Dick Clark Dies at 82

Dick Clark, the media personality whose reach extended from game shows and radio to the yearly New Year’s Rockin’ Eve celebration, has died. He was 82.

The famed TV producer died from a massive heart attack Wednesday morning (April 18).

Dick “had entered St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica last night for an outpatient procedure. Attempts to resuscitate were unsuccessful. He is survived by his wife Kari and his three children, RAC, Duane, and Cindy,” his family said in a statement (via THR).

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dick‘s friends and family during this difficult time.

So sad to hear this news. Dick Clark was a true gentleman and a larger than life Icon. He will truely be missed. I grew up in the American Bandstand era in the 50′s and 60′s & in 1976 I saw him and his show “the Dick Clark Review”. He was ageless. God rest his soul and bless his family. My prayers are for his family.

To Mr. Clarks family. I grew up watching Bandstand every afternoon and then every Saturday. I loved all the musical programs he developed and produced. Not many people realize how big a part he played in the spread of rock n roll.

No one feels his loss like you do. And nothing will fill his place. Just know there are millions of us out here mourning with you and for you.

May God hold you in his arms until you are steady on your feet again.
