Kirsten Dunst & Kristen Stewart: 'On the Road' Cannes Premiere!

Tom Sturridge, Kristen Stewart, Danny Morgan, and Kirsten Dunst arrive at the On the Road premiere during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday (May 23) at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.

Kirsten, 30, paired a Dior dress with Louis Vuitton jewelry, while Kristen, 22, wore head to toe Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière.

Co-stars Garrett Hedlund, Viggo Mortensen, and the film’s director, Walter Salles, also walked the red carpet after attending a photo call earlier in the day.

The film is “a beautiful and respectful adaptation of Jack Kerouac‘s landmark novel that intermittently leaves the ground to take flight,” notes THR‘s review.

Kristen Stewart and the whole cast looks really good!!! Love them all!

  • smiley

Awesome! Love this cast..I think they’re really great. Kristen Stewart is soo beautiful. She has flawless skin and doesn’t need a lot of make up!

  • LaCroix

I’m convinced Kristen fans are blind ones. Kristen’s dress pattern looks like my grandmas sofa. Srsly? Balenciaga is a very sophisticated brand & for older women . SO NOT Kristen. Bad choice as always as of late.

  • emma

@Reviews: UM, NO. Kristen is getting great reviews. Go check out Variety and The Hollywood Reporter for a taste of the good reviews her performance is getting. If you’re going to be a hater atleast be ACCURATE.

  • sick

@Jamie: Actually Garrett Hedlund is getting the best reviews.

  • Crys

@LaCroix: You’re not a fan, so maybe you shouldn’t comment on a post that involves Kristen Stewart. And who are you to say that Balenciaga is only for older women? Fashion is fashion. That’s the beauty of it… Your grandma must have great taste if her sofa looks like that! Kristen looks great!

  • Elle

    Is Kristen Jolie-ing?…

  • Kristen Stewart review

“Elsewhere Kristen Stewart again flatters to deceive, offering brief moments of passion and reverting to her ice-cold Bella shtick for the most part, criminally underplaying a character in Marylou who is supposed to burn with energy”

  • lis

@Kristen Stewart review: wow, one review. like someone said earlier, this movie is NOT for everybody. there’s are great reviews and there are bad ones. That’s life. No one needs to post all of that here.

  • lari

    Walter Salles:
“I only wish,” he says, [that] “the film is so controversial as the book and instead of awakening unanimously, create opinions for and against… and controversial films are not usually awarded in Cannes. “

  • mary

This film is getting BAD reviews!!! Bwahahaha! Suck it idiots!

  • Lola

Ugh, KStew you’re just fugly! That’s all! Same facial expression in every movie. No dimension. Go away already!

  • LizLemon

@Puzzle: Then she must be a hell of a lot like you!

Okay ready for the thumbs down.
Kristen Stewart fans seem to be completely hypnotized with her. She can do absolutely NO wrong in your book and if you say something negative that is actually true you jump on them like pigs on slop. You forgive her bad behavior. If Lindsay Lohan flipped off the paps you’d be calling her white trash. If ritney’s hair was long, stringy and greasy, you’d be all over her. all other celebrities call the paps or should shut up if they complain (you say it’s part of being famous) but Kristen is PRIVATE and is the only celebrity that should be forgiven for sneering, and scowling and looking miserable.
Everything is a double standard. Kristen can do no wrong and the rest of celebrities and people who criticize her are just jealous idiots.
Kristen fans calm down and accept that she is not perfect and people have the right to state their own opinions. They don’t have to be punished and told no to say anything bad.
    Okay let me have it
Oh and I’d like the girl more if you people weren’t so obsessive of her. You condone her behavior and that is annoying.

Oh and On the Road is one of the most important books of the 20th century. They have always put off making a movie of it because they didn’t want to ruin the reputation of this fine book. I hope they did it proud. I hope it isn’t an insult to the book. I have no opinion until I see it.

  • somali girl

Is Kirsten dunst pregnant? I love her.

  • mary

    to Puzzle

Kristen is only 22; give the girl a break. she’ll learn

  • um….

Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund are the two main leads of On The Road if you have read the book. The film is told from Sam’s characters point of view and Garretts character is the other most featured in the film.

Stewart,Dunst and Sturridge are all in smaller supporting roles.

Seems that Dunst and Stewart are getting all the press instead of the actual LEAD actors of the film. Which explains all the photo ops the past few days. I wonder why Dunst didn’t walk the carpet with Garrett Hedlund since they are suppose to be “together” and he does have the bigger role than her in this film. Surprised Stewart didn’t drag Pattinson along at least to France for another photo op chance.

Stewart is trying to build a career outside of crap Twilight while Dunst is trying to have a career come back after a few tough years she went through. Seems like both their pr teams are working over time.

I think its an insult to not even feature the director with the cast in some of the pictures. Without him this film would not have happened.

  • justme

and the movie is getting bad reviews LOL

  • Em

Like the book, the movie isn’t appealing to everyone. There isn’t a plot, a beginning, middle or end. The acting is superb and thus remains true to the original. The book was a character study with memoriable characters and the actors chosen delivered.

  • lola

I’m so glad to see more of Kirsten these days! She has been one of my favorite actresses, since The Virgin Suicides. Such a classic, timeless look.

  • enough already!

@holly: My god ! aren’t you tired of repeating the same crap over and over . i understand everyone has an opinion but yours is so ridiculous and obtuse … you don’t like the woman fine but this whole thing about her hair is getting to be so freaking redundant . here is an ingenious idea stop commenting on people you obviously don’t like or care for . She has a hairstylist that’s the way it’s suppose to look , she is young why should she look like all the other wannabee barbie clones in hollywood… i bet you are a real beauty!!!!RIGHT

  • ana

    - Kirsten Dunst won best actress award last year in Cannes for Melancholia…. a sufficient reason for all the media attention for her
    - the focus is the presentation of the film, not the personal relationships of the cast….

  • Chilli

Why’s Cynthia Nixon’s wife standing next to Kirsten Dunst? Is she an actor?

  • nhnh

oh my god kirstin cant look sexy

  • FrG

[Cannes Info] That arrival has actually been a disaster for the people there. A lot of people were waiting for hours for them, for a little pic or an autograph and this team is the only one so far who didn’t went to see the fans that were waiting for hours…!!! The only team so far!
Even huge stars like Brad Pitt or Angelina used to delay the red carpet to see the fans…
So Kristen Steward and Kirsten Dust who seem to not be very pleasant so far, are actually really like that… but with their fans??? Come on!!!!

  • seven

@Chilli: I suppose you’re joking… but…. the ACTOR (standing next to Kirsten and Kristen) is in the cast, his name is Danny Morgan (read the post) and he plays Ed Dunckel

  • to FrG

@FrG: I watched live stream and the reporter said there was no time for autographs since they were late

  • FrG

@to FrG: Yes they were late but what they didn’t say is that they are all used to be late…
As i said some celebrities don’t care to delay the red carpet to see their fans… It only takes 5 min to go to see some of them. The red carpet is not going to disapear 5 min later.
