OlderBlake Lively Covers 'Marie Claire' July 2012
Blake Lively is red hot in Balmain on the cover of Marie Claire‘s July issue, on newsstands, June 19.
Here’s what the 24-year-old actress had to share:
On the public’s perception of her: “People like to draw parallels between my life and the scandalous stories on Gossip Girl. I dress the same as my character, so they think, She lives this life on and off set. I recently shared how many boyfriends I’ve had [four], and people were like, ‘That’s impossible!’ But it’s true. I’ve been with very few people. If I’m not with somebody who really excites or inspires me, then I’d rather be by myself.”
On preparing for her Savages role: “I went to the gun range and learned how to shoot a gun for the first time. It was awful. I asked myself, ‘Why were these things ever invented? But I did feel good that my first three shots were straight to the heart. It’s good to know – don’t mess with me in a gun battle.”
On why she doesn’t have a stylist: “Because I love fashion. It’s such an expression of self. I often see people and they look great, but I can identify who styled them. Every stylist has a signature. Maybe it sounds jerky, but I’m lucky to be on such a fashion-centric show [Gossip Girl]. There’s no designer I don’t have access to.”

She’s generic in the sense that she was created in a cosmetic surgeon’s office. Per surgery she looked more like Wayne Gretzsky

I like her! SHe is young and 4 is not that small of an amount for her age but I see her point that she is not like Serena in that way.

Some of us go through the akward/geeky stage in looks. Can’t all be as breathtaking from childhood as you were.

@@Lori: I did not say she was ugly! before or aftastic surgery. I said she was generic now, that does not mean ugly. And while I may not be breath taking in any sense of the word I still resemble myself many years after highschool.

She is very generic indeed, her face is nothing special at all, cute yes, breathtaking no. Her body is hot though. But all the photoshoots, interviews are always the same, very boring.
Again that old story about her stylist. We know you work w/ Daman et his work is terrible thus your nonexistant style.
She is a beatiful girl but she can’t act her way through a high school play and I don’t know how she keeps getting movie roles because she is a horrible actress. It must be her looks.

She has changed so much since she started gossip girl. I used to like her a lot but now it seems like she’s so full of herself, it’s quite annoying.
