Brad Pitt: Angelina Jolie & I Don't Have a Wedding Date Yet

Brad Pitt looks dapper at the Killing Them Softly premiere during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday (May 22) at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.

The 48-year-old’s co-stars – Ray Liotta, Ben Mendelsohn and Scoot McNairy – along with director Andrew Dominik and producer Dede Gardner, joined him on the red carpet after attending the film’s photo call.

Brad recently set the record straight about a rumored August wedding with fiancee Angelina Jolie.

“We have no date. We actually, really, truly have no date,” he told reporters, adding that Angie couldn’t make it to Cannes because she was “prepping for a movie.”

FYI: Brad wore Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière. Scoot suited up in Z Zegna.

    Sasha’s review:…g-them-softly/

Pitt is particularly good in this role, so comfortable in his own skin now he’s simply a joy to watch. Skilled, practical, focused — he says he doesn’t like killing up close, when his victims can beg for their lives — he prefers to kill them softly, when they don’t know what’s coming.

Gandolfini is scary/funny as the neurotic, misogynist hit man driving fast towards a brick wall. His weakness: booze and hookers. While his appearance in the film might seem random, it really isn’t. When you look at the Wall Street bailouts, the people hired to fix the problem never really got the job done. It is quick and dirty, this business of robbing the American people blind. And it was clumsy.

Killing Them Softly, some will say, hits you over the head with its message. But that, I think, was the whole point. What’s it going to take?

Certain to court controversy, “Killing Them Softly” captures in no uncertain terms the frustration and failed promises the American public as a whole have dealt with as well the lack of accountability and inability to take difficult but needed action to right the ship. Is this the first economic/political gangster movie ever made? All we know is want to see it again to keep digging into this dense and penetrating film. Easily a contender for one of the best movies of the year, “Killing Them Softly” pulses and burns in a way few films ever do. [A]…pitt-20120522#

Dominik controls the scenario and the cast tremendously well. Admittedly, slo-mo hit scenes to the accompaniment of ironically romantic music, and pre-crime banter and squabbling between robbers, are not entirely original, but these scenes are executed with flair, with a regular supply of dialogue zingers. There are some outstanding set pieces – the moment when Russell and a fellow criminal try to destroy a car by setting it on fire is a surreal moment of dismay. 4/5…pitt-20120522#

Killing Them Softly is as lean and disciplined as Cogan himself. It thumps along to a brilliant soundtrack and delivers a hard, cynical portrait of a society flailing in toward the abyss. “America is not a country,” Cogan explains, “It’s a business”; and a struggling one at that. 4/5

I think the person you don’t love or respect or KNOW, is Angelina – you describing Pitt as calling the shots on when they’ll tie the knot is pretty hilarious. Yes, Angelina is just waiting, waiting, waiting for Brad to set the date. Hahahahaha! Angie knows everything that comes out of his mouth, because she put it there, as it pertains to this wedding shite. If it was up to Brad they’d have been married as soon as the ink was dry, everyone knows it but you…but if it makes you feel better to paint the woman “who has no boss,” as sad because brad won’t plan her wedding…(doubling over with laughter) then knock yourselves out. It’s posters like these that make me realize how worthless Maniston fans really are…they suggest sci fi like this because they know that’s what Anistin was like, begging, pleading, cajoling, getting the soap opera daddy to go public and embarrass, crawling back to latent homosexual and douchebag John Mayer twice, bribing this latest rentadate with a CAA contract….these cat ladies can’t even fathom a strong family unit, devoted partner, and independent secure woman in love, who wouldn’t really give a fck about what her marital status on Facebook is, even if she had one.

Brad looks good, but I wish Angelina was there. They were at Cannes almost every year since they got together.

  • Umm…hatred = stupidity?

My guess…he’s wearing sunglasses in the 2nd picture.

The lines around his eyes aren’t visible.

He’s almost 50. Get over it.

I love that he shows his age (except in his hair – wish he’d keep it the way it was when they were at Cannes for Kung-Fu Panda/Changeling)

If this is almost 50, it looks damn good to me.

  • Nina

I wish he shaved, but he is still hot as hell.

Marking the biggest star presence yet at the Festival and , showing his true power, even the rainy skies turned blue, the temperature outside heated up and the sun came out just in time for his hike up the Palais’ red-carpeted steps.
Soooooo…basically God is saying, “Suck it, haters!” LOL! Ahhhh…the trolls are probably all suicidal because Angie REALLY isn’t there…and we get the joy of seeing Lamey’s ridic consipracy theory of a “surprise” PR-fueld “brand” appearance by Angie take a steel-toed Doc Marten up the ass. Ya gotta love it…

  • Lara

Beautiful and handsome, just a shame no Angie with him. KTS getting good reviews, great job Brad!

    Thanks Jared.

And here we go with the damn whining from some fans that Angelina isn’t there. It doesn’t make Brad’s appearance at Cannes any less and I’m sure she would have been there if she could have. She’ll join Brad on the red carpet again soon enough and they’ll set it ablaze again.
