Angelina Jolie Talks 'Maleficent' and Writing Afghanistan Movie
Here’s what the 36-year-old actress had to share:
On writing a script about the war in Afghanistan: “I have been writing something, because I‚Äôve been there a few times ‚ÄĒ Afghanistan and Pakistan ‚ÄĒ in the last 11 years, and it‚Äôs a part of the world we‚Äôre all quite aware of now, but ‚Ķ I‚Äôm not sure. I‚Äôm going to actually see this weekend what people think of [the script.] But I like it and I‚Äôve enjoyed doing the research.”
On Maleficent: “I start it in June, and it‚Äôs a really great script. I‚Äôm having a lot of fun. I‚Äôve already got my horns fitted. My kids are very happy….It sounds really crazy to say that there will be something that‚Äôs good for young girls in this, because it sounds like you‚Äôre saying they should be a villain. [Maleficent] is actually a great person. But she‚Äôs not perfect. She‚Äôs far from perfect.”
On discussion of Maleficent’s looks: “We‚Äôre still figuring out the look. We‚Äôre experimenting with different things. But the horns are the horns ‚Äď you can‚Äôt deny them. You have to have horns.”
