Jessica Simpson Gives Birth to Baby Girl Maxwell!

Jessica Simpson and fiance Eric Johnson are the proud parents of a daughter!

Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson,” the 31-year-old entertainer wrote on her website.

“We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!” the statement added.

The newborn weighed in at 9 lbs., 13 oz. Baby Maxwell reportedly got her middle name from her maternal grandmother, Tina Simpson, whose maiden name is Drew.

“I can’t wait for the day I can walk in heels again! My feet feel homesick!” Jess tweeted late last month. “I just woke up from a dream that I wore a leopard caftan in the hospital. Fabulous!! Now I need to find one!”

This is the first child for Jessica and Eric, who previously said they would tie the knot after the baby was born.

Congrats to the happy family!!!

How many days until she starts cashing in on that new baby? And then on her new figure, which she will get courtesy of plastic surgery, but claim that she got through diet and exercise??

@Just somepoints:

Actually Mowgli was for a Rudyard Kipling story from The Jungle Book. The syndrome was also named after this character. Both Ashley (is that her name?) and her then husband said that The Jungle Book was one of their favorites.

9 lb 13 oz… is 3 oz short of 10(TEN) lbs! Add 15 for amniotic. She gained 50. She went 2 weeks overdue. Can someone please cut this woman a break!

Maxwell is not worse than Morocco and Monroe, Bear, or Blue Ivy. Jessica said it was different but not that ‘out there’ and she was right. Maxwell is probably another family name same as Drew( her mother’s maiden name).

And at the end of the day, the woman just had a big baby! Be happy that she did it successfully and stop being so massively rude to a new mother!

Maxwell ! ????

Hope she didn’t do a natural birth.. Almost 10 pounds. Poor vahjayjay.

@ROCKY: Are you shitting me? Naming a GIRL Maxwell is better than Natalie naming her son in honor of her Israeli heritage? Aleph isn’t even that bad. When he grows up, his friends will call him Al for short.

ive never wanted the arrival of someone else’s baby more in my life. good god she was pregnant as long as an elephant!!

@Jennica Panettiere: isnt aleph the first letter in the arabic alphabet??

Some of you must not of had babies–9llb 13ozs is a big bub,but NOT that BIG!! Jess will soon earn loads with exclusive first pics and the in-depth story of the birth,with all details since she has been so open with the details of the pregnancy!

Saw a rude joke about the sillly name Maxwell. Drew Maxwell would of been heaps better,but each to there own.

The Joke– Johnson is a nick-name for a mans privates put Max in front of it–You get Maxi D*CK. And kids can be so cruel,why send your kid out into the world with such baggage and then having to explain every time to people.

just heard on E! that she wasnt due for a few more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! holllly eff!!!!

thought shed pick a “girly” name. maxwell seems very masculine.

Me Real kel! @ 05/02/2012 at 7:51 am

Um, ..Maxwell, yes? Good.lol, in case she gonna have only ONE child ..or maxwell was her favourite name.

Me Real kel! @ 05/02/2012 at 7:53 am

#23@kel: TROLL!!! TROLL!!!! BEWARE OF THIS TROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jennica Panettiere @ 05/02/2012 at 9:21 am

@tay: I think it also is in the Hebrew alphabet but I’m not Jewish so I’m not sure. But even if it isn’t, her kid is going to be raised American and so Aleph is not really that bad. I’ve just read it’s pronounced (AHH-LEF), I actually think that sounds nice.

It’s way better than naming your girl MAXWELL. Why not Maxine?

Seemed like she was pregger 4 14 months. Thank god the baby is finally here and Jessica can be the mommy she wnted to be!

I actually knew a female called Maxi, but it was short for MAXINE, not Maxwell which is definitely for me 100% a man’s name, it has no feminine ring to it at all. If she wanted a Maxi so bad but didn’t like Maxine why not just name her Maxi? I’d have found that more tolerable than Maxwell. Add to that the second name is Drew which is very unisex sounding, they could have at least given her one pretty name.

@Jennica Panettiere: Pretty sure Aleph, along with another recent celeb baby boy name, Astala, aren’t so much “crazy” names so much as old fashioned traditional jewish names which have fallen out of common use.

@Just somepoints:

Erica would have been cute, Eric and the last part of Jessi(ca) combined.

Her mother has good taste in names. Jessica Ann, and Ashlee Nicole. Too bad her daughters don’t.

@Belle: #59

9 lbs13 ozs, is HUGE That is NOT a normal size baby.

Julianna25 @ 05/02/2012 at 11:37 am

I wonder if she had gestational diabetes?
Any baby born over 9 lbs, it’s likely that the mom had it. Also the excess
Amniotic fluid she said she had- another sign of Gest Diabetes. She had better watch her wt- 60% of all moms with preg diab go in to get type 2 DM within 10 yrs….

Julianna25 @ 05/02/2012 at 11:39 am

Is it just me or does her bf look like a big loser? Does he do anything for a job except follow her around?

Laurenjen @ 05/02/2012 at 6:52 pm

THIS SOW DID NOT GIVE BIRTH TO A WILBUR

@Jennica Panettiere: who cares if her kid is going to be raised american??? you mean because he has an arabic name?? — never mind, i’m going 2 to ignore your racism ignorance.

Have to give it to this Eric Johnson guy. Guy has to do nothing except sit around and watch her blimb up. After this kid she is going to be a super meatball.
