WELL DESERVED! She became Minne Jackson!

  • Annie

Wow Octavia, what a special moment! Didn’t she look radiant? So much more deserving than that dreadful Halle Berry.

I’m SO happy. She was so amazing as Minnie Jackson and so deserving of her win inmyop, Now if only Viola and Brad could follow suit I will be a very happy chick-a-dee.

  • aimee

  • yay

A night of overcompensated people celebrating themselves, yay!
A standing ovation for what? Plenty of people have done great jobs in their roles, why did she get an ovation? Hmm.

  • Laya

I was waiting all night for this! So happy for her – she looks positively radiant!

  • Lulu

Love her. Viola was robbed but I am not surprised Best Actress went to Meryl Streep, although it was not her best performance out of all previous nominated roles. I thought those who play the biopics win days are over. NOT !! What’s so difficult about copycat-ing somebody who is also still alive.

  • faz

I loved her performance and I love that she isn’t the ‘perfect’ idea of a hollywood actress and she’s getting recognition! Well deserved!

  • Gre

Best dressed. Best performance. Octavia is AMAZING! Congrats to her.

  • angie

She was so amazing in the help. She didn’t over-act. She was subtle and brilliant.

  • Lalalove

SO DESERVING! I teared up a bit. So proud.

  • KC

She looked stunning and she was completely in the moment when she accepted her Oscar. She is the real deal.

  • We

@Annie: Why are you pitting black actresses against eachother? Why does it have to be one over the other? Halle won many years ago and is not related to Octavia in any way.

  • Annie

@We – because I feel Halle won BECAUSE she was black and did not really deserve it for her performance. Octavia’s win more demonstrates rising above “color differences”
