'House' Is Ending After Eight Seasons

FOX’s long-running medical drama, House, is coming to an end after eight seasons.

“The decision to end the show now, or ever, is a painful one, as it risks putting asunder hundreds of close friendships that have developed over the last eight years — but also because the show itself has been a source of great pride to everyone involved,” executive producers David Shore, Katie Jacobs, and star Hugh Laurie said in a joint statement.

“The producers have always imagined House as an enigmatic creature; he should never be the last one to leave the party. How much better to disappear before the music stops, while there is still some promise and mystique in the air,” they added.

“Everyone at House will bid farewell to the audience and to each other with more than a few tears, but also with a deep feeling of gratitude for the grand adventure they have been privileged to enjoy for the last eight years. If the show lives on somewhere, with somebody, as a fond memory, then that is a precious feat, of which we will always be proud.”

House will air its final episode in April.

I’m sad that the show is ending and even more that it’s now not going to get the recognition from award shows it deserved (especially for Hugh Laurie’s performance). But it is the right time, I always saw it lasting either 8 or 9 seasons. You’ll be missed House!

It was only just starting to be sorta watchable now that the awful untalented Lisa Edelstein got kicked. Left by choice ha! she blatantly held out for more money and got shot down and oncce the Huddy bull… was over it got good again. Shame, but its totally time it hasnt been at its best in years, coincidentally since Shore and LE tried to cram Huddy into everything when its was so cringing…

i’m glad that it has come to an end…after Lisa Edelstein and Olivia Wilde left, it just wasn’t the same. And I’ll guess the couldn’t keep up with the raitings..after all – huddy had a huge fanbase and Lisa Edelstein is a great actress.

There was a show in the 80′s called Moonlighting that I loved to watch. One the sexual tension between the 2 characters was consummated, the show was over. Same scenario here
