Lady Gaga Covers 'Vogue' September 2012

Lady Gaga takes the coveted spot as the cover girl of Vogue‘s September 2012 issue, on newsstands August 14.

Here is what the 26-year-old singer had to share with the mag:

On her new fragrance Fame: “The fragrance is called Fame. It must be black. It must be enticing. You must want to lick and touch and feel it, but the look of it must terrify you.”

On one of the highlights of the Born This Way Ball: “We were talking about putting the show together, and I said, OK, what if I was someone’s grandma and I was going to a concert tonight. How would I know that it was a Gaga show? And we all just sort of looked at each other and said,‘The meat dress.’”

On her music: “I don’t really make records for people to listen to and go, ‘Wow, she’s a genius.” I’d really like you to order a drink, maybe kiss the person you came with that evening, or rediscover something about your past that makes you feel even more brave.”

While taking my three sons to summer day camp, my youngest fell and hurt his knee very bady. He was bleeding and crying hysterically. While I’m trying to find napkins, mothers always need something available for situations like this, a woman comes over and offers some tissues and telling my son he would be ok and that if he stopped crying she would get him a McDonald’s shake as we were only a few feet away from a McDonald’s. She was kind and loving to my son and to me as she could see I wasn’t handling things very well. A man comes running over with McDonald napkins, some wet and some dry. My little one stopped crying and the ‘Lady’ true to her word went into McDonalds and got him a shake. That ‘Lady’ was GAGA. She stayed for a few more minutes until my son relaxed and then left. She gave my three boys big hugs and to me as well, then left. There were no papps around which I was greatful for as i looked like hell. I’ll always remember her voice and how she went out of her way to help a mother who as flustered and a little four year old who needed comforting. I liked Gaga before my son’s fall, I LOVE her now.

I think Gaga tries to hard and I really don’t find her that interesting. That said, Madonna’s recent cattiness re: her and how Gaga has responded has impressed me. She hasn’t stooped, she’s walked on. Madonna’s having a hard time it seems with not being that interesting.

what about Joan Smalls…or Rihanna…or any of the new hot Asian models…or even a Kardashian?!!!!!!

Anna Wintour is making Vogue standard and not PUSHING fashion forward….so sad..first Sept issue I prob wont get in many years.

not happening.

@Jesse:

word. I will be getting the Gwen cover too.

SHE IS COPYING RUPAULS LOOK!!!!

he will not be pleased.

she shoulda out RuPaul on the cover!!!!!!

sooooooooooooooo yawn.

@VICTORIA: Um Madonna has been on the cover several times.

Gwen defintely wins for the Sept cover! This cover sucks and i so sick of Gaga. Lame choice Vogue.

She looks really pretty. Haters gunna hate.

Dress designer is Marc Jacobs! Not sure about the wig… Gaga, as always, looks amazing! I don’t think anyone else could pull this off

GAGA The GREAT !! I am so happy for Gaga. It’s ironic that Madonna had a song called Vogue and the Vogue Magazine editors chose Gaga to be on the cover of the 2012 double fashion magazine issue. Someone wrote that Madonna was on other Vogue covers. I know she was on other covers but she wanted to be on this one and Gaga got it.

To celebrate 120 years of telling people about the fashion world, Vogue surely didn’t pick the best person. There are so many other women who are heavily admired for their beautiful fashion sense, and they pick Lady Gaga??? She never even looks normal most of the time. Seriously. But on the bright side, her story won’t take up much of the issue. There will be so much fashion inspiration in this issue that I can look past it. I’ve never had a September issue before, and I just want the historical issue, not Gaga. In all honesty, I think they should have switched her with Emma Stone. Now she is a new face of fashion.

The mermaid gown on the cover is a Marc Jacobs design :)
