“Every year music programs are cut from schools all around the country. But if music hadn’t been so important in my school, I probably wouldn’t be standing here right now,” says the 29-year-old singer, who’s serving as its spokesperson.

The goal of the campaign: to encourage students to take action by creating a video explaining why music education is important to them. Top videos receive up to $5,000 in grant funding, 30 tickets to a concert of their choice, musical intruments, and up to $10,000 in scholarships or groups.
