Kirsten Dunst - Met Ball 2012
Kirsten Dunst strikes a pose at the 2012 Met Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 7) in New York City.
The 30-year-old actress walked the red carpet in a matching Rodarte ensemble. She accessorized with Neil Lane and Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry.
The day before, Kirsten caught a flight at LAX Airport with boyfriend Garrett Hedlund.
This year’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit – celebrating the opening of the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations exhibition – is co-chaired by Carey Mulligan, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and designer Miuccia Prada.

I think the skirt should have been shorter to make it look better. I don’t hate it but, I don’t understand. It Does look like something shell love to wear.
Like a young margaret thatcher.
Terrible..
I was thinking she would hit it out the park.
the skirt is too long but she does very “actress from 1940″
Kirsten always faithful to Rodarte.
it isn’t christmas yet ***** what are you doing
Ho ho ho, Santa just came early! What a dumb ass!
just don’t smile and show the snaggle tooth
It’s Mrs. Claus!!!
i think this dress may have been better suited for someone older. perhaps meryl streep. it makes her look much older than 30.
santa claus is coming to town!
Yup…Mrs.Claus.
I love this! She’s so chic.
She looks like she’s auditioning for High Priestess in the SS in Nazi Germany.
if only it had been a different color combo! why did it have to be red/white with a black belt? it’s just too reminiscent of xmas and the santa suit. in any other color/color combo it would’ve killed. usually Kristen Dunst knows how to dress on the red carpet. a little disappointed.
@MaisyRL: Actually the color has been described on other sites as pumpkin. Also, tangerine. You can see the contrast with the red carpet.
Love the hairpiece! Only Kiki can pull this off.
mmmm… i have a little problem with the dress… but her look is dazzling…
She would make a beautiful Bonnie, in Bonnie and Clyde. She has a Faye Dunaway circa the 70′s doing the 40′s look. I agree the dress isn’t perfect for the event but it has an incredible vintage look.
Why did the stylist spray tan her normally cool pale skin orange colored and then put her in an orange dress that is for a much older woman on top of being an awful color? The look just doesn’t work and makes Kiki look older than she is.
I guess I can see the look they were going for but it doesn’t look like they came close to pulling it off. I am surprised Hedlund didn’t attend with her most people expected them to. Seems odd he didn’t in my opinion.
@WTF???: That isn’t someone most actresses want to look like. LOL
Shame we can’t see her toes, I want to suck on them so bad. I hope Garrett knows how lucky he is.
I like kristen, but this style is not terrible
Among everything skinny and sparkly that is very refreshing. If her aim was to stand out, I’d say she managed.
It’s nice to try different .
The whole looking is so vintage. I just don’t like tis hair style.
