Gabby Douglas Competes in Uneven Bars Finals at Olympics

Team USA members Gabby Douglas and Sam Mikulak compete in individual events on Day 10 of the 2012 Summer Olympics at North Greenwich Arena on Monday (August 6) in London, England.

The 16-year-old Women’s Individual All-Around gold medalist competed in the Women’s Uneven Bars final, but unfortunately came in last place out of the eight finalists.

“It was an amazing talent of finalists,” Gabby said (via USA Today). “Coming into bar finals was a big challenge for me. I made a little mistake, but I’m human and when you get towards the end of the Olympics you get drained and tired.”

Sam, 19, competed in the Men’s Vault final and finished in fifth place.

    Unlike, Maroney, Gabby congratulated and hugged everybody even thought she was on the last place. I was quite shocked, because I remember that in the finals she was really good!!!! We will see tomorrow the big winners and although I am Romanian I wish everybody good luck!

    I’m proud of Gabby. At least she tried and did her best. That’s what matters. A person giving it their all. It’s not necessarily about winning every time. And if you don’t win in the event you can win with your behavior and how you treat the people you competed against. Let them enjoy their moment;)

    Great going Gabby!

    Gabby couldn’t be anything but a class act. I was hoping she would medal in this event but I’m not mad or hating on her. Se’s still walking away with the MOST coveted prize in ALL of olympics be it the men or women. At least she didn’t have have the stank attitude of Mustafina who IMO was the most childish/bratty behaving young “lady” representing any of the countries.

    There is nothing wrong with being last every once in a while. Not to mention, this was the finals.

    @Marie:
    Did you see the b-tch face of the other USA girl? Mckayla?
    She looked like a total diva making faces in the podium and ignoring the Russian girl, winner of the bronze who went to hug her. They get all emotional there, why are you singling out Mustafina?
