Whitney Houston Family Statement Released

Whitney Houston‘s family just released a statement on Sunday afternoon (February 12).

“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Whitney,” the family tells “This is an unimaginable tragedy and we will miss her terribly. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from her fans and friends. — The Houston Family.”

Yesterday, Whitney‘s ex-husband Bobby Brown also released a statement of his own: “I am deeply saddened at the passing of my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. At this time, we ask for privacy, especially for my daughter, Bobbi Kristina. I appreciate all of the condolences that have been directed towards my family and I at this most difficult time.”

Last night, Bobby also performed a show at the Landers Center in Southaven as part of the New Edition reunion tour.

“First and foremost, I want to tell you that I love you all for being here,” Bobby told to the crowd. “Second, I would like to say, ‘I love you, Whitney.’ “

oh goodness, how could he perform only 12 hours after?
maybe y’all will get off nick carter’s back now.
maybe performing is truly cathartic for them??

@I Like Gray Cats other performers have said the same thing Celine Dion performed a show minutes after learning her dad had died

I hope we consider with love, the battles we each face and take pause in casting reckless commentary regarding the faults we see in others. RIP Whitney.

  • WTF?

Indeed, the show must go on unfortunately. I am pretty sure he was a complete mess in the process though.

They are divorced so I can’t see why he would race to be with Whitney or even her family. He probably needed the money. I could see him leaving right away to be with his daughter seeing that she so distraught.

  • Reg

Bobby Brown can take the blame for this loss.

  • -_-

@Reg: Its incredibly sad how her career went downhill and her life ended. But she had problems before meeting Bobby, and so did he. They were both led to each others demise. Whitney wore the pants in that marriage and you cant put everything on him. Yes he is to blame but at the end of the day she was also responsible for her own decisions. When someone passes away people always want to point the finger towards someone which only makes it harder to get over the loss. The family’s main concern right now should be Whitney and Bobby’s daughter.

  • George

@Reg: She was doing drugs when she was dating Eddie Murphy in the 80s. Eddie was a big time drug addict during the 80s, when she met Bobby, they both were on drugs, but there one thing that can’t be denied, they truly loved each other, they never dated anyone else after the divorce.

  • Too bad

For the people talking about his performing right after her death, what you have to keep in mind is that the show must go on. It’s very sad. However, especially for a famous artist like Celine etc. you have to do what you committed yourself to. It’s their job. If a show was already planned, it can’t be canceled just like that. Maybe after this particular show they made, they went home and cried their hearts out. Anyway, RIP Whitney Houston, we lost a legend<3

  • Too bad

I didn’t know Whitney Houston had such an impact on my life. I felt really bad when I heard the news this morning. And though she was part of my childhood, I didn’t know I would feel that way. I don’t want to imagine how I will feel when Mariah Carey will die one day!! :/

Whitney may have topped the chart blazing records of Tina Turner and Donna Summer, but in the end Tina and Donna got it together, and rose above their demons. Today at 62, Donna Summer can take the stage and deliver a full concert with a voice as strong, and clear as ever. By taking care of your voice, and body, you can have a musical career that last for decades. Had Whitney been that great, she too would have risen above her demons.
