Bradley Cooper shows off his shirtless bod for a production of The Elephant Man at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Williamstown, Mass.
The 37-year-old actor is taking on the title role in the play, which tells the story of John Merrick, known as the Elephant Man due to a physical disfigurement.

Dang! I keep seeing these photos of Bradley in his shorts and all I can do is grin slyly and try not to drool.
FYI kiddies – it is the norm for stage productions of The Elephant Man not to use makeup or prosthetics for the actor who plays John Merrick. Instead they actor contorts and convinces you of John’s ailment through their acting. Apparently, Bradley did an amazing job and got rave reviews for his performance.

The author of the play specifies that the actor playing role not use prosthetics but use his physicality to portray the disfigurement and remarks that actors with a bad back should not play the role. Several actors including Billy Crudup have played the role exactly the same way. He’s only in his shorts for a small part of the play and there are many other production photos out there where he is fully dressed.
The play sold out immediately and I haven’t read a bad review, and it’s actually a role he played before when he was at drama school.
It’s nice to see actors who’s career focus’ predominantly on movies go back and work on stage, especially in challenging projects.
