A&R rep Gerry Griffith, on her dark side: “A lot of us talked about that, and no one could come up with an answer. Where is that rebellion coming from? It didn’t come out for a while.”
Singer Darlene Love, Whitney’s godmother: “I was pregnant at the time and she’d go, ‘What do you want, what do you want?’ There was a store on the corner where she’d run down the street and buy fruit for me. So charming from Day One.”

I don’t give a crap what anyone says about Whitney.
The average person did NOT have her voice or live that life in the crazy world that is entertainment…it’s not a 9-5 or anything normal–it’s crazy.
All I know is this—-her music brought me joy when I was growing up and that’s all I care about.

I wonder when the media will stop going overboard on the Saint Whitney theme? Yes, she had a great voice and I have all of her big hits. But she died alone in a hotel room from a drug overdose like many drug addicts do. She had so many chances and her mother tried so hard to save her – but you can’t make someone get clean and sober.The ultimate Good Girl gone Bad.

@Dave From Canada: Whitney Houston was human and had flaws and challenges like most people. We should rightfully remember Whitney for the gift she shared with the world “The Voice”. Although, Whitney is no longer with us – we still have the privilege of enjoying this glorious voice. We did not know Whitney personally but we loved her for enriching our lives. Her positive characteristics far outweighed her negative. Just remember….we all die alone. We can’t take anyone with us. Drug addiction equals personal pain.
I love Whitney Houston. She is beautiful and she enriched my life deeply with her music. I thank her for sharing her gift with the world and making us happy. I just wish the same type of happiness could have been found for her. Truly gifted woman. Miss you dearly Whitney.
