I think some paps from the US probably travel up there too if they know things are going on, or there are bigger celebs there. They could have some contracted out for publications as well. Though he’s been there awhile now and he’s been relatively left alone. This is only the third time he’s been papped. Last summer he was getting it every day, sometimes more than once a day.

  • Canuck

Well, he can hide behind me when I get there, except he’ll have to crouch down quite a bit, which might be a bit awkward for the poor guy… :)

  • ladybug

@Canuck: Just bring along a golf umbrella and offer to walk in front of him to protect him from the paps. And if the paps get too unruly you can close the umbrella and beat the paps around the head and neck with it.

As for TB last night, not to give anything away, but when Eric gets updated about what’s been happening at Fangtasia I think he’s going to be proud of his new grandvamp.

  • Canuck

@ladybug: I’d probably be a lot more effective with a 5 iron in the event of unruliness than I would be with an umbrella, lol!

Haven’t watched more than the first three episodes this season :(, I’ve been all over the place for the last couple of months, sometimes with TV, sometimes not and in most cases, a slow internet connection. I’ll have to catch up in September once I’m settled into one place again.

  • Camille

It’s nice to see Alex out and about. I hope he’s enjoying Vancouver. It’s so beautiful with the parks and the water right there. They have some great places to eat as well. At least he’s not there for the rainy season. That’s the only thing I don’t care for. It rains too much for my liking.

  • mforman

I love to see new photos of him, but I hate when they come at his expense. He looks so unhappy and angry, yet when we saw the shot of him with his fans he was smiling and laughing; so it really is the paps who he dislikes. I feel very bad because now that they know he is there and where he is staying they are going to keep getting in his face.
I guess there really isn’t any winning in these situations.

  • martine

@Camille: I agree. Vancouver is such a beautiful city. So many trees, mountains, and fresh air. I hope Alex is enjoying his stay :)

  • ladybug

@Canuck: There was a lull in the middle of the season as they were working on getting the storylines combined, but with 2 episodes to go I have no what they have planned, other than there’ll be a high body count at the end of episode 12 and probably a major cliffhanger(s).

  • Canuck

@Camille: Should I happen to run into him Camille, I won’t forget to see if he’ll hold up a “This is for the other Canuck” sign for a pic. :) That said, chances of me having the time to stroll around downtown are a slim unfortunately.

@ladybug: It’s ok, I just fast forward through all of the non-Eric parts anyways… Lol

  • Camille

@Canuck: I hope you do get to meet him. It was unfortunate that I didn’t get to when I was in New York with my mom a year ago. Oh well, that’s how it goes I suppose. Hopefully you will have better luck!

Disconnect will also be playing at TIFF:

    @ladybug: That’s rather awesome!

@Canuck: Now if we could just get some info on The East.

“Hey guys, the internet can be totally fun times with stuff like Tumblr, porn, Facebook, memes, YouTube and whatnot. However, very bad stuff can happen on it too, and it could probably ruin your life or something. That seems to be the message of “Disconnect,” the first narrative feature from “Murderball” director Henry Alex Rubin, and his first movie since 2005…”

  • mforman

I just watched Sundays episode of TB again and I will say it one more time, this has to be my favorite season apart from the first.
I think they are going to leave us with one huge cliff hanger this year. If you think about it there are so many different stories but for once they all tie into each other, and that is why we are really going to be left hanging.
Truly, I am so sad there are only two episodes left, I think they need to give us more than 12 episodes.

  • ladybug

@mforman: I’m hoping they at least clarify the Warlow/Fae stuff, because it’s confusing as heck. And it’s confusing because I don’t see where they’re going with it. At least with the Authority I understand the underlying point.
It’s been pointed out by some of the tumblr sites that Eric hasn’t appeared in the previews for Episode 11 or 12 so I do wonder what Eric will be up to the last two episodes.

  • Mine!

    @ladybug:
I think the Warlow thing is going to be how Eric and Sookie bond and possibly vampire marry. Quinn is not going to be in the show according to Alan Ball and Andre doesn’t exist so this is the next likely storyline to follow since they seem to be still trying to follow some of the book’s. This year they had the Supe shootings. The only storylines that still have characters to use would be the Pelt’s revenge, though not against Sookie and Eric saving her from a stronger vampire by bonding to her. If they follow book rules, that would make Sookie untouchable.

  • Texas Swede

@Mine!: I have my doubts that Warlow is a vampire at all. Since no fey has ever been able to link to a vampire I think Warlow is a fey. I know he has fangs but so did some of the fey when Sookie went there and rescued her grandfather. The parchment is written in ancient Fey. A vampire would have written it in English so the signer could have read it.

This is AB’s final year and I expect him to give us a big upset on his exit. So I see a stretching out of the Warlow mystery til next season. And I hate it…LOL

  • ladybug

@Mine!: But they don’t follow the book rules at all concerning the blood bond, and frankly seem to have forgotten about it for large portions of the series. It was alluded to in the first episode this season, when they both knew that she was in danger/fear concerning Debbie Pelt/Tara, but then they’ll not explore it much at all. They basically seemed to use the bond as an excuse to have sex dreams.
I’d like it if Sookie saved both Eric and Bill, but we probably won’t know how successful she is until next season.

  • ladybug

@Texas Swede: I’m also not ruling out my original thought, which is that the Fae are lying to Sookie, since they’ve already admitted to being able change their appearance to fit where they are, why not have their sharp teeth look like a vamp’s fangs. Could be a water fae.

  • Macy

I’m more inclined to think it may have been the fae too, since Sookie’s ancestor’s had a war with the other fae in the books. Perhaps they’re using this to spin off that idea. I don’t think the vamps would have necessarily written something in English. There are vamps that speak all kinds of languages, and it’s just projection on the viewer’s part that it would have to be in English. There is no reason why a really old vamp couldn’t know some fae.

  • Whycantipost

I’ve gotta feeling the scroll/contracthing Sookie found will be play a big role in the Authority storyline. Something with Sookie having control over Lilith/the magic of ‘her’ blood with that contract/Warlow-dude. Russell wants Sookie, if they bring her in she can tell them something about a vampire/fae-hybrid (what I think Warrow is for some reason) and she will set them (or just Russ) up, making them think they can become daywalkers. Or she tells them Russ can’t have her since she is ‘owned’ by a very old and strong vampire.. Everyone dies, everybody happy.
Or Russell is Warlow; we still haven’t seen his face and Russ’s accent changed when he was making his big statement at the end of the last episode. He sounded kinda ‘Dracula’, like a different person. . That could explain his huge interest in her from the start; she was promised to him.

Also think this because Sookie’s storyline is completely outside of Eric/Bill/other vamps storylines, they have to meet again sometime//

    So far my conspiracy-theories xD

  • §

At least he is still smiling for his fans… looking a bit thinner though…still charming:

  • mforman

@Mine!—-I like your idea about Sookie and Eric, you make a great point.
I think that Sookies fae ancestor from the 1700′s could have made a bargin with a vampire, because we still do not know what was behind that contract. That is probably why Gran had it hidden.
When they first brought Russell back it was great, now he has just gone nuts, I mean really enough with the same storyline from last year. Enough with him going after Sookie, and I cannot believe that Salome couldn’t control him somehow. I thought they would have done more with him and Steve N (who I think is doing an amazing job as a vampire).
I have a strong feeling that Eric is acting and just playing along, and is then going to get out of the Authority with Sam, Luna and Emma and even Jessica, then he will be the one that saves Sookie and wins her back.
Okay, I can hope right. I keep thinking Alan B will throw us Eric fans a bone and give us what we want to see, the two of them together.

  • ladybug

@Whycantipost: The Warlow theories are all over the map, frankly at this point I have not a clue. One of the reasons I don’t think it’s a fae/vamp hybrid is this:

So, the question has come up before, will Sookie eventually become a vampire in True Blood? TV Guide believes they might have the answer. Also find out a special skill that fairies possess.
Here’s one thing you can be sure of: Fairies can’t be turned into vampires. (Vampires just think their blood is mighty tasty and helpful for sun-bathing.) But executive producer Alan Ball reveals something else that fairies can do: “They can abduct humans and take them somewhere else that is not here,” he says. “Just like aliens.”

    http://www.trueblood-news.com/true-blood-spoiler-will-sookie-become-a-vampire

Also something Bill said from S3, about how it would be impossible to turn Sookie. Which was interpreted as being because she’s fae. But that could have been interpreted incorrectly.
But if I remember correctly, RE had no idea that the fae were even still in existence. Though I think Sophie-Anne did. So KRE could have been lying. Or TB has forgotten some of its implied mythology.

Per the inside the episode for the last episode KRE’s accent is ‘German’. Except Russell’s 3000 years old, so probably not his original language, since German didn’t exist then. Of course, TB also has Eric and Godric speaking modern Swedish, not old Norse, so historical accuracy with their languages isn’t their strong point.

If TB can explain Warlow in a way that fits in with their mythology and they don’t have to pull a deus ex machina, then fine.

I think Sookie will be together with Eric at least at the last episode. Though since it will probably involve saving Bill and trying not to die at hands of vamps and perhaps fae, probably not a lot of time to discuss their feelings for each other.

  • ladybug

@mforman: Russell is over 1000 years older than Salome, she’s not going to control him. She may have thought she could, or that since she saved him he’d listen to her, but this is Russell. I don’t have a problem with the continuation of the storyline from S3, of Russell wanting to daywalk. He’s been out of the sunlight, but for a few precious moments, for 3000 years. Can’t blame him for wanting to see it on a more regular basis.
The daywalking will also probably help lay the groundwork for fae vs. vamps, which is where I think TB may be headed for next season.

§: that pic’s from last weekend. So far, the only sightings have been on weekends.

  • Mine!

Doesn’t anyone remember Eric talking in the books about the Vampire/ Fae war that almost destroyed the Fae? It is totally possible that a fae female was part of a peace treaty signed by Sookie’s Fae ancestor to stop the bloodshed.

  • ladybug

@Mine!: This may be one of the storylines -in some way-that TB is bring over from the books, the fae/vamp war.
In the comments from the article I linked it’s mentioned that in S3 it’s discovered that Sookie doesn’t have a blood type, but Jason does. That’s being brought up again, along with the Faerie legends of switching out human babies, implying that Sookie and Jason aren’t related at all.
So at this point any theory is on the table..

  • hmmmmmmm

Maybe Sookie is involved in a sort of a changeling type of storyline.
Just can’t wait for it to all come together and the lines are drawn.

  • Texas Swede

My reason for feeling that Warlow is a Fey is the wording of the contract as well as the language. It says, “the first Fey ‘bearing’ female.” Sookie is older than Hadley. So Hadley is not being pursued by this Warlow. Just by vampires. But I think Sookie is being pursued by Warlow to reproduce a Human Fey. And I think it is a water Fey as well.

I really hope all the Authority people get it in the end. None of them have any redeeming qualities, even Nora. Bill is effing ANNOYING!

  • ladybug

@Macy: I still think most, if not all, of the Authority will be dead by the end of the next episode. Even if Nora lives I don’t think she’ll hang around.

    Bill won’t die anytime soon.

I don’t think we’re ever going to find out about Warlow.

    And we need more Eric.

  • mforman

Bill has completely lost it. I am wondering if Nora will get killed protecting Eric or if Russell will kill her. I didn’t read if she was coming back next year. Also, I was wondering if Eric will get to Sookie and the faries before Russell can get to them. I think they are going to have Eric reunite with Sookie and keep us hanging with Bill still crazy.
I have a feeling a huge cliffhanger is in store for all of us this year, because I cannot remember them really leaving us hanging. There is so much to finish up I don’t think we are getting any of the answers we want.

  • Macy

    @ladybug:
I don’t see Nora being long term either. For all the hoopla they gave Chris Meloni, he didn’t last long. Oh I know Bill won’t die. He’s probably still the saviour by the end of the series and Sookie will probably be with him. Barf!

  • ladybug

@Macy: I’m hoping they have enough guts to continue Bill’s transformation from the ‘nice’ vampire to someone who never really was that nice to begin with.

  • Macy

    @ladybug:
I do too, but sadly I have serious doubts.

  • maria

this season go so fast, what will i see the sundays??and some people say that the next season coming on august 2013, is a lot of time to wait.i need more ep. for season, and with more eric.

  • ladybug

@maria: I’ve heard about those rumors of the August start date but I’ve not seen any source, so take them with a grain of salt.
If they start filming months later than they usually do, then they might have a later start date. And we won’t know that for awhile.

  • mforman

I just got done watching the Season FInale of TB and all I can say is OMG!!!!!!!!.
