The film is a 1950s-set drama centered on the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as “the Master” (Hoffman) whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young drifter (Phoenix) who becomes his right-hand man.
Little is known about the details of the film and some are speculating that it is based on Scientology.
Paul Thomas Anderson, the 5-time Academy Award-nominated writer/director of There Will Be Blood, wrote and directed the film!
The Master is set to be released in theaters on October 12.
FYI: Amy was just cast in an untitled film from her Fighter director David O. Russell. She’ll star as the mistress of a con artist played by Bradley Cooper who works with an FBI agent (Jeremy Renner) on a far-reaching corruption case, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

‘There Will Be Blood’ is an incredible film!!
Kind of wish Daniel Day-Lewis was in this, but Philip Seymour Hoffman is also a terrific actor!
