Michelle Williams Covers 'Flare' July 2012

Michelle Williams graces the cover of Flare‘s July issue.

Here’s what the 31-year-old actress had to share with the Canadian fashion mag:

On her character in Take This Waltz: “I thought about [this movie] as a coming-of-age story. Not in the pubescent way, but a girl on the verge of becoming a woman, of that transition that you make in your late 20s or early 30s. She’s yet to experience a great kind of sadness. And I think that that’s the thing that kind of plants her into adulthood.”

On relationships: “You deserve more than just somebody who’s nice to you. I think that so often these days, niceness seems like it should be enough because it seems like such a rare quality but when you get inside of it, you think, ‘Hmmm … I can be pretty nice to myself.’ What about these other things? Life is too short and too crappy to not try to get more of what you want.”

On her number one summer rule: “You should never wear jewelry in the summer. You should always be ready to jump into a lake at any time.”

Michelle is amazingly photogenic besides talented. I always love the photos of her for magazines.

    Christine Says:

I think she is incredibly gorgeous and talented.

That anyone would try to insult someone for staying classy is just a sign of how tacky they are. I have never understood the “boring” critiques of celebs…you REALLY would rather watch a trainwreck than someone who has it together? That says so much about the person commenting.

    Eva Says:

She’s pretty smart and decent actor but yeah, she’s soooo boring!

    Delphic Says:

Can’t believe people find her boring. If you find her boring, what do you find talentless drolls like Cheryl Cole and Jessica Alba? Coma-inducing.

Who cares if she could possibly be a bítch? She’s a good actress and that’s all that should matter.

@Christine: You are so right. I agree 100%. It also says a lot about our society. Too much reality television I guess.

    Peapo Says:

    Amen Christine!

Only in this age do we describe a woman who is a fine actress, a mother, a celebrity that doesn’t party at clubs all night, and get numerous DUI’s boring. With all the train wreck celebrities she is a breath of fresh air.
plus I LOVE her pixie haircut. Mia Farrow ROCKED the hairstyle so I would consider that a compliment.
She has an adorable daughter and she avoids the paps.
You criticize all the moms for calling the paps for photo ops and here is an actress that we are not inundated with pics of every day and you call her boring. Hypocrites.
Okay my rant is over. I’m ready for the thumbs down. I’ll consider them a compliment from those who called her boring.

I think she’s incredibly FAKE. I frequent this site but didn’t have internet access for awhile and so I looked at all JJ’s posts on her since January. What was all that BS on the Today Show about being surprised by her Oscar nomination because she was too busy getting Matilda ready and didn’t hear about it until she arrived at a friend’s?? Puhleeze, girl. Who do you think you’re kidding here? So she didn’t get a phone call at 5 or 6 that morning? Just like she didn’t know a Weinstein film about MM would generate attention and possible nominations? And she stripped down on the cover of GQ, DRESSED as MM, for nothing (which I think is incredibly tacky and unnecessary, by the way)? Riiiiiiiight! She tries way too hard in my opinion, so hard that it’s a major turn off. I mean, would you EVER see Meryl Streep on the cover of GQ? Didn’t think so. It’s no surprise she won the Oscar. Don’t misunderstand, Meryl’s so talented and deserved it, but she’s also so genuine, which I think helps as well.

I think “sake” might just be right about the plastic surgery, so what’s with all the dislikes on his/her comment? Just look at pics of Michelle from around 1998 and compare them to today.

    1998: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/02/michelle-williams-men-hate-my-hair-_n_1071489.html

If she’s had plastic surgery, then that’s obviously her choice, but all of you should stop giving negative reviews to the people who point out the obvious. This isn’t a fansite.

Has she finally stopped talking about Heath? Maybe she will start using the Jason card if she is ever up for an oscar again.

    Mean Girl Michelle Williams Says:

    @Christine:
Christine how could you possibly believe that Michelle has it together.
The Marilyn Monroe movie was terrible. Michelle must have received acting lesson from that Myrna Carter acting coach on the Brady Bunch episode when they were trying to do a commercial for Safe detergent.
That is just about as much of Marilyn Monroe she could muster.
Michelle is not a born actress. Jason is destroying his future wasting time with her and I don’t believe she is any kind of responsible parent considering the trap she planned to become one.
