OlderDavid Beckham Brings Olympic Torch to Opening Ceremony
David Beckham drives a speedboat down the Thames river towards the Olympic Stadium as part of the Opening Ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics on Friday (July 27) in London, England.
The 37-year-old soccer star shared the speedboat with Amber Charles, an English basketball player who carried the torch.

Nicole Kidman was also at the Opening Ceremonies, along with Duchess Kate, Prince William, and a number of other dignitaries.

I think it’s a bit of a Marmite opening ceremony; you’ll either love it or hate it and there’ll be no middle ground. I was a little embarrassed by its tweeness to start with but it grew on me. No spoilers here but there was one bit I thought’d be serious where I laughed so hard both cats shot out the room. I hope you enjoy even if Queenie looks so bored you just know she’d rather be at home with a pot of tea and a corgi on her lap.
Sorry, but Beckham S-U-C-K-S! I LOVE the Olympics, but cannot stomach watching them in L-O-N-D-O-N, all because of Beckham and his VILE, VILE wife who will no doubt be hogging camera time like no tomorrow. Why can’t some psycho shoot up these blow-hard celebs instead of innocent Americans! UGH! Can’t stand it!!!!
