'The Avengers' Breaks Opening Weekend Record with $200.3 Million!

The Avengers has blown it’s weekend box office competition out of the water!!!

The superhero flick opened this weekend to a whopping $200.3 million, making it the biggest opening weekend of all time in North American history, according to THR. The previous record holder, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, opened with $169.2 million.

Worldwide, The Avengers has made an amazing $641.8 million so far.

Coming in second was Think Like A Man, bringing in approximately $8 million. The Hunger Games came in third with $5.7 million, with The Lucky One coming in just below at $5.5 million. Rounding out the top five was The Pirates! Band of Misfits with $5.4 million.

    best movie ever! finally a movie where the ensemble cast was actually an ensemble. all the characters were relevant and really held their own. definitely best marvel movie!!

    I tried to watch a screening of this last night but all times were sold out until midnight and we were there at 7. Maybe I’ll watch this week when I get off work. Good to know it wasn’t just another “spiderman part 145″ movie

    The movie was cr@p!
    It doesn’t deserve that much money for something so boring and mediocre!
    I watched the first hour and half and all they did was talk, there was no action!
    I’m just waiting for the Dark Knight Rises!
    Now that movie will blow my mind thanks to Christopher Nolan and the cast and especially JGL!

    Incredible movie! Well deserved, I was blown away. I think non of the people at the theater could really believe what they had seen, everyone just sat there for like 5 more minutes to take it all in! lol, amazing movie!

    Bravo, Avengers!! I saw it on Friday and it was AWESOME!!!! People in the theater clapped at the end. This is what happens when you have a well-written, well-acted, fast-paced movie with a good dose of humor thrown in. Well done!!!

    its kinda a let down that people ignore good movies like the lucky one .zac efron was great in it.and go for these big movies that don have any sole.
