Zac Efron: 'I'm Just a Musical Theater Geek'

Zac Efron makes his way through LAX airport in shades and a hoodie on Tuesday (April 17) in Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old actor has been busy promoting his new flick, The Lucky One, which is based on the Nicholas Sparks book of the same name.

“This was a role that was a big stretch,” Zac told press at Monday night’s film premiere in Hollywood. “I don’t think you could find two different people on this planet than me personally and Logan. I really admired his integrity. But he’s a Marine. I’m just a musical theater geek.”

# 3

# 4

he was (past tense) a musical theater geek. he no longer is.

# 5

Hope he has a great trip.

If this thing gets beat by think like a man I’m going to LMAO!!! It won’t even i know that think like a mans theather count is way too low if it was higher I think it would beat it but to bad. It’s funny how zacs movies always come out against none or weak competition. They’re trying to protect their little baby as best they can.

@Zzz: Estimates for the lucky one is optimistic, they expecting a modest success

# 8

I know this that was my point. The lucky one is the only game in town. hunger games is out of gas and will tap out around 13 million. If efron can’t beat that he should just call it quits and find another job. Think like a man can beat the lucky one but it doesn’t have the theather count to do it tlo will be in double the theathers think like man will. Which was actually my point that they always set up efron against weaker competiton so they can protect him and make him feel like such a big man

@Zzz: Honey, the point is not “protecting Zac Efron”, the movie is not released by his mom, it’s all about the studios returning money prospect, they spent a lot of money in it and expect return

Zac as Logan for the Win!!!!!!

whatever you say there little darling. Goodnight and good luck, always like saying that.

That’s such crap CSC flopped if what you are saying is true it should have opened at no 1 and not no 6 and barely made back its production costs which doesn’t include publicity, marketing, and foreign distribution – in short the studio lost money

The Hunger games is expected to do between 16-20 million this weekend and has crushed a lot better movies than TLO.

Also a movie can open well and die fast – having no legs past its initial opening

And “it’s the only game in town” means nothing since for most men A Nicholas Sparks – especially one with Zac Efron could be the only game on earth and they still wouldn’t go.

urbigfatass @ 04/18/2012 at 2:30 am

he should have picked a different profession as he clearly cannot handle the spotlight with an idiotic outfit like this… is he 12 years old ?

i think the title of his movie fits him ”the lucky one” cuz his lucky to have all of you who dislike him or like him he was being recognize so he got more job…isn’t this what producer or directors like to get a popular one? Even the actor is not so good or very good???? I’m mean that’s how show bussiness is they’ll get the actor who’s popular and give the movie to them with out thinking anything as long as they’ll get money right???? So i guess if ever this movie is rotten tomato people still wondering what’s the movie about so like the movie hates the movie or hate zac they got thier money that’s called bussiness….

Make my cherry POP @ 04/18/2012 at 5:18 am

I prefer him over Vanessa Hodgens.

He is very hot:D
Can’t wait for ‘The Lucky One’ :D

Oh, get over yourselves! CSC wasn’t a well-written screen play at all. Besides, the director kept focusing on Zac’s looks instead of the storyline. But, I went to see a screening last night of TLO and baby, Zac Efron does an incredible job! The focus is on his acting, and he DOES make the marine that has been damaged emotionally in war believable. Definitely, will go again this weekend! Go, Zac!!! The rest of you, get over yourselves and go see the movie, enjoy some popcorn so you can just watch and stop talking trash when you haven’t seen it. :)

Omg I just remembered that I had a dream two night ago that he died from a drug overdose.

Another flop? @ 04/18/2012 at 1:54 pm

TLO is in 3rd on number of ticket sales on Fandango, behind THG and TLAM

i’m going too see it , i heard alot of good things about how zac is really good, in the movie.well written.

It now has 7 fresh and 10 rotten on Rotten Tomatoes. The sad thing is that some top critics, including those at Entertainment Weekly, Variety, Hollywood Reporter and Village Voice gave it negative reviews.

But I don’t think the reviews will affect it that much. Zac fans will go see it and it will do well at the box office.

de Cosmos @ 04/18/2012 at 8:31 pm

Go Zac!

I cannot wait to see it. He is such a good actor and he is getting better and better – growing with each new role.

I heard that Vanessa is really psyched about the film and is going to see it on Friday.
