Britney Spears: 'X Factor' Judging Deal in the Works?

Britney Spears is nearing a deal to be a judge on next season of The X Factor, THR reports.

The 30-year-old pop princess was reportedly approached by Simon Cowell, who created the show and serves as a judge alongside L.A. Reid as well.

THR reports that Britney‘s fiance, Jason Trawick, is negotiating the contract and that it could be signed as early as next week.

The X Factor underwent a shakeup after last season – host Steve Jones and judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul are all being replaced.

WOULD YOU BE MORE LIKELY to watch The X Factor if Britney Spears were a judge?

How is she going to be able to function on that show without someone telling her what to say and what to do? Does she realize that she will not be able to lip-synch? I suspect that she was offered the spot because the producers want to attract those who always seem to enjoy watching a trainwreck. This poor thing should retire and enjoy her time at home.

JLO is way better than Brit

Hey Just Jared,
Here is a story that you should post. STOP KONY 2012.

# 6

She is going to be great. Didn’t watch the show last year but definitely will now.

# 7

The xfactor will still not be able to compete with The voice and Idol.Britney can’t sing and she can’t speak either. Her favs words are awesome, cool, like …She will be a hot mess and a robot. Jlo is the total package on Idol, she has the looks ,and she knows what she is talking about. Christina knows what she is talking about on the voice andshe can sing.

Lol that’s not a flattering picture of Brit Jared

She looks so Old & Gone

what is she 50?

I like her (in fact I used to love her music) but SERIOUSLY??? I don’t care how many albums she’s sold or how famous she is. The industry in which these contestants want to be a part of broke Britney down….no one is forgetting the shaved head incident….ever…when it comes to performing she’s not been quite right since.

She would bring in ratings.

I will watch the show if Mariah Carey is the judge.

I miss the old Brit

that seems so outside her comfort zone but i’d definitely be more likely to watch

I would watch but I really wanted Cherly Cole to be in it. She would be worth 10 million.

Simon’s brain malfuntioned when he made this decision. Britney Spears has become a parody of a pop star(or whatever it is that she’s supposed to be.)

…the funniest part about this is how desperate simon cowell has become.
…there’s tons of reasons why this is a hilariously bad idea. i’ve give you one – she cant speak for herself.

people keep forgetting that Paula Abudl has not sang live once she even did a performance on AI lip singing…..sooooo britney will be fine!

[~Fug Face Man!ston~] @ 03/09/2012 at 11:46 am

@Paly: …That’s her face (covered in makeup). it’s probably the best photo jared could find. want him to use one of her when she was 18?

a person who cannot sing live is going to judge live performances….she cannot even express herself properly in words… GOD HELP US!!

Although I do concur that she has a limited vocabulary when she presents herself in the media but i think she’s a great fit for the show given that it’s a show that not completely about singing. I wouldn’t underestimate her quite yet i think she has a sufficient background about the business and i hope the show brings out a different side to her like the one i saw in her documentary.

of course they’re going to try to hire her. Simon’s mad he didn’t get the ratings he wanted/was boasting about and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. When one show has a pop sensation time to get the other…

Kindly note that X-Factor is not just about singing, she grew up in front of the lime light — we saw her ups and downs.. so Britney is qualified and has the right to be a judge. :-)
