Jennifer Lawrence Covers 'Glamour' April 2012

Jennifer Lawrence wears Elie Tahari and Lucky on the cover of Glamour‘s April 2012 issue.

Here’s what the 21-year-old Hunger Games actress had to share:

On dieting: “I don’t diet. I do exercise! But I don’t diet. You can’t work when you’re hungry, you know?”

On adjusting to fame: “Just recently I started letting myself eat things from the minibar. When we were kids, we would never open the minibar. A $6 Snickers bar? But the other day I was in a hotel and I was staring at a Snickers bar, and I finally just ate it. Then it was like something in me snapped. I opened all these drinks. I thought: I can do it now. Now I’m all grown-up. I can eat things from the minibar.”

On life in the public eye: “In some ways, it’s a hard life, but it’s a great professional life. I’m doing what I love, and then I get months and months of rest. I have a lot of money for a 21-year-old. I can’t stand it when actors complain.”

I love her. She is humble, personable, beautiful and funny. A breath of fresh air in Hollywood.

  • poopie

i freaking LOVE her!! she’s so awesome and funny, totally my new girl crush, super sexy and i cant wait for the hunger games!

  • [~Fug Face Man!ston~]

…why do people “love” her? LOL …she’s not even hot.

  • mel

@[~Fug Face Man!ston~]: People love her because she seems like a genuinly humble human being… Only liking a celebrity because they are “hot” is just silly.

  • Grace

I loved the books. I read them before Jennifer was cast as Katniss. She would not have been my selection. After all THG stills I’ve seen, I still can’t imagine her as Katniss. She’s a big, fleshy, voluptuous girl who looks like she eats Snickers from the mini bar. She also doesn’t look like a teen at all. I hope when I finally see it in the theater, I will end up eating my words because I really loved the books and characters.

She is a beautiful youn lady – I cannot wait to see the Hunger Games. Have read the book, and it is great.

  • Bill

Why does she have to say in every interview that she has a lot of money? Such an arrogant attitude in a world in crisis!

  • Izzy

Getting really annoyed by her soundbites. Going on about how she’s real because she’s not a skinny twig like Kate Moss, and how she wants to punch people in the face when they say they like exercising. Sounds like she’s compensating a bit. I already know what her media game is going to be. “I’m real”, “I hate it when other actors complain about fame”…honey you ain’t that famous yet. Don’t judge what you don’t know.

  • [~Fug Face Man!ston~]

    @mel: …and loving a complete stranger (who’s only been in a handful of movies) isn’t?! hmm… `ahahahahahahahaha

  • Knox

She seems adorable, down to earth girl. She’s gorgeous.
But she really needs to stop with the whole ” got so much money for a 21years old”. Just don’t talk about it…

  • Leigh

Oh boy I’m going to tire of her pretty quickly.

  • CLu

I love Jennifer and her down to earth attitude…and the people knocking on her should remember that she’s only 21! So of course she still has some learning to do, especially when it comes to being in the public eye and saying the ‘right’ things. She is going to become HUGE when Hunger Games comes out so I’m sure she will figure it out. I just hope she keeps her head and doesn’t sell out like so many young stars do. I’m rooting for her! But I’m seeing her next week during the HG mall tour so perhaps I’m a bit biased! ;)

In the interview she also says that when she was at parties the people who ignored her don’t any more and she made it seem like how dare they but duh what does she think that some nobody is gonna get peoples attentions. You have to make people want to talk to you or give them a reason and giving a great performance and getting roles that are coveted are obviously gonna get attention. A person wouldn’t go to lets say the Vanity fair party and flock to the waiter to chat with him about what its like to hold a tray they are gonna wanna talk to the Actors who are in these awesome movies with directors and writers that everyone admires. I do agree with most people saying she is over compensating/trying to show how humble she is but the reality is even someone like me who has no clue what being famous is like understands the difference between some actor walking down the street and lets just say Angelina Jolie(whether you like her or not she is famous mega star and people recognize her which changes the game) I do understand why some actors complain why shouldn’t they be allowed to I complain and I have it easy compared to lets say a soldier but it doesnt mean everyone has some issues and things they wish could change and expressing that is not the end of the world.

  • Green

She’s 21? I thought she was at least 25! She’s annoying in films and not that great an actor. Don’t get the fuss.

  • KissThis

I totally LOVE her!!! She’s a REAL person, an everyday girl who has made it big, based on her TALENT… finally!!! And she doesn’t let it go to her head. More celebs should be like Jennifer.

Jennifer you had me at snickers! Real woman and an amazing actress!
