Jessica Simpson Talks Contractions & Baby Kicking on 'Ellen'

Jessica Simpson holds her baby bump while making an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in an episode airing Tuesday (March 13).

“I have some weeks [to go],” the 31-year-old Fashion Star mentor told Ellen when asked about her due date. “I really do. It’s not like tomorrow.”

“[But] I had contractions last night and I freaked out a little bit. You know those Braxton Hicks things,” Jess added. “It’s like these contractions that pregnant woman have towards the end. It prepares your body for delivery. I’m prepared. It’s scary. It’s like, ‘Oh God, this can happen right now.’”

Jessica also shared that the baby – she and fiance Eric Johnson are expecting a daughter – has been kicking when they call her by her name (which they’re not revealing until she’s born).
