Kate Bosworth: Charlie Chaplin Oscar Anniversary!

Kate Bosworth: Charlie Chaplin Oscar Anniversary!

Kate Bosworth arrives at a celebration for the 40th anniversary of Charlie Chaplin‘s honorary Academy Award on Tuesday (February 21) at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.

The 29-year-old actress, wearing a Stella McCartney dress with Miu Miu heels, hit the carpet with beau Michael Polish before heading inside the party.

Earlier in the afternoon, Kate and Michael arrived at LAX Airport after jetting in from England.

The two had checked out Burberry‘s Fall/Winter 2012 collection during London Fashion Week.

FYI: Kate is carrying a JewelMint clutch.

    Lilla Says:

    @ladybug: I wasn’t impressed either. She was with OB the first time I met her, so my dislike started then. She wasn’t nice.

    @Lilla: I wasn’t really paying attention to her them, I heard of her because of Blue Crush and Orly (I’m a major LOTR fangirl and so the sites would mention them) so when she started dating AS I had no preconceived notions. I’m sure some of the ‘haters’ didn’t like her because she’d been dating Orly or whatever, but when you start paying attention you realize she doesn’t seem to be that well like, regardless of who she’s dating. I’d like to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that her pretentiousness is just over-compensating for being very insecure, but she doesn’t seem to realize it. Or care. That’s why the tweets are sad in some way, it’s just trying to reinforce her confidence and she ends up looking like a self-promoting arrogance.

    Lilla Says:

    @ladybug: My last post came out wrong, I don’t dislike her for who she has dated. She just wasn’t nice to to me & I had no idea why. She does seem to be very insecure though.
    Her Twitter is proof of that.

    @Lilla:
    Oooh do tell. It would put to rest some of the stans comments about her being so nice even though they’ve never met her. It would be nice to hear from someone who actually has met her. My impression of her is that she’s a stuck up snot who thinks she’s above everyone, but I’ve not met her, so like I said it’s just an impression.

    ladybug Says:

    @Lilla: Oh, I think I didn’t clarify mine, I didn’t presume because it was the time she was dating OB that it was OB related, but I’m presuming that’s the reason a tiny minority of those who dislike dislike her because of who’s she’s dated. Of course, if you believe her stans, it’s the only reason that’s she’s disliked-it’s because we’re fat, jealous fan girls.

    Lilla Says:

    @ladybug: Oh, I understood your post, I just didn’t like how my other one sounded :) I love the comments about those of us that don’t like her because we must be fat, like an ex etc. I don’t like her from my own personal experiences, but they choose not to believe that.

    Macy, I’ll say this, from my experiences, the face she puts on in public is very different from who she is when the cameras aren’t rolling.

    @Lilla: “Macy, I’ll say this, from my experiences, the face she puts on in public is very different from who she is when the cameras aren’t rolling.”
    But, but she was with OB for 4 years, and then that other guy for something like 3 years and AS for over a year, so obviously they’re seeing something that you, in your jealous fangirlness, cannot see! (trying to channel a stan).

    Macy Says:

    @Lilla:
    I’m not suprised by that at all. Like I said, I think she’s a phony and a stuck up snob. I’m sure she smiles and tries to be cute when she knows someone’s looking, and then when nobody is around she’s a b*tch.

  9. 134
    Lilla Says:

    @ladybug: Haha!!! That was funny!
    @Macy, you’re correct.

  10. 135
    Macy Says:

    @Lilla:
    I figured as much. She’s pretty easy to read.

  11. 136
    ladybug Says:

    @Macy: No, it’s because she’s very insecure:
    “I was only 14,” she recalls, “and I felt such an imposter, like any moment someone would find me out. But my dad told me it was something I had to do, so that, when I became a lawyer, I could look back and say, well, at least I was there.”
    The experience ended up being an epiphany for her. “I realised that, as an only child, I had been ¦ craving that feeling of community, that closeness of a large family. When the movie finished filming, I sobbed saying goodbye to everyone. But I’m like that – I get very emotionally connected to people. Perhaps overly so. It’s a kink I’ve had to sort out since.”
    She’s just overcompensating, see? /snark

  12. 137
    Macy Says:

    @ladybug:
    LOL I see what you did there.

  13. 138
    ladybug Says:

    @Macy: That’s from the Times of London interview last Fall, the one where she claimed she had actual vertigo after the OB relationship ended. It’s the type of interview where she tries to sound like she’s introspective and self-aware and fails. OTHO, at least she didn’t mention how great Great Danes were and how hot tea makes her hot.

  14. 139
    Macy Says:

    @ladybug:
    Hahahah! Oh god those quotes are gold. I especially love “actual” vertigo as opposed to the kind that is “pretend” vertigo. Good grief, what an airhead.

  15. 140
    ladybug Says:

    @Macy: But she was accepted into Princeton, she’s not an airhead!
    A twit pic, she mentions the Vanity Fair party:

  16. 141
    Tanter Says:

    So did she ditch her lifepartner to go alone to the Vanity Fair party and would that have something to do with Alex also going? Might explain why he looked a bit tense (IMO he does, but I could be speculating. He looked a lot more relaxed posing at the Spirit Awards).

  17. 142
    ladybug Says:

    @Tanter: He did look a little more tense, though he could be tired as well.
    It’s strange, she apparently was at the VF party, but they’ve not really tweeted about it and there don’t seem to be any pics of her there. Have they suddenly become low-key?
    @Macy, this is the quote: “Bosworth describes the film as “a chronicle of a nervous breakdown”, something she came near to suffering, as she makes very clear, when she broke up with Bloom.
    THE “Oh, I definitely know the feeling of pain, that’s for sure,” she says. “You know when you put all your chips into something, then it disappears? It sent me into such pain, I think I had actual vertigo. I was, like, ‘Is this my new reality? Will anything be normal again?’ Then one day you wake up and you think, okay, I’ll never be the same, but I’ll survive and I’ll grow from it.”

    Crew Member Says:

    @Lilla:
    You are so correct. I have had the misfortune of working with her twice now and she is a terror to those she deems beneath her. Not a nice person at all.

  19. 144
    Macy Says:

    What the hell is that photo of? Her arm?

  20. 145
    Jule Says:

    @Crew Member and @Lilla:
    Can you specify about KB being “not nice” and give some examples? I mean – is she unfriendly, snappish, moody,….? What on the other hand do you think did OB, AS and MP see in her then?
    I mean – lets face it: I think we all have known some really terrible girls at school, university etc. who got the greatest guys at their side, for what reason whatsoever. :-/

    I don`t personally know her, but I don`t like her for commenting about her figure as being “naturally toned” by walking her dogs and some swimming and that all women in her family easily lose weight when they are busy/in stressful times. Come on, isn`t it perfectly clear, that she must be dieting very strictly all the time? And in my eyes she is looking anorexic…

  21. 146
    Jeannie Says:

    @Jule: Hi, I’m not going to give specifics, but I just felt dismissed. I guess in her eyes, I was a nobody & couldn’t advance her career, so I wasn’t worthy. Now, my friend thinks its because I took some attention from her, apparently being foreign makes me interesting.

  22. 147
    Jeannie Says:

    @Jeannie: who are you & stop posting under my name.
