Benjamin Walker Does 'Weird Interpretations' of U.S. Presidents
The 30-year-old actor told the mag he can sum up his career as “doing weird interpretations of American presidents.”
Benjamin can next be seen in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which hits theaters today (June 22). He previously played the seventh president as an Indian-slaughtering emo rocker in the Broadway musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.
“Lincoln’s legacy is so big, I think there’s certainly room for all kinds of interpretations, but we did a lot of research and – I mean, the premise of the movie is ridiculous. And we get that,” he recently told Time.
“But the goal was to let the joke of it end with the title,” Benjamin added, “and then I set about doing my job, which is to make him as real and relatable as possible. So we did a lot of research and there you go. The proof’s in the pudding, I hope.”
