For the trained or informed viewer the message becomes utterly predictable only after the introduction part of the story. After that it is highly insulting for the Serbs and all factually informed people who personally know about civil war. Angelina could have done it so much better and fairer with her not really informative story line in her debut that smells of dubious and occasionally even obvious subjectivity. On the other hand; if Madonna can get a Golden Globe for a song nobody really knows, I would not be surprised if she gets an Oscar for a movie nobody will remember.

You know, I watched the interview and see how passionate and knowledgeable Angie is about the conflict in that area, I get emotional and teary eye. Not because Angie is THE JOLIE, the prettiest and smartiest superstar in HW, but I see her as a PERSON who is really doing her best to help others the best way she knows how or the best way she can.

I love her because of all the things she’s doing to better the world. If an admirer like me, who has never meet her can love Angie and feel and understand where she’s coming from and be proud of her, I am sure her family, specially Brad, his parents/siblings are probably so proud and admire her so much.

Continued success Angie and Brad. And may Allah, God, Yahwee, Buddha guide you and protect you and your family.

“In the Land of Blood and Honey,” is a mix of the powerful and the ridiculous, and eventually the ridiculous wins. The movie deals with a big subject that has received scant treatment in movies – the genocide in Bosnia in the 1990s – giving voice and testimony to what happened there. But the ill-conceived fictional elements take the picture right off the rails.

Ultimately, Jolie seems to have in mind turning “In the Land of Blood and Honey” into “The Last Tango in Paris” of war movies. Danijel installs Ajla in a room and shows up daily, either to make love to her or argue with her, to comfort her or to rape her. It all depends on his mood. The situation is too ugly to laugh at, but the psychology becomes too muddled to take seriously. Gradually, the awful thought begins to dawn that Jolie might actually see this setup as erotic.
