Zooey Deschanel Talks Bullies & Dating With 'Marie Claire'
Zooey Deschanel strikes a pose in Gucci on the cover of Marie Claire‘s May issue, on newsstands April 17.
Here’s what the 32-year-old New Girl star had to share with the mag:
On whether she’s dating: “Honestly, I’m just going through a divorce, so I don’t really think that’s something I want to get into now. I don’t have time to date. I literally – don’t-have-time.”
On not wanting children: “That’s never been my focus. My sister [Emily] was always very motherly, babysitting and stuff. I like kids, and I like being around kids – but it was never an ambition, something, like, I need … I like working. That’s what I like doing. I like to work.”
On being bullied as a child: “I still have in me the same awareness when I was 12 and chubby and a girl was spitting in my face. I’m the same person. Certainly you change, and you change perspective, you have other experiences. But isn’t it funny – I can still remember when I was treated differently from the way I’m treated now.”

Every celebrity was bullied as a child
@BEAN: lol, I know right
She looks breathtaking in that cover! wow
I can see Zooey being bullied as a child because she is unique and probably didn’t follow the crowd. It is sad but at least she can give a big FU to the people who bullied her when she was younger.
Photoshop on this photos.
Wow at all the photoshop….especially the second one. Looks like a 12 year old, they’ve taken away all her wrinkles and everything.
I always thought she was so pretty. Beautiful eyes. I like her. It’s refreshing when women aren’t afraid to say that being a mother isn’t their “dream.” It’s not mine either, and I hate when that offends people.
echannel is the new Shannen Doherty
She is beautiful and I love New Girl but my favorite characters are Schmidt and the others …
She has very pretty eyes and although I’m not sure whether I want kids or not, I’m glad she’s isn’t afraid to admit she doesn’t want to be a mother. Parenting isn’t for everyone.
