Big sisters Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3, must be so excited about their baby brother!!

Jen shared that initially, Violet and Seraphina were suggesting Disney inspired names for the baby.

“It was like, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse Affleck. And then they moved on. Then it was Peter Pan, Captain Hook,” she laughed.

  • BK

So the kids have that Hyphen-Name thing? Garner-Affleck?

I miss the old days where there was no hyphenated last names.

  • themissnayariveralover

wow nice name i like it

  • Anna

@#3 No, he’s Samuel Garner Affleck, Garner as a name.
I’m so happy for them, finally a boy to the family :)
I hope he got looks out of his daddy :D

  • Jem

No, I think they just chose Garner as the middle name, which is cute.

Also, hyphenated last names are NOT a hollywood trend! LOL they’ve existed for a pretty damn long time in history…………

  • Anna

    sorry, number 4!

  • Great

Thank God for a normal celeb name! Suck it Blue Ivy hahahahah

  • Ellie

BK there is no hyphen Garner is his middle name… Most women do that
To keep their name in the family!

Thank you Ben just wish to find out the weight of the baby! Does he look like Jen Or Ben!

  • BK

OHHHHH – Making Garner the middle name is a very clever thing.

I appreciate you clearing that up for me. :)

  • Liz

I like the name “Samuel”. A nice & lovely, NORMAL name. They thought about their kid’s future, good parents there.

  • Carrington

Congrats to them. And congrats on picking a name that won’t get the child teased at school!

  • ……

I wanna see what this baby looks like, who cares about Byonce’s little Blue G0rilla.

  • michelle

Congrats to them! Glad they gave the kid a normal name. Can’t wait to see pictures of him.

  • J

Finally a boy! Haha! I’m happy for them, they deserve the best!

  • seer

The Divorce announcement will come after his next film release.

  • fanatic

I’ve only heard one pack of celebrity kids with hyphenated last names- The Jolie-Pitt’s- so I don’t think Garner is a last name, rather his middle. Yay to a NORMAL name but it’s VERY common. Violet is as well I guess, so apparently their middle child- Seraphina- is the only one with a “not normal” name. I wonder how big he was, considering she was pregnant for like EVER.

  • ellie’

Congratulations, I love the baby’s name..can’t wait to see him..

    Samuel, not Sam, you idiot

  • ROFL

At least she WAS pregnant, unlike Fakeyonce and her 5-month pregnancy lol

  • yum2333

  • danni

People do not have to have so-called common names. GROW-UP people! Odd names are unique.

  • Courtney

some of Ya’ll are dumb Serephina their middle daughters name is either derived from a band of angels in heaven in Serephim or a diminutive form of Sara like sadie is. there’s always been weird names in hollywood that’s why so many classic stars didn’t use their real names nor is having the mothers last name as a middle name a new phenomenon either Lucy Neal Dahl comes to mind nor are the Jolie Pitt kids the only celeb kids with hyphinated last names Heather McCartney has 3 last names as in Eastman See McCartney

  • emma

I love Affleck family. Congrats <3

  • Mary H.

What a nice name. It sounds so regal. :)

  • Nah

    Vi, Sera and Sam! nice!

  • hello777

congrats! btw, thats a really cute pic of the couple!

  • Joe Blow

Samuel Garner Affleck is a great name and works well for this family! Blue Ivy is dear to and also what works for Beyonce and Jay Z. Different stokes for different folks. There is enough love to go around and the more you give the more you will receive.

  • Aussie Belle

@Joe Blow: Spot On Post!! Some like unusual names and some Don’t,it’s that simple and it’s not just celebs either.
I had a feeling that Ben and Jen would give their little boy a traditional name but would of been shocked if Bey and Jay called their little girl–Mary or Tracy! After a few yrs Blue’s name will barely be talked–like Apple or Pilot. Congrats

Now waiting to see what Jessica Simpson comes up with, must any day soon, she is huge tummy

  • lucia237

I like his name as well, no color, no fruit, no vegetable or nut…just real beautiful name. Congrats!
