OlderBrad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Jeremy Renner Up for 'Counselor' Villain Role
Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, and Jeremy Renner are among Hollywood’s leading men being considered to play the villain in the upcoming thriller The Counselor!
Deadline reports that Brad may not be available for the project but that his name has been brought up for the role.
Michael Fassbender will star in the Ridley Scott directed film, which was written by Cormac McCarthy.
IndieWire explains, “The script is said to be an amped up No Country For Old Men-esque tale that follows a lawyer who naively gets involved in the drug trade and finds himself caught up in a desperate situation”.

I am not sure Brad is interested in the role, and there is a schedule problem, need consider Angelina’s schedule too. I’d love to see him in the role, he will nail it as always.

It’s clear who Jon Voight will be rooting for on Oscar Sunday: her daughter Angelina Jolie‘s partner Brad Pitt!
“I am rooting for Brad, absolutely I am,” Jon told Celebuzz of the Moneyball actor. “I think the performance is absolutely brilliant. It’s a great performance. Everybody in that group gave a great performance, but I think this is the performance of Brad’s career. It’s the performance I’ve been waiting for in some sense I think. It’s his movie. There is so much passion, it’s beautiful.”
Brad will be facing some tough competition, including good friend George Clooney, but at least he has Angie’s dad in his corner!
Pitt is nominated for his performance in Moneyball, but Jon says he would like to see Brad back on the big screen with his daughter next.
“I hope [Brad and Angelina] do a film together again,” Jon said. “They are wonderful together, wonderful. In every aspect.”

Could Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt be teaming on Ridley Scott’s “The Counselor” before they work on “Twelve Years A Slave”? If everything shakes out, that could very well be the case.
Deadline reports the Pitt, Jeremy Renner and Javier Bardem are circling the villain role in the upcoming Cormac McCarthy-penned film. Earlier this week Fassbender got locked in for the film at which time there was word that several “high-profile actors” were being sought. And this certainly seems to be the case. The script is said to be an amped up “No Country For Old Men”-esque tale that follows a lawyer who naively gets involved in the drug trade and finds himself caught up in a desperate situation. But even with these names, there is more to come, as there are two female leads that are reportedly integral to the movie.
This is all early days and who knows who will finally sign on the line. Pitt’s participation is dependent on scheduling, which is curious considering his only other confirmed acting gig right now is in the aforementioned “Twelve Years A Slave,” which shoots this summer. This is certainly attracting some big names and is already shaping up to be one helluva film.

Clearly Brad’s name is here just to get interest bc if he wanted the role, it would be his- setting up this story like this insults JR & JB, who are fine actors as well. Annoying that they are always using his & Angie’s name just to glean interest and set up a false competition.
