Rachel McAdams: 'About Time' Star?

Rachel McAdams gets some assistance pushing her cart full of groceries back to her car after food shopping at Whole Foods on Wednesday (May 9) in Los Angeles.

The 33-year-old actress might be adding some more work to her schedule!

Rachel is in negotiations to star in About Time, a romantic comedy from Love Actually writer/director Richard Curtis, according to THR.

The film is described as “a fantastical feel-good movie about a man and his ability to travel back in time. He eventually meets the girl (McAdams) of his dreams.”

Domhnall Gleeson, the son of Irish actor Brendan Gleeson, is set to play the male lead.

The Time Traveler’s Wife II

Another romantic comedy? Hope she picks much better roles.

but the argument of that film isnt the same of the Time Traveler’s Wife ?

She needs a really good, strong dramatic role. Maybe stay away from romantic comedies for a while. They are really not her strong points.

Why is she dressed like a 70-year old who is working in her garden?

She makes weird career choices (does sound similar to Time Traveller). Not sure why she is going the romcom route, I see her more a serious actress type. She is not a cutesy rom-commy to me type. And at 33, seems like she should be aiming her career in a different direction. But I get feeling Hollywood execs don’t know what to do with Rachel, she has always looked older than her age, she is not cutesy, not wow gorgeous to play the babe, her acting is good but never truly amazing and I think her career has stalled, not as promising, so maybe they are just throwing things at the wall and hoping something sticks!

To add to what I wrote..she is a pretty girl no doubt (not saying unnattractive), but not sexy beautiful to play the babe and not cutesy beautiful for romcoms.

This movie sounds like the Disney or Fairytale version of Time Traveler. She should try and do something more interesting or different. But I think that as pretty as she is, Rachel McAdams is a little bland compared to other actresses of her age. Kind of like vanilla, tasty, pleasant, sweet, but other flavors have more bite and taste. So maybe she doesn’t get offered many roles.

She is a million times more beautiful than that ponty chin, flared nostril Cuban tranny Eva/Evan Mendes.

So first she did a remake of The Notebook and now she’s moving on to a remake of The Time Traveler’s Wife? Seriously? The plot sounds too similar to The TIme Traveler’s Wife and I think she has already overdone the whole romantic film thing.
