Hilary has already started working off her baby weight after giving birth last week.

“20 minutes on the elliptical seems like an eternity!!! What the hell….” she tweeted the same day.

“You can do it Hil! So proud of your dedication!” Hilary‘s personal trainer, Harley Pasternak, encouraged her.

Ummm doctors do not reccomend starting exercise for 4-6 weeks following birth.walking, gentle abdominal/pelvic floor exercises can be done from birth but not stuff like the elliptical and her trainer shouldnt be encouraging like that. It can make bleeding worse, strain the pelvic muscles and basically it not advised. Fair play to her wanting to get fit again but its too soon.

I said what the f to this (title)! she obviously can not be workingout/exercising this early. I doubt she is doing much more than walk on treadmills this early baha. I don’t doubt her obgyn informed her ok J you’re a guy but seriously.
Btw, when are we ever going to see pics of Luca? it’s probably a medical check up for baby at this rate. Oh well good on them with their privacy.

@Kaylee: don’t you think her doctor knows that?!. i mean u arent even allowed to start exercising before asking a docto r and that goes to everybody, not only hil. her doctor knows it, so dont worry misssy

This what normal women should look like after giving birth. Go Hilary!!!!!!!!!!

    Mary H. Says:

I wish celebrities didn’t try so hard to lose the baby weight. It can be done at a healthy, normal rate. There’s no need to push yourself immediately after the baby is born. Then again, it’s not my body and I’m not her doctor.

I just had a baby a couple of months ago, and the last thing on my mind those first couple of weeks was exercising. I was so tired and still in pain… seriously I don’t think i would have been able to do 5 mins in the elliptical. Good for her!

    @lala:
does her doctor know what she’s doing? youve no idea if shes asked him/her and frankly its a dangerous message to put out there either way-its saying to other new mothers ‘im off my ass, why arent you already working out? why arent you on the elliptical a week after giving birth?’ dangerous physically and not great to other new moms emotionally-that they should be focusing on losing baby weight. what is the rush? enjoy the new baby and work gently up to the exercise. Hil appeared to do it right-exercising up to the birth and eating sensibly(none of this eating for two crap and gaining 50lb plus like so many) so there isnt a lot of weight to lose. health, of baby and mom, too important to care about fitting into skinny jeans a week after birth.

she has the best style!! always looks great!

    Nonna Says:

Oh please, she wasn’t a skinny girl before pregnancy, so why she’s now so focused on losing weight?
There’s something strange in Hollywood, like a race – ‘oh my, I started working out two weeks after giving birth!’ ‘and I did month after!’ It’s just a matter of time when they’ll start working out directly after pushing the baby out.

im so flipping sick of comments like “this is what normal woman should look like after giving birth”, every woman is different so stop comparing them, some go straight back to skinny without having to work out or starve themselves and some have a little extra weight left on them so dont compare unless you have seen 10 different body types after giving birth this one comment just annoys the crap out of me.

    Rentu Says:

@Mary H.: They try hard because its demanded. The same week Hilary gave birth people were calling her fat.

    reba Says:

why aren’t you wearing tight-ass clothes to show off your post-baby bump, Hillary? If you liked tight clothes so much while you were pregnant, why stop after the bay is born? Hypocrite.

    Mary H. Says:

@Rentu That’s ridiculous. People are so negative.

she looks amazing impossible to hte her she is a sweetheart

    Ava Says:

Are you kidding me? I’m sorry but that’s just stupid. You are NOT supposed to be doing ANY type of cardiovascular workouts after your pregnancy. It is recommended you wait 6 weeks to be doing vigorous workouts. You CAN walk, kegal exercises, pelvic thrusts, just passive workouts. You are putting yourself more at risk for blood clots and you’re body still needs to rest after giving birth. Crazy girl. She’ll still beautiful now, she’ll still be beautiful 6 weeks after. i don’t know what her rush is.

sorry for being frustrated… this is what we teach new mothers in the maternity unit :)

    Mimi Says:

Oh, yeah, hurry up get to the gym to get your figure back. ******* spending time with your baby and bonding!

  19. 19
    Mimi Says:

@Nonna: I agree. However, I highly doubt she pushed the baby out. I’m sure she had a c-section like they all do.

    A new mum Says:

I had my baby boy two and a half weeks ago and have only just about started to feel normal again. I started going for walks a week after he was born, but I was so weak, I could barely manage a stroll around the park. I lost all my baby weight within the first few days and was back in pre-pregnancy jeans within a week so it’s not as though every woman is the same after having a baby. I just don’t understand how she can have the energy to go to the gym. Is she not sleep deprived? Although judging by the fact that she’s able to leave the house without the baby suggests he’s being bottle fed, so maybe she isn’t sleep deprived and drained from constantly feeding every two hours day and night. Good for her for trying to get back in shape, but for the media to make a fuss of it is a bad example for other new mums who might feel pressured to do the same. I was a zombie for two weeks. Others, with a more painful recovery, will be for much longer.

    brenda Says:

She looks great, but she looks bigger now then when she was pregnant.

  22. 22
    hippy Says:

@Mimi: If she had a c section she would definitely not be working out right now c sections stop you from doing a crap load of things for 6-8 weeks and she’d be in a heap of pain if she was working out after having her stomach cut open 2 weeks ago
