OlderWatch Audra McDonald Perform at Tony Awards 2012!
Audra McDonald lights up the stage during the 2012 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 10) in New York City.
The 41-year-old actress picked up her fifth Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for her work in The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess.
Audra started the performance with the classic song “Summertime” before being joined by her fellow Tony-nominated co-stars Norm Lewis and David Alan Grier for a medley from the show.
On the red carpet, Audra was joined by her fiance, Broadway actor Will Swenson.
The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess also picked up the award for Best Revival of a Musical!

Porgy and Bess is magnificent from start to finish. i’ve seen it twice and i want to see it for a second time. Audra more than deserves her Tony nomination.
