aerial filming factors.”

I have read that the budget is cut dramatically. I ask how much dramatically because much probably they have a problem with paying even land transportation. Previous two Bonds were troublefree because they had the money to secure beautiful locations, build interiors and exteriors, hire hotel, restaurant and casino, pay travel costs, staff, catering and other million stuff. it’s all about money, nothing more and you can see clearly why Bond won’t be filmed in foreign locations and now even in home british locations. I This movie won’t be even finished, they will make just a half of the movie and “end”. You’ll see it next months.

Ohhhhh, Daniel you hottie!! I love me some HIM!

Great actor and that’s all that matters.

Daniel is such a Manly Man!

you reminded me something,
when I see these fans who are excited about Daniel and Skyfall so I must smile when I remember their “the same excitement” when Cowboys failed because these fans did not pay for movie tickets, how Dream House was not released in most countries so fans had no chance to watch it on the silver screen and things around Dragon Tattoo don’t go on their smooth way, in the beginning of release in the UK and US the movie seemed to be unwatchable for families during XMas and now gets non-release or limited censorship in Asia.

when there will do something wrong with Skyfall (after cancelled six locations and one place in the UK, awkward funeral scenes and horrible plot regarding character M) so I ask where these fans will be with their excitement(:-

aw Daniel looks so darn hot and ahmmazing! He knows always captures the dramatic action on the movie. He’s so ruggedly handsome in that suit, can’t keep my eyes off of him, wow!

Rooney Mara Talks at THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, the Sequels, David Fincher, and More at SBIFF
http://collider.com/rooney-mara-dragon-tattoo-sequels-interview/143074/
(QUOTE)
Your character has such a complicated relationship in the film with Daniel Craig’s character. How did that affect the way the two of you, as actors, related to each other when you weren’t shooting? Did you try to get to know each other, or did you keep a distance?

MARA: I think me and Daniel are both quite aloof and guarded people, so we didn’t bond that much. We didn’t have that much to shoot together. But, we did spend quite a lot of time rehearsing with David [Fincher] and the rest of the cast, and with Steve Zaillian, just reading through the script and trying to make things work. We were lucky, in that we started off shooting in Stockholm. For the first few months, everything we were shooting was pretty insignificant. It was coming in and out of doors. So, we had a lot of time to get comfortable with each other before we went to L.A. and did the meat of the movie.

When you finished filming, what did you do first, to try to get back to being you again?

MARA: I don’t know. I think I tried not to do anything for awhile. It was hard to come off of the movie. There wasn’t really a day that it was over because we had to wait around for re-shoots. I waited as long as I could to take out some of the piercings. I wouldn’t say I was really dying to change anything right away.

What’s the time frame, before you have to get back into being Lisbeth Salander again?

MARA: I don’t really know. That’s a better question for Sony, I guess. I’m happy to have a little bit of a break, but I’m definitely looking forward to doing the next two. I would be really happy to do that.

Are you eager to revisit the character of Lisbeth Salander?

MARA: I’m happy to have a little break, but I am eager to revisit her. But, I’m happy to have a break first.

Is there anything you’re most looking forward to, in going back?

MARA: I’m just excited to go back into that world and go back to Sweden.

How do you feel about the prospect of maybe doing The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest simultaneously?

MARA: I’d love to do that. That would be a smart way to do it.

Would it be harder to be in that space for a longer period of time like that?

MARA: No. I don’t think it would be any harder than doing it, coming out of it, and then going back into it. I think it actually would be easier to do it, all at once.

What have you enjoyed about working so closely with David Fincher?

MARA: Everything about working with David is amazing. I wouldn’t trade anything about him. I love working with him.

If David Fincher decides not to do the other films, would it be difficult for you to go ahead and do them with another director?

MARA: Yeah, of course, it would be hard. But, it wouldn’t be without David’s blessing, and I would get through it.

The Name is Khan……..James Khan……
http://kslice47.wordpress.com/2012/02/06/the-name-is-khan-james-khan/
Well it’s been a month since we last spoke and what a month it has been!

First things first, the title. It is referring to my MI6 ID (see below) from the upcoming James Bond movie entitled “Skyfall.” To put it into context, as much as I would love to say I am Bond indian counterpart in the equivalent agency this is not the case. I am an extra in the scene where the new Q Branch is introduced. We started shooting in the second week of January. Here’s my journey through that time.

On the 9th of January I made my way to Pinewood, situated in Uxbridge. Bit of a pain in the ass having to get there as coming from Oxford you sorta go past Uxbridge to have to get to London first and then back to Pinewood. But no matter, I turned up about 11 and met some of my fellow extras there. This was just going to be a costume fitting. Now from my experience on working on “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” the costume department on that set was very simple. They asked me to bring a pair of shoes and black trousers and they provided me with a shirt. Very simple. On Skyfall however the attention to detail is incredible. I was dressed in almost 6 different outfits before they found one they liked, changing one outfit because they didn’t like how the buttons on my sweater clashed with the tie I was wearing! BUTTONS! Just wow, but I did love the outfit they put me in, was very office chic, lol. I think I was dressed primarily in Ralph Lauren and Banana Republic. Very nice. So that was that.

On the friday, I came back for the first day of shooting and got to meet all the other extras involved. One of them actually being from Solent Uni, never ceases to amaze me how small this world is sometimes. In the interest of keeping the mystique of the film alive, I won’t reveal any plot details but needless to say, the set design was incredible. I saw two of the sets that are going to be used, one of which I would be spending the majority of my time over the next few weeks. I can however say that from everything I’ve seen, I am very excited about this Bond film and believe that it may well be the best of Daniel Craig’s so far.

So that Friday we were shooting a scene with Daniel Craig who is of course James Bond and Mr Ben Whishaw who is the new Q. Now we were told that this would be the only day that DC would be on set the same time as us so I made it my mission to try to talk to him before the end of the day, that gave me roughly 8 hours. Just to explain, I didn’t want to talk to him to mob him like an insane fan, no I wanted to get some advice on my upcoming audition at Guildhall, a school from which he had graduated himself a few years ago.

Now anyone whose done any extra work will know that the majority of the time is spent sat around not really doing a whole lot. So that Friday out of the 10 odd hours I was at Pinewood I maybe had only 3 hours of actual contact time within which to grab him. The other that most people who will have done extra work will know is that you are kept very separate from the talent. However, the production assistant, Ollie, who was looking after us seemed like a nice enough guy and I thought it wouldn’t do any harm to press my luck for an introduction. As we wrapped our last part for the day, we were being led off set and I got caught at the back of the crowd, Ollie was at the front leading me and the rest of the extras back to our holding area. I tried to make my way up to him quickly to ask him for this introduction. Half way to him I spotted a flash of a smart grey suit out of the corner of my eye to my right. Who else should it be but the man himself! I thought to myself that I would never get a chance like this again and did a 180 and walked straight up to him and said hi. I do feel a little bad about interrupting the chap who was speaking to him when I walked up and if you’re reading this I apologise profusely. The conversation went something like this,

Me: Hi!
DC: Hello. (Smiles)
Me: First of all, I’m a big fan of your work. (Thought it wise to open with a compliment rather than be blunt)
DC: (Smiles) Thanks. (Goes to walk away)
Me: Actually, I did want to ask your advice on something. (DC turns back towards me) My name is Kalam, and I have an audition at Guildhall coming up next month.
DC: (Laughs heartily but genuinely interested look on his, I thought anyway) Good Luck!
Me: I know right! But I was basically wondering if you had any advice for me, I know you graduated from there a few years ago.
DC: Well, sure, okay, firstly, make sure you know your lines! And be yourself around them, they don’t like posers. Try and do pieces that will set you apart from the crowd and pieces that will make them remember you. Don’t be disheartened if you don’t get in the first time, I didn’t get in the first time myself, but they remembered me from the year before. But yeah, make sure they remember you, just be yourself and give it your best shot.
Me: That’s amazing. Thank you for the advice.
DC: Not a problem at all, good luck!

We shook hands and went off in different directions. Sound advice from Mr Bond himself and it definitely solidified in my mind that Guildhall is definitely where I wanted to go to carry on my training. And it was an absolute pleasure to talk to that big of a movie star and see that actually they are just regular people and if you’re polite and respectful you’ll get it in return.

The next few days passed fairly uneventfully, the waiting around got steadily longer and longer with one day where we didn’t actually get used at all! I did however meet some wonderful people on the job, a few of which I will be staying touch with. Our “holding area” was basically on a catering bus where we spent most of our time, by the third day we wised up and people had started to bring books, handheld consoles etc in with them for entertainment. But mostly it was just great banter between folk.

On one of the last days I decided to jump off the bus as it was getting quite stuffy in there. It happened from time to time, 30 bodies and a fairly powerful heater on the bus, so I wanted some air. As I came off, I was faced with the back of a man who was on the phone and I didn’t recognise from any of the extras as he had his arm in a sling. Thinking nothing of I walked past him to take a little stroll and turned round after a few steps not wanting to wander too far from the bus in case we were called back on to set. When I did, who else would the man turn out to be but Ralph Fiennes.

I must have had a bit of a deer caught in the headlights expression on my face as he grinned when he spotted me. Again that thought of not having opportunities like this flashed across my mind. So I waited until he was off the phone and approached him. This conversation I don’t remember as well as the one with Daniel Craig as it was a bit more broad, but we had a nice little discussion about his time at RADA and his brothers time at Guildhall. Again just lovely to speak to someone who encourages you in that way.

Shortly after that was done for my time on Bond. I loved every second of it even thought in the total amount of days I spent on set, I was only maybe used for about 4/5 hours of it! Quite insane lol! But I enjoyed it, got to speak to some major players of british acting and made a friend or two out of it too.

Now onwards and upwards, this time next week I’ll know if I’ve gotten through to the next round of auditions in Guildhall as I have my preliminary audition next Monday afternoon. I’m a little nervous as this is the first time I’m going back into performing since uni and I feel rusty.

But following DC’s advice, I know my lines down pat, I have no problem being myself around strangers and I hope the pieces I’ve chosen to do will set me apart from the crowd. So fingers crossed, and wish me luck. This year has had a good start to it and I hope that’s a trend I can keep going for the next few months :-)

Adios Cabrons! x

‘Skyfall’ crew capture scenes in Scotland

James Bond was in his ancestral territory this week, shooting sequences in the shadow of the mountain Buachaille Etive Mòr.

The name means, in rough translation, “the great herdsman of Etive”.

Filming, according to the Daily Record two identical Aston Martin DB5s were involved in a chase along the A82 from the production’s base at Glencoe’s ski centre.

007 star, Daniel Craig was not spotted on location and no information has emerged to indicate that Craig was in attendance during the “Skyfall” crew’s time in Scotland.

James Bond last went to Scotland during “The World Is Not Enough” for the funeral of Sir Robert King. Here, “M” established her base of oppressions in an abandoned castle.

Hell ya, nothing for modern and young audience who gladly went to watch Casino Royale and they left theaters disappointed as Quantum of Solace was not good.
Skyfall’s plot is more than disappointing.
If producers didn’t reveal this plot so it would be just good for them. When people read more and more of the boring plot and what is Skyfall about so they won’t go to see how M established her base in an abandoned castle.
From the beginning, I said that Sam Mendes is old-fashioned person!

Skyfall soundtrack is probably this witchy song: “Buachaille Etive Mòr!!!”

I wonder if they don’t feel a shame to shoot in funny locations and if they don’t feel that huge change as they were used to shoot in the most attractive locations.
Is Italy or Greece too much expensive or what or they do have just a few pounds that they can afford to film just an abandoned castle??

Yeah, Harewood has played host to a number of well known television programmes such as Heartbeat, A Touch of Frost, At Home with the Braithwaite’s, The Royal, Lost in Austen and Emmerdale.
You know, Daniel was in “Heartbeat”! And I really really love “A Touch of Frost”…

Well, Dragon Tattoo is banned in India and got limited censorship in Japan so I was curious and asked which another Asian country will not screen this movie, now there is this: “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” not come to Vietnam.
- – - – - –
“The film was scheduled to come out in Vietnam on March 2. However, it will not be screened in Vietnam.

It is said that the censorship asked the distributor to cut off some scenes in the movie. However, Sony Picture did not agree and it decided to not show the movie in Vietnam.

However, the distributor in Vietnam told VietNamNet that it is the decision of Sony Picture, to not show “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” in Vietnam. The withdrawal has no connection to the Vietnamese censorship because the film had not been submitted to the national film censorship board yet.

This movie was recently banned in India after the distributor refused to cut some sensitive scenes in the movie.

No Tattoo in Malaysia? @ 02/09/2012 at 5:23 pm

this whole thing is strange because long time ago I made points that Dragon Tattoo will not be released or will do low results at box office and in the end it did all this way: the movie was released in the US and did bad during first weeks at the box office, then the movie raised some millions and suprise came and the movie is banned in big countries like India and Japan. Audience in these two big countries would spend huge money to see Dragon Tattoo but when this movie is banned in these countries so producers lost opportunity make good money like did Cruise with his Mission Impossible:Ghost Protocol.

If Dragon Tattoo was not banned and didn’t get censorship so producers would calmly make $400-$500 million. I said that I am still scratching my head if this movie will make $300 million or not. Well, Sony wants to announce a release of DVD Dragon Tattoo to the end of February so it’s clear theaters close the movie in US and Europe soon. I think it’s quite big fiasco when the movie cannot be screened in Asia. some days ago I joked the movie maybe won’t be released in Malaysia and now this came:

“On a related note, previously, “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” was also removed from Malaysia’s original 2012 cinematic line-up, only to be brought back and rescheduled for a late February release. This could be due to multiple Oscar nods it has received, as well as the critical acclaim the movie met with in Singapore, which saw an early 2012 release to a R21 rating.

“The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” releases in Malaysia come 23 February 2012. However, as the highest level of classification in Malaysia is only 18, there is a possibility that it may subjected to severe censorship.

Elzer Biz @ 02/09/2012 at 5:45 pm

When David Fincher’s “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)” performed below the expectation on the box office, questions whether Sony Pictures remains interested in developing its sequel arose. Steve Elzer, a representative for the studio, was quick to put off any speculations and confirmed that “The Girl Who Played with Fire (2013)” is “moving forward.”

“The film has performed very well in its first two weeks of release,” said Elzer, “and with great word of mouth and excellent reviews, it will continue to do strong and steady business into the new year.”
__________________________
Well, Elzer, somewhat I didn’t believe you, and I said: “of course, you steady business.”

Now you can close this strong steady business because the movie is banned in several countries in Asia and as for this sequel, make the movie cheaper if you don’t want to lose all budget and let money be thrown into the air.
- – -
As for Europe, American studios first see domestical earnings, then they focus primarily on Europe where they make more money so I am actually surprised why Dragon Tattoo didn’t make more money, ha…. why? where is that huge audience? Yeah, it’s too cold.

if Dragon Tattoo will make about $250 million so producers just get what they invested in the movie budget and marketing, maybe they get some plus money.
People blabbed that this movie was the highly anticipated movie of the year etc., so everyone could expect this movie will make over $$600-$800 million but look, studio will be happy to get at least $250 million.

What about Singapore and Korea – will Dragon Tattoo be screened there at all?

(PICS) GALLERY: James Bond lands in Scotland as Skyfall films in the Highlands

Oh, Daniel… Be careful not to catch a cold. Take it easy!

James Bond star Daniel Craig in Glencoe filming new movie Skyfall – exclusive pictures here
http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/showbiz/2012/02/10/james-bond-star-daniel-craig-in-glencoe-filming-new-movie-skyfall-exclusive-pictures-here-86908-23742760/
HE kept us waiting for days but 007 star Daniel Craig finally arrived in Scotland to film scenes for the new James Bond movie yesterday.
And although it wasn’t the most glamorous location Bond has visited, it was a real homecoming for the character as the Skyfall cameras rolled in Buachaille Etive Mor and Glencoe.

Bond author Ian Fleming loved the area and wrote that the spy’s father Andrew hailed from Glencoe.
Production crews have been in Scotland for a few days but the big stars turned up yesterday, with Dame Judi Dench joining Craig in the Highlands.
Director Sam Mendes is thought to be keen to connect with Bond’s roots for the 23rd film in the series and the producers are also rumoured to have visited the Dalness Estate, which once belonged to Fleming’s family.
But it was a chilly return as the cast and crew faced near-zero temperatures during shooting – and there was no sign of Craig’s trademark blue swimming trunks.
Craig, 43, and Dench, 77, were spotted filming a scene together.
Bond – dressed in a sharp grey suit, blue shirt and blue tie – and his spy boss M, wearing a purple three-quarter length coat – were seen chatting next to a single track road in a misty glen.
One onlooker said: “Daniel must have been cold standing all that time in the middle of nowhere. It’s exciting having Bond filming on your doorstep.”
The track, an hour’s walk from the A82, was closed all day for filming.
Unlike the main star, Mendes and the rest of the crew got to wrap up in winter woolies.
Racing driver and stuntman Ben Collins – who outed himself as Top Gear’s “The Stig” in 2010 – was also spotted behind the wheel of a vintage Aston Martin on the set.
Skyfall is the third Bond film to shoot in Scotland. Parts of the Faslane naval base was used in The Spy Who Loved Me, while Eilan Donan Castle was a secret MI6 base visited by Pierce Brosnan in The World is Not Enough.
Skyfall, which will also be filmed in Shanghai, Turkey and London, is due out in October.

@Fio. Thank you for the pics. Looks great in EVERY pics! After all, all are going according to their plan, like Mendes said. Some people were misled by false rumors as ever, though. Lol

Hi Guinness, welcome back!!!

It’s been so quiet without you!

“zyrtec, ibuprophen, stomach virus, strep throat, upper respiratory infection”

And I thought I was hard done by this winter! Hope you are feeling better now!

“Mendel? you got any wet ones with dan?”

You bet! *grin*

“cant find him… or a job! I wish I could give him a job.”

OH MY…LOL!

“carp–i wrote “member”, but not his–but I am thinking about hi smember…ocrap.”

Now I am thinking about his…too!

“I have to pick a really good one for Vallentiness DAY”

Looking forward to it :)

to “Daniel at the BAFTAs”

“So Brad, Angelina, George, Meryl, Miss Cruz and Daniel Craig will all be at the #BAFTAs”

I thought I saw him in the audience…so it wasn’t just my imagination or wishful thinking ;)

he didin’t attend

BAFTAs: Lots of Daniel Craig nakedness in new Bond, says Naomie Harris
http://uk.omg.yahoo.com/gossip/the-bike-shed/baftas-lots-daniel-craig-nakedness-bond-says-naomie-212512178.html
Actress Naomie Harris has confirmed there will be LOTS of Daniel Craig nakedness in the new Bond film.
Speaking exclusively to omg! on the BAFTAs red carpet tonight, the British actress who stars in the new film Skyfall said: “You’ll see enough [of Daniel Craig with his top off]. You won’t be disappointed.”

And having had first hand experience of the Bond star without his shirt on, she added that his body is pretty hot.

She told us: “He’s really really really buff. He suffers from being too good looking.”
Talking about working with her fellow she said: “Daniel is amazing. He does 14 hour days of filming and then after that he does two hours of training. He works so hard. And he keeps the atmosphere light and humorous on set.”

And she told us she’s having a ball of a time on the set of the film.

She said: “It’s amazing. I’m having the time of my life. I’m being looked after so well. They’ve given me a driver. And I’m training four days a week.

“Sam mendes is such a lovely director, it’s a very calm atmosphere on set. Very intimate. Sometimes it feels like a low budget film. Often I forget that it’s Bond.”

I think it’s the good news for everyone..
TGWTDT is the No.1 at the the box office in Japan.
It earned 1.5 times The Social Network the first weekend.
I am not in the least surprised because the film had good word-of-mouth publicity, and the almost critics were lavish in their praise (even the merciless critics).

“You’ll see enough [of Daniel Craig with his top off]. You won’t be disappointed.”

‘s getting rather hot in here… *grin*
