Lindsay Lohan: Elizabeth Taylor Role Confirmed!

It’s official – Lindsay Lohan will be portraying the legendary Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime’s original movie Liz & Dick, the network has announced.

“I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role,” the 25-year-old actress said in a statement.

The project takes a look at the true story of Elizabeth and actor Richard Burton, who, “despite their roller coaster romance for the public eye to see … shared an undeniable love greater than most people could have ever dreamed.”

“We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon,” said Lifetime’s Executive Vice President, Programming, Rob Sharenow.

…and is she going to play the middle aged version of Elizabeth?

Shouldn’t someone who LOOKS like Elizabeth Taylor play her. Firecrotch has never had a beautiful day in her life. She was a cute little kid, an ok teen, and she’s a prematurely aged worn out mess now. She torched through her youth and her looks, and coasts on handouts of our legal system based on pity for her. Really, Linds as Liz??? Is this a joke, are we being punked???

    Shawna Says:

Why do you keep using that horrible picture of Lindsay? She doesn’t look that anymore and there are lots of better recent pictures of her. It is absolutely ridiculous.

Elizabeth Taylor is what most of today’s so-called “Hollywood Royalty” can only dream of aspiring to be with the short list limited to a talent such as say…Meryl Streep for example. With that said, to even consider Lindsay Lohan for such a role, Lifetime Movie or not, is laughable at best. I don’t need to give her the benefit of the doubt or wait to see the movie to justify why she is nowhere near the caliber of newsworthy “bad girl” or mega talent that Liz the icon was and will continue to be long after most people forget who LL is. LOL Sorry to her fans but if the folks at Lifetime think a few years of tawdry press, multiple sex partners and run ins with the law makes Lindsay a proper choice to mirror that passionate volatility that was the center of much of Liz and Richard Burton’s still talked about love affair for the ages then they need to stop smoking rope and get a clue.

I think some people should WAIT and actually see the product first before whining and complaining imo

    Gossipgirl Says:

@Maci: No need to wait, based on what we see of this woman, WE know that it will be a busted cracktastrophe! That is, providing she can keep her **** in check long enough to actually film this mess.

    Maci Says:

@Gossipgirl: If you say so lol. I don’t understand why people seem so angry and bitter when it comes to Lindsay. She’s a good actress imo so I def think she’ll give it all she has and do a good job while doing so

    Drew Says:

Ugh… why are we still speaking about her? There far better new actresses these days for this role… Take Allison Williams for example! And please lets get over Lohan who is simple overrated…

    Ernie Says:

I am happy for Lindsay. She is a ver y good actress. I think the cast was just perfect. Who care about her legal troubles?. It is all about talent.

LiLo looks exactly like Liz at the age of 80 years old. LOL. LiLo looks horrible these days. LOL.

Liz is rolling in her grave! This is a terrible casting choice… I wont be watching

    believe Says:

Liz was one of the most gorgeous women ever. She was also an Oscar winner. To have someone of Lohan’s ability and background performing as Liz Taylor is a slap in the face. I am sorry, I try to be positive, but this is too revolting.

    Sammy Says:

Lindsay? Really??? Is this a joke!? What a insult to the beautiful miss Taylor. What’s next? Vanessa Hudgens as Audrey Hepburn?!

    It should be Brooke Shields!

    Christian Says:

I don’t know why, but a part of me is thinking she might do the film some justice. I mean her acting isn’t terrible, it’s just her everything else. Her personal life has pretty much poisoned her career. If she wasn’t such a wreck, my bet is that actually might be pulling for her.

Has Hohan’s hair EVER matched her skintone? Jesus.

    RobN Says:

Well I met Liz and she was sooo beautiful, after became skinny and the first AIDS activist of fame. Now Linsday- not so so beautiful young, as Liz was almost 60 but more beautiful. What a train wreck it’ll be :) Fun to watch and Liz herself will be laughing. Really—Can you imagine Lindsay doing anything courageous for people with AIDS or anyone. Glamorous Re-hab is what she likes, not doing anything for anyone-except Lindsay, LOL ! Lifetime too, (G) prestigious :)

    RobN Says:

By the way, Liz had a passion for Richard Burton.
Maybe the movie should cast cocaine as RB. :)
