Kate Beckinsale: 'Trials of Cate McCall' in Pasadena

Kate Beckinsale wears a black pant suit on the set of The Trials of Cate McCall on Tuesday (June 5) in Pasadena, Calif.

The 38-year-old English actress plays the title character in the drama about a former hotshot lawyer who’s now in recovery and estranged from her family.

In order to be reinstated at the bar and recover custody of her daughter, she must take on the appeal of a woman wrongfully convicted of murder.

Over the weekend, Kate attended the 2012 MTV Movie Awards where she hit the stage with her Total Recall co-star Jessica Biel.

The two presented the Best Cast Award to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
