James Franco Weighs In On HBO's 'Girls'

It’s no secret that James Franco is a man of many talents. His latest
endeavor? Writing for the Huffington Post.

The 34-year-old actor expresses some tough love for Lena Dunham‘s
character on the HBO series Girls in a piece called “A Dude’s Take on Girls.”

The essay starts off by noting that while James doesn’t watch much TV, he does enjoy the show Girls, which is produced by Judd Apatow, the man who gave James his first good acting job in Freaks and Geeks.

James then goes on to say, “My first suggestion to Hannah (Dunham) would be this: get a f****** job. If you really want to have experiences to write about, go to work; and if you really want to be an artist, take responsibility for yourself and wait some tables. You might mature a little in the process.”

The show should be called White Middle Class Girl Problems…

James Franco is writing, directing, acting, attending college, and now blogging with the Huffington Post? Slow it down a bit, we can only take so much James Franco in one year.

Got to love this guy and never slow it down. Can’t get enough of him.

His diary blog for Huffington Post is really really good, so yeah another tick for him.

Actually the show should be called “Jewish upper middle class Girls”.
I can’t stand this show and seeing these average to ugly girls on my tv screen.

# 6

So…he didn’t get the whole point of her trying to find a job but failing at it?

# 7

Well Said, the show is highly repulsive . . .

# 8

His biggest complaint about Girls is the representation of men on that show? Give me a break.

@7: I know, right? Wtf??

baby love. @ 06/01/2012 at 1:47 am

@megan: if you’re james franco, it’s really easy to find a job…or 12. the rest of america, not so much.

Is this the same guy who starred in a soap opera & believe some art piece titled “**** Nose”?

Girls is funny. Franco is a douche.

@LOL OK.: and that is a problem because??? I’m not white and graduated from a top 20 university. when I watch this show it reminds me of life right after getting out of college, not having a job, dating douche bags or too-good a guy, going to gross parties, etc. it’s well-done and funny. the characters are flawed and realistic.

@A: oh so you want to see unrealistic pretty girls instead. you, sir, are an idiot.
