Grant Bowler: Lindsay Lohan's 'Liz & Dick' Co-Star!

Grant Bowler has been cast as Lindsay Lohan‘s love interest in Lifetime’s upcoming biopic Liz & Dick, Deadline reports.

The 43-year-old actor – whose previous credits include True Blood and Ugly Betty – will take on the role of Hollywood icon Richard Burton, while Lindsay, 25, will play Elizabeth Taylor.

Grant will add gravitas to our couple and bring to life one of the greatest actors who has ever lived,” said executive producer Larry A. Thompson.

Liz & Dick is slated to start filming June 4. The film centers around the couple who “despite their roller coaster romance for the public eye to see … shared an undeniable love greater than most people could have ever dreamed.”

Okay he is 43 and she is 25? I realize due to her rough living she looks older and more leathery than 25, but Burton was only 7 years older than Taylor. So how exactly is this going to work? Oh, yes, it is Lifetime. So this biopic will be mainly fiction!

GB will be great. He was very compelling in his Ugly Betty role. He’ll steal the show from Lindsay. Good luck with that lesbian “chemistry”.

She’s only 25, but she looks like a 45 year old woman with botox and filers. Its bizarre that she thinks this looks good. She looks scary like one of the Housewives on Bravo.

  • Creed

That is so cool! they are playing 60 year old versions of the couple! Now who will play the young versions

  • LaDeeDa

He is super hot and a good actor, all they have to do now is replace Lindsay Lohan with a real actress and they’re good to go.

  • Peapo

I just hope Linsay shows up on time, knows her lines, and takes this film seriously. If she acts like the usual train wreck than as usual she has no one to blame but herself. Maybe this will turn her reputation around and jumpstarts her career. I hope. but I seriously doubt it.

This will be an enormous comeback movie for Lindsay. And actually, the casting is brilliant. Here’s why: Elizabeth Taylor’s life with Richard Burton was a stormy, rocky, tumultuous ordeal. Therefore, picking Lindsay Lohan to portray Liz is a brilliant strategy because people see Lindsay’s own life as being “stormy and rocky” at times. Hence, it makes good sense; the audience will see the character similarities on a subliminal level. This is more important than the fact that Liz and Lindsay may not physically resemble each other.

Additionally, Grant Bowler has great appeal from his previous work. When you add all this up, it means there will be a huge viewing audience. People may view it expecting it to be terrific, or not-so terrific, or bad, or just out of curiosity. But nonetheless, people will tune in. The Liz and Dick story is a Hollywood legend. People still remember, and they will watch.
