Steven Tyler Confirms 'American Idol' Exit

Steven Tyler will be leaving American Idol after two seasons as a judge on the hit singing competition.

“After some long…… hard…… thoughts… I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbit,” Steven said in a statement (via THR). “I strayed from my first love, AEROSMITH, and I’m back–but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band. The next few years are going to be dedicated to kicking some serious ass–the ultimate in auditory takeover.”

“On Nov 6, we are unleashing our new album, Music from Another Dimension on the Earth, Moon, Mars, and way beyond the stars,” he continued. “Idol was over the top fun, and I loved every minute of it…Now it’s time to bring Rock Back. ERMAHGERD.”

Earlier in the day, Jennifer Lopez said that it is looking likely that she will be leaving the show as well.

This show should have gone off the air when Simon left then Paula then Randy should have bowed out. Bringing on that awful untalented JLO was the worst decision ever the ratings fell by 30% with JAY LOW.

The old man just needs to go to the country and retire. He should listen to the Beach Boys, Crosby, Still, and even Paul McCartney………….the old boys just don’t have it any more. The rest of the world retires and so should music people. When you are in your sixties, it is not like in their forties. The pipes are old and the hair dye is looking bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Louise: the infinity of your stupidity is so abysmal that I can hardly sizing how hollow and ridiculous are your words. Let me guess your musical tastes, Justin Bieber, some american Idol or perhaps Lana del Rey? … I thought that. Some people should go to school before comment anything about anything. In short: you are a pathetic loser.
