    U-U Says:

Why won’t they say who chose the nominations? They’re missing Twilight in a sea of mainstream box office movies. Good PR work but not exactly representative of, you know, the movie goers.

  7. 7
    Harry Potter forever Says:

The hunger games is good, but Harry Potter IS SO MUCH BETTER! Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is a masterpiece and deserves many awards. Breaking Dawn is sucks people… Emma Watson and Harry Potter, GO! <3

So now it is Hunger Games vs. Harry Potter, let the voting begins! Sucks that Twilight isn’t thrown in the mix with this new nomination system. Because Twilight will crush them all?

    Eric Says:

And why does it seem like the same exact people and movies were nominated in every single category?

    ladys Says:

Ugh. Bridesmaids was complete CRAP! I can’t understand how ANYONE liked that movie. I watched the last half speed-reading the English subtitles on my DVD at 2x speed, and it was STILL boring.

    Twilight: BLEAH
    Help: Meh.
    Harry Potter: Done with it.

I guess that means: Go, Hunger Games!

…`it’s MTV, come on.. we all know twilight and the hunger games will win everything. MTV’s the biggest bunch of kiss asses. `i’m surprise they didn’t throw britney spears a nomination for just being britney spears.

    V Says:

Twilight only received two nominations this year. See the viewership go down. MTV is owned by Lionsgate who also owns the Hunger Games. See all the Hunger Games nominations and Jennifer Lawrence leading the pack for most nominations for a single person? Twilight doesn’t need the support anymore. It’s the last movie. Everyone will want to see how it ends.

    Dizzy Says:

This should be interesting…Apparently, Entertainment Weekly is saying that the “nominees were selected by a panel of actors, producers, agents and industry tastemakers instead of via online vote from the public.” I’m happy with the Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and Bridesmaids nominations. Hopefully, the show is good this year. It has been kind of “meh” for the last couple of years.

    Chancho Says:

hahahhaah Kristen Stewart and Rpats are snubbed!!

    speaktruth Says:

I always get my hopes up, thinking that this is going to be the year that the real winners like Harry Potter will win because it’s their last year. However, it’s going to go to Twilight. Gotta give you this tweens, you sure do fight hard.

    Lisa Says:

    Emma Watson is soooooooooo A W E S O M E

I wonder if she will roll her eyes at anyone else this year. Jennifer Lawrence?

    Toni Says:

This is the first time in about 3-4 years where I did not see Twilight Saga completely dominate the categories. I don’t know if the voting changed or what, but I was shocked.
Now hopefully they can disperse the winners this year and not make it the MTV Twilight Awards.

    bg Says:

It would be really nice to see the HP cast win. It was such a wonderful movie and the trio are the best. But it would be fine if Hunger Games won. It was a pretty good movie and I really like Jennifer Lawrence.

  22. 22
    hap Says:

I hope for Drive and Bridesmaids to win, but I’m sure the Hunger Games/ Harry Potter will dominate these awards.

  23. 23
    electraheart Says:

Thank God Twilight is only nominated for two awards. I haven’t watched the MTV movie awards for three years because Twilight won every category, even though those movies are absolutely crap. They ruined that awards show. GO HUNGER GAMES.

  24. 24
    niagirl Says:

It is was a fan driven award show. Why blame Twilight for winning if their fans got behind their movie. Not everyone has fans who will vote for them over and over again. Even Harry Potter fans could not keep up. Its nothing more than jealousy. There should be a conflict of interest if Lionsgate owns MTV. Something stinks about all of this.

  25. 25
    lola Says:

Lets face it.They don’t want twilight to win again….Can you imagine 4 years in a row?

  26. 26
    K Says:

The award show has sucked for the past few years because of hosts and crappy jokes. Not because Twilight was nominated for awards. It was nominated because this show is about mainstream movies and large fanbases. Now MTV has lost a large fanbase and viewership. Yes, Hunger Games may take in a lot of awards and Harry Potter will def win because it was the last, but Twilight won because its fanbase is so huge. Now, that is gone. Besides, Hunger Games is only popular in the US right now. It has yet to reach international fanbases like Harry Potter and Twilight. That will most likely happen after the release of the second film. Dont worry though. Twilight might not be featured this year, but it doesnt mean the MTV Movie Awards will be any better.

soo happy not see twiligth in the main categories this year this is good for the movie industry congrats to MTV

Brilliant! I’m so sick of Twilight getting all the nominations. At least the Harry Potter films and the Hunger Games all received positive reviews from movie critics.

    Alia san Says:

why u hate Twilight??cuz it’s successful in all over the world??
there is nothing wrong about it.if u don’t like it will it is your problem. there is millions and millions of fans around the world
this movie have been successful for 4 years it’s more then enough. dosn’t matter if it got nominated or not cuz it’s dosn”t change any thing
and about this **** HG vs Twilight oh please both of them r really amazing movies but so so different in so many levels so let it go
HG is not the only cool, amazing movie out there

God,I hope, for once Harry Potter wins best Movie…It has been deserving the honor for so damn long..and I am soo fed up of Twilight winning again and again..

  35. 35
    marie Says:

guys…i’m a fan of HP, THG and twilight equally but i must say, i’m a little disappointed in MTV for only nominating twilight twice this year. yes, the movie has dominated the awards for the past 3 years but it’s not the movies’ fault…it’s the fans. if the fans of the other movies don’t want twilight to win, why don’t they just vote like the twilight fans do? it’s as simple as that. in my opinion, MTV giving twilight only 2 nods because it has dominated for the past few years is a compliment. it just shows that MTV knows twilight will win big again and the only way they can prevent that is by taking the movie out of the nominations. it doesn’t really matter anyway because i doubt robsten will be in the show this year. kristen’s SWATH and OTR and rob’s bel ami and cosmopolis are coming out in soon and they’ll be too busy to attend in june. (Y)

  36. 36
    HpandTwilightFan Says:

I agree with marie ,This is a rip off mtvs rating went up when twilight came along. and no offensive but if you dont want twilight to win vote for something else , i like by harry potter and twilight but this just take the rip. also why is taylor not in there for best fight , He is a black belt champion for crying out loud seriously its a joke definatly will not be watching it this year.

  37. 37
    Lailah Says:

Oh! I heard they were going to do this. The movie awards are trying to be the academy awards kind of  now and nominees were picked by like critics this year. So quality feels triumphed over fan favorites. I’m kind of glad though because it gave really good movies a chance to win awards. Breaking Dawn part 1 was kind of…bad. And they really didn’t need to split it into two parts. I’m sure twilight will win a few awards it’s not a big deal. But the hunger games is AMAZING!

  38. 38
    wkyee Says:

It is just weird to not have Twilight in the Best Cast nomination when you have HP and THG nominations. It is very obvious that MTV wanna get rid of Twilight and pretend to be ‘more’ serious.
But they are not dare enought to take away Twilight’s nomination in the Best Kiss. MTV is just stupid……. Who will take this award seriously BTW? It is just for fun. I liked it when it’s all about the fans. We have enough serious movie awards

    ash Says:

    best kiss no Drive??

this nom list is the biggest joke ever

twilight? hah the rating on IMDB doesn’t seem good. how could? mtv movie award? whatta joke

  41. 41
    Jess Says:

Happy for Rooney Mara :D great actress

  42. 42
    aquarius64 Says:

@Toni: Ditto. I think MTV heard the complaints that this show was turning into the Twilight Awards, and they mixed things up with nominees out of fear of low ratings. They threw the Twi-hards a bone with the Best Movie and Best Kiss nominations, but God help us all if Twilight loses in both categories.

  43. 43
    Whitney Says:

@V: MTV is owned by Viacom not liongate

  44. 44
    Whitney Says:

@Dizzy: If that true then that will explain Hunger Games nomination.

  45. 45
    Whitney Says:

@wkyee: I think MTV is bringing back to the way it was before Twilight

  46. 46
    555 Says:

MTV is lame. How the real world works? People nominate their politicians, then they vote for the favorite. Rigging it so they award Bridesmaid (rated R movie) the same number of nominations as Hunger Games….What 12 year old watches Bridesmaid?

  47. 47
    Nicholas Says:

No……..Drive should’ve been nominated for Movie of the Year

  48. 48
    pamela Says:

    twilight just have 2 nominations??
well that is a surprise (an amazing one)
i thought this year would be the mtv twilight awards (again)

  49. 49
    Max Says:

    Completely rigged!

  50. 50
    Lisa Says:

Completely scared of the competition!!! It is so obvious! It would be much better if HP, HG and BD could go up against each other in everything as they are the most popular but the Twi fans win everything so instead of embracing the competition and letting the public vote decide they manipulated things. Its a bit pathetic if you ask me. These awards are supposed to be fun and about what the voters want. This change of nominations has completely ruined it. Whoever wins now can not fully claim the win because they did not compete against the biggest competition. Think about it. Its the truth.

  51. 51
    Molly Says:

I have nothing against the Hunger Games, in fact I quite like it, BUT how is it even eligible for this years awards?? It is still on in theaters for Gods sake. They are obviously pushing for a HG win and I do not like being manipulated. I think I am going to vote for Harry and Twilight in protest of blatant propaganda.

  52. 52
    Cyn Says:

I think it was done on purpose… They knew if twilight was nominated they would have won in every category….they have just moved onto the next cash cow

    zara Says:

MTV was just scared of the competetion so they manipuated things to get the result they want. This is supposed to be a fun award show voted by the fans but you decided to go all golden globes on us because twilight wins every year. Shame on you for thinking THG can’t win without your help. Twilight fans Brought MTV awards Ratings and viewers and MTV decided to snub them because they have a new cash cow now. what’s funny is MTV said they wanted to give smaller films a chance, do you think THG and HP are small films? *snorts* also people who are complaining every year, why don’t you VOTE hard for your faves? call twilight fans whatever you want but they are loyal, passionate, and devoted. they always come through for their faves. I wonder what is going happen next year? Catching fire releases after the MTV awards and Hp is done. are they going to change their schedule so it’s after CF’s release?

  55. 55
    emma Says:

lol they wen from the twilight awards to the hunger games awards.

  56. 56
    leona Says:

Rob and kristen are very happy they don’t have to go up on stage XX amount of times to pickup awards, they always looked embarassed to do so. Twilight won three years in a row, not sweeping this year won’t kill anyone. I bet R/K are happy to take the back seat for once.

  57. 57
    Summer Says:

I really hope Harry Potter wins!!!!:( They totally deserve it for all the hard work the cast and crew have done for all the years! Its been a great chunk of my childhood. The Hunger Games I actually liked too:)….but…I just think its kinda weird that it basically came out a little while ago–and they considered it to be on the list already? hmm…anyway i’m all for HP!:D
