Leighton Meester arrives at the 2012 Met Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 7) in New York City.
The 26-year-old Gossip Girl actress wore a Marchesa gown on the red carpet. She finished off her look with Harry Winston jewels and Tabitha Simmons shoes.

This year’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit – celebrating the opening of the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations exhibition – is co-chaired by Carey Mulligan, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and designer Miuccia Prada.

Bad lighting or overly orange oompa loompa tan??
Bad lighting…that’s all. It’s all about lighting at these things. Good lighting can make you look better than you actually look and vice verse.

i adore Leighton. but this looks horrendous. i *get* wearing Marchesa. but the color of the gown does nothing to compliment her. and she is overly tanned. it looks like she went to the same tanning place Xtina Aguilera used to go to…she almost looks latina or hispanic…that’s how dark she is. Leighton is a mess from head to toe. i’m kind of sad….i was hoping she’d look decent. :(

I was JUST watching gossip girl and thinking how beautiful Leighton (Blair is). This is Not a good look for her though!!

Don’t like the dress. Her hair and makeup made her look older than she really is. Love her but the overall look is a fail.
Love the dress, but dayum! Where did she get that tan? Awful. And that lipstick doesn’t look good with her style.
Marchesa makes the ugliest dresses. Pure McQueen and Galliano rip-offs. Someone should sue them already. Leighton usually has better taste in designers, I’m so disappointed. She should’ve been with Marc Jacobs!
Everyone needs to stop talking about this “tan” she has because it’s not that intense. It’s the lighting. In her other pictures, her skin looks perfect. People need to stop assuming things and actually be rational. Go on Getty and compare and contrast for all I care. She looks gorgeous.
