Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie are the proud parents of a baby boy named Luca Cruz Comrie!
Luca was born Tuesday evening (March 20) and weighed 7 lbs., 6 oz. He is the first child for the 24-year-old actress and NHL alum.

“We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world,” Hilary wrote on her Twitter account.
“He is surrounded by so much love!! Mom and baby are both doing extremely well,” Hil continued.

I am SOOOOOOOOO happy for Hilary & Mike. I met them a few months back and both of them were the nicest people! He is a great husband and she’s is going to be the most AWESOME mom! I am so happy for them both.

Um Hilary announced her pregnancy before Jessica did and Jess has 4 weeks left because her due date was pushed forward for medical reasons and besides 37 weeks is full term. Luca is a classic name for boys it’s a diminutive form of Lucus as in St Luke from the bible who is the patron St of artists and maybe she chose Cruz after Tom like the Beckhams did for their youngest son. congrats to them she’s gonna be a great mom
just for the records: LUCA is an italian name. It is not spanish or latin or whatever! So the argument about the racial background doesn’t work here…
It is by the way one of the most common and popular names in Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland right now! And there is nothing female about it, it ends on a because it’s italian, that’s it.
I mean, same thing: Taylor, Dylan, Skylar – how can those be female names, they do not end on an a??!? ;-) So, come on…!!
Luca is Italias, Lucas is Spanish. By the way, CRUZ is a Spanish girl name…
Lucas is portuguese name too, Mee, not only spanish.
And here in Brazil, Cruz is a last name. But, baby Duff has a beautiful name, ok?

Well now I feel incredibly old. I had first heard from here: http://thecelebritycafe.com/feature/2012/03/hilary-duff-welcomes-first-child-mike-comrie and I was… surprised. I just remember watching her show Lizzie Micguire on Disney. Now she’s having kids? I like that she kind of staid out of the spotlight for so long though. She’s a very beautiful woman!
