Gerard Butler Books A 'Brilliant' Role

Gerard Butler has signed on for the diamond-heist thriller Brilliant.

The 42-year-old Scottish actor replaces Eric Bana, who was previously in talks for the lead role. The film will reunite Gerard with his The Ugly Truth director, Robert Luketic.

The project centers around “a small-time criminal who partners with a female thief to pull off a daring diamond heist,” Variety‘s Showblitz reports, adding that producers are still searching for the female lead.

Gerard‘s other upcoming projects include the action thriller Hunter Killer, Thunder Run, and How to Train Your Dragon 2.

Cameron diaz and gerry to predictable. They should go with someone international.

jumping jellybeans!!!!

JJ makes IMDb look like a picnic in the park on a sunday arvo.

I kinda like brian, he stirs it up a bit at least.

love the hugs and kisses bit and the phoney WO dialog. As an outer i know how hard it can be to get in here. Most of my posts disappear, and i just calls it as i sees it.

Not sure what i think about the new flick. I guess all the work will keep his nose clean, literally.

I can’t stand Cameron Diaz, I think she looks awful lately and her attitude stinks. I like Jennifer Garner or Jennifer Biel . Even Katy Holmes would be great.
Angie Jolie would also be good, but she has lost so much weight that she looks anorexic and I don’t like her look at all – skin and bones. I don’t think she is a good role model.

That’s what I am thinking too.

I hope not. To me Diaz is more past it romcom fodder like Aniston, not a good actress.

What with Bana’s sloppy seconds and the Metro report today that Mr B wants to go on the Ellen DeGeneres show to talk about his rehab, he appears to be accelerating toward B rate celebrity. Maybe that’s enough for him?

where did you hear he wants to go on the Ellen DeGeneres show to talk about his rehab?

@Reviews:It’s in todays UK free paper the metro, in the green room column. I have a paper copy, haven’t looked online as I’m commuting and on my mobile only.
Meant to ask stateside folks. Do any other actors do as many chat shows as Gerry seems to? I know he usually does them for promotion purposes, but wondered if he demeans himself a little by doing do
If the clooneys and pitts of this world don’t promote by this method , do they simply pull audiences in reputation?

Ps the green room column comments on tabloid second rate celebrities probably unheard of in the states

From the last thread:
“Reviews thanks for the Vanity Fair photos – he looks quite handsome.”
Glad to oblige. Those pictures are gorgeous.
Yes i agree with you. I don’t think he had botox shots on his face. I don’t think he is that into his looks, judging by how sloppy he could look at times.

Yes, it’s unheard of here but good to know what it is, just in case we’ll come in contact with it in the future.

Well, we have not head anything about him doing Ellen DeGeneres so it could just be hearsay. Does it tell you the date the show will air?
I don’t think that by doing lots of interviews he diminishes himself any. I think, in his case at least, since he is such an intriguing man, there is a strong thirst for anything new that comes out of his mouth, even if he repeats a lot of it. Unlike other actors, this man has such an aura and mystique that draws many devoted fans to him. For his fans, there isn’t ever enough Gerry. They wait for anything new he says in order to figure him out and to get to know him better. I don’t think Clooney and Pitt, even if they are bigger stars, have the same following of fans that hang on their every word and watch their every appearance. Anyway, they are both older than Gerry and married, or in relationships, so their celebrity is waning a little too. I don’t think they are as big as they used to be and they also put on airs, which Gerry will never do and that’s another reason for his great popularity.

I don’t like Dr Drew that much but he was stalking about Gerry frp a couple of minutes
I don’t think it’s realistic to be away from his business contacts for 6-12 months, as Drew suggests.
This man is a celebrity and that’s what he does for a living. Telling him to stay away from social events is good in theory only. It’s not realistic.

Cameron Diaz will portray Butler’s female accomplice in Brilliant and a female lead is still to be recruited, according to Variety.
This from a few months ago – Carmen Diaz was set to star. Look how bad she looks. What happened to her?
