January Jones: Emmy Award Strategy Change!

January Jones keeps it casual as she spends the day with some friends and her 7-month-old baby boy, Xander, on Saturday (April 21) in Los Angeles.

The 34-year-old Mad Men star recently changed Emmy categories and submitted herself this year for supporting actress in a drama, a shift from her previous category of lead actress. January is hoping the strategy change will increase her chances of landing an Emmy this year.

“Her decision to jump categories follows the lead of [co-star Elisabeth] Moss, who switched from lead to supporting in 2010, then back to lead in 2011,” THR reports. “The moves helped to net Moss three consecutive nominations for the role of Peggy Olson — though, like fellow nominees Jon Hamm, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery and Jones, Moss has never taken home gold.”

FYI: January is using her Maclaren stroller!

I’m pretty sure that’s January’s sister! Xander is so cute!

Doesn’t matter which category she’s in–no talent, can’t act.

I don’t know about her acting skills in other movies but she’s flawless as Hitchcock inspired “icy blonde” in Mad Men! January really looks like Grace Kelly and she’s so beautiful as Betty Draper (except her “fat” era of course).

# 4

Of course she’s supporting, she hasn’t even been in THREE episodes this season out of a possible five. I hear she has a storyline as the show progresses, though.

who cares awards are fun for all of five minutes until you get back to your seat and realize they are statues. it’s not about the prizes that come after it’s about the work and January unfortunately can’t act. Ok the last time I Paid attention to the primetime emmys was 2005 when Paul Newman won best supporting actor in a mini series or motion picture made for television

i did not know that actors get to nominate themselves for awards

# 7
