'60 Minutes' Reporter Mike Wallace Dead At 93

Former 60 Minutes anchor Mike Wallace has passed away at the age of 93 at a senior care center on Saturday night (April 7) in New Canaan, Conn.

Mike helped put the news show 60 Minutes on the map with his investigative journalism and famous hard-hitting interviews with both the famous and the infamous.

“It is with tremendous sadness that we mark the passing of Mike Wallace. His extraordinary contribution as a broadcaster is immeasurable and he has been a force within the television industry throughout its existence,” Leslie Moonves, president of CBS, said in a statement.

Numerous celebrities have expressed their condolences via Twitter.

“Just heard of the death of Mike Wallace. A true original. What an amazing career and remarkable man,” Anderson Cooper wrote.

Mike Wallace was a dear & wonderful friend. Not just a great broadcaster, but a great guy. We will never see his likes again.” Larry King tweeted.
