Dakota Fanning - Met Ball 2012

Dakota Fanning strikes a pose on the red carpet at the 2012 Met Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

The 18-year-old actress took a break from her finals week at New York University to attend the annual gala.

Dakota wore a lavender organza gown from Louis Vuitton – the jupon is made of tulle and covered with organza, embroidered with flowers made of hand stitched organza ribbons and took over 250 hours of work. She finished off her look with Fred Leighton jewelry and LV accessories – satin sandals and a silk lavender minaudière with old metal finishing.

This year’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit – celebrating the opening of the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations exhibition – is co-chaired by Carey Mulligan, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and designer Miuccia Prada.
