True Blood
has been renewed for its sixth season, which will debut next year. Executive producer Alan Ball will be stepping down from the show runner position after this season, making room for Mark Hudis to take the reins.

I am a broadcast journalist and HATE The Newsroom. The women are all incompetent. Can you imagine not calling H.R. when somebody hires you because of your legs and then suggests you help them spread gossip about your managers? Sorry. Also, deadline looming they are talking about failed relationships? And nobody gets fired for a screw up? Dramatic licence, okay, but you can tell Sorkin never stepped foot into a real newsroom and that his go-to expert was Olbermann who thinks the airwaves exist to pontificate. Finally, could the characters not all sound the same? No novelist would get published if they wrote dialogue this impersonal. Woulda been a great show- in 1982.

As for True Blood, sad when the main character has been so marginalized.
HBO does have some great shows though. Can’t wait for Episodes tomorrow.

I cannot get into The Newsroom. There’s not one character I believe or care about. So that’s that. As for True Blood I have freaking loved this series but this one, I hate to say, is awful. I don’t love criticizing something TB, however, it feels so off! And where’s all the great humor? One of the best things about it was how quirky and silly it was. TB used to find humor in the smallest things. Now they don’t even try. Plus there is zero chemistry between Sookie and Alcide. Since the beginning there was no chemistry, so seeing them together (so soon after Debbie’s death/killing by Sookie) is just plain dumb.
