Nora Ephron Dead at 71

When Harry Met Sally screenwriter Nora Ephron has passed away at the age of 71.

The three time Oscar-nominated writer reportedly had been battling leukemia, according to Variety.

Nora, who previously worked on You’ve Got Mail, Julie & Julia, and Sleepless in Seattle, had two projects in development. She wrote and was to direct a biopic on singer Peggy Lee with Reese Witherspoon in the starring role. In addition, she adapted the four-part British television series Lost in Austen into a film and was set to direct it as well.

Our thoughts go out to Ms. Ephron‘s family and friends.

My condolences to Nora Ephron’s family. RIP Nora, and thanks for the wonderful memories. You are a beautiful soul, and now you can rest. God bless!

I watched A Lot Like Love yesterday. Which is often compared to films like You’ve Got Mail, and When Harry Met Sally.

She was definitley the queen of the romantic comedy
When Harry Met Sally,Sleepless in Seattle, and You’ve Got Mail had good amounts of humor
but a lot of heart and truth too.
Silkwood was her most haunting work.

Very sad. R.I.P. Nora. My mother and I enjoyed the movies brought to life by your scripts.

Thank you, I have just been searching for info about this topic for ages and yours is the best I’ve came upon so far. But, what about the bottom line? Are you positive in regards to the source?|What i don’t realize is actually how you’re not actually much more neatly-appreciated than you may be now. You’re very intelligent.

Sorry, but I don’t understand the mourning, keening and ashes on the head over this woman’s death. She was able to sell her middle of the road romcoms because she was born into a very influential family and she married 3 of the biggest stars in journo-entertainment. She won’t be remembered in the future because her “work” was so thoroughly ordinary. Please let’s stop acting like she was a talent on the order of, say, Paddy Chayefsky. She wasn’t.

I’m really impressed with your writing abilities and also with the structure in your weblog. Is that this a paid topic or did you modify it your self? Either way stay up the excellent quality writing, it is rare to peer a great blog like this one these days..
